Villa's intensity killed Utd for the first 25 mins of both halfs but they couldn't keep it up and really let Utd off for a very poor performance.

Nothing to be proud of. Can’t control a game of football. Players lack urgency and commitment. At one point in the second half, players were yelling at each other to run into spaces. Why did we end up playing with no man up front? We are ugly.

on a positive note, McFred proved to be the best partnership in football history

Shambolic......I didnt think it was possible but we've regressed post Ole. Defensively better (or luckier), but the decision making from the front 6 was as bad as I've seen.

Massive issue with Rashford, looks like he wants to leave. Thought he'd be better post surgery but is horrific.

Very bad, no energy. Why not start Van de Beek and Lingard? Try something different? The rest of those chancers aren't doing anything to deserve their spots in the team.

Into the next round..

I struggle to understand how we are quite so bad though. We literally suck at every phase of play. Rangnick has been here a month... Could be that the players just don't give a feck because he's only the interim guy. Struggle to see any other reason for it.

Rashford in that second half was embarrassing. But the others weren't much better. We also have the most selfish attackers of all time. Fred and McTominay, credit to them for working hard, because feck the others.

Scraped it really, especially the second half where I felt they were better. First half was more even with good spells for both teams.

Oh well. A win in 90 mins in the Cup. On to the next round. Gerrard knocked out. How bad.

That was one of the worst wins I have seen in a long time. We really need to shift or bench players who seem to be dead inside, a lot of the players seem almost scared to play. It's bizarre watching a United team performing like this. We have talented players, a lot of them just seem to have lost their heads.

On the bright side we did need to practice some defending didn’t we?

Happy with the win regardless.

Absolutely outplayed by an 'inferior' team again. Our players have an aversion to being in the right place and have to sprint miles to close anyone down or deal with second balls. I have no idea what's going on but it's painful to watch.

Wolves and Villa both looked as if they had 2 extra players.

Genuinely feel there were some positives today. Obviously second half was pretty poor, sloppy passing in general. Better at winning the ball, better press in the first half. In general I felt the first half we weren't so bad. More mobile without Ronnie.

Some really poor stuff in the second half though. Rashford's performance was truly awful. One of the worst I've seen from him.

Either pick up undeserving wins/points or lose. New Manchester United. Even though I will expect more from RR and his team by now, I totally hate these players for doing basics so horribly wrong, so regularly. Rashford is barely a footballer nowadays.

I have a feeling they'll get their revenge on Saturday.

There's two football pitches between our front and back. Too stretched vertically. Our pressing looks so disjointed and easy to pass around.

Shearer is so bitter. He thinks Cavani wouldn’t have got to the ball, despite being ahead of the Villa player who got on the end of it

Most unlikeable United team in my lifetime. Rashford is terrible and has a horrible mentality. Most of them are shit, but he infuriated me the most today.

It all feels a bit weird. I don't feel stressed watching our team anymore. There's no joy to it, it's all very bland and tasteless. Our football is so shit to watch. The players don't look like they give a shit, which I think is transferring over to me, as I'm finding the team very unlikeable.

Nice win, but we are not playing well.

So far under our new manager we are playing like a mid table side.

The match could have been a classic if either team had anything resembling attacking quality/end product.

If Rashford is going to be out that wide then shouldn't he be wipping balls in like Beckham, instead of just running into traffic all the time?

We need a clearout before we can start challenging again

A win is a win even if I’m peering through the fingers at watching us play.

I’m pretty sure that’s the worst I’ve seen Rashford play too. That half assed statue pose staring at a loose ball in the 74th minute was genuinely infuriating.

A win and clean sheet. Far from convincing performance. Villa performed better tonight than their win against United in Old Trafford earlier this season.

I wouldn't rate any United player above 6 tonight, most 5 or under.

Utterly clueless performance AGAIN.
Gutless, spineless, pathetic, weak, disjointed, piss poor, any of these would be a good description of our team.
I see no improvement whatsoever since RR became manager, desperately clinging on for a thoroughly undeserved win.

How are they arguing that block on Cavani! If that one's allowed, we might as well start playing NFL.

Another really worrying performance. Outplayed once again. In fact, since Ralf has come in, bar 30 mins vs Palace, we have been outplayed in every single match. If we thought Ole was stubborn with his tactics, then Ralf is even worse. The 4-2-2-2, is just not working and is easy to get through us, with ease. Villa again next and that’s a huge worry.
