Does this guy still exist? Is he playing well? Seems to have completely dropped off the radar.

Think the Cristiano transfer derailed him.

I always assumed he was one of those who lacked a defined position that the big teams at the very top of the game do not play anymore. Not a proper no.10, not quite a right winger etc.

A bit like what we turned Mata into?

Injuries and Cristiano took the momentum off him. Juve overall are pretty shit currently for their standards.

Mata turned himself into it.
“What Mata has become at United” may have been a more accurate post from myself. I wasn’t looking to criticise anyone, merely try to make a comparison to a United player for the Dybala description given by the poster.

He was rightfully voted Serie A MVP 2019-2020 and made sure Juve won the Scudetto after the covid-pause, despite some awful football under Sarri.

This season, he has been hit by covid and injuries. He recently returned to the pitch but has looked very slow and unfit. His contacts expires next year so I guess he is on the way out. If he gets back to last year's form, he's an excellent forward. Right now, not so much.

He is at his best playing off a main striker. There are few players with his finishing ability from outside the box.

Cristiano Ronaldo did to him what he did to Benzema
Suddenly Benzema became a 20 league goals a season player and Dybala went from top player to forgotten

Always thought that Atletico under Simeone to replace Griezmann in their former system would have been perfect for him. But with Felix making strides not so sure anymore. One of those players that seem to need to play off another striker. Lingards replacement at West Ham when they get into the CL?

My guess is PSG. Poch wanted him at Spurs. Bayern were also linked in the past. In the PL Liverpool? I think he will find a good club though, he wont be that expensive.
Already 27, time flies.

I'd take him on loan next season if we were to lose Cavani, I actually think he's exactly the type of link up player the likes of Rashford, Greenwood and Martial would thrive off.

We could loan them De Gea in return, of all the big clubs I think he'd have a genuine chance of replacing Schyzney.

Wasn't he linked with us last summer ? Off the top of my head I remember that for some reason, talks never went beyond the initial stage

There was something said about agent payments seeming exorbitant and so on, but afaik he didn't really want to leave. So someone who have had to pay him over the odds to entice him to move.

Yeah... I think it's unlikely he would come here. Cavani will possibly stay for one or two more seasons.

Neymar.....Dybala....Mbappe

That would be great with Dybala able to drop off (bit like Firminho for Liverpool)

That said not sure they will keep Mbappe and they have Iccardi so i cant see it happening

More Likley Juve try and cash in on him and Ronaldo (but nobody having the spare cash for a transfer) with both of then deciding they are better off waiting till the winter and signing a pre contract as a free agent and massive wages

Dybala is still only 27 though and coule be a great signing for somebody with the right system (I could see him playing behind a striker with wingers either side and 2 holding midfielders... or as a striker in a three where he drops back and the wide players attack the space he leaves in a 4-3-3.... possibly he could play in a front 2 with the right partner but it wouldnt get the best out of him).

Get ready for an influx of dybala links, as the negotiations with have apparently broken down so he is open to new offers.

We all love United
This Dybala contract saga is worst and tiresome than compared to our Pogba one. He doesn’t want to come and live in Manchester anyway, that was quite evident a couple of years ago when we were trying to buy him

He might be available on a free but no, stick with Rashy and Martial.

Absolute gem of a player and a left foot.. Was player of the Serie A in 19/20 where a season before it looked like Ronaldo coming in really affected his play/role in the team.. Was injured quite a bit last season and is now just coming back from injury...

He is quite injury prone but on a free its a no-brainer to try and bring him in if you ask me.. I think he wants to stay in Southern Europe though..

The last player we need tbh. This squad is imbalanced as feck and that needs to be addressed, bringing in Dybala just adds to that problem IMO

As a Calcio fan , I can tell you from a bottom of my heart, he usually plays well when conditions are perfect to him, another side of him when conditions aren't/ weren't great or be an accomplice to him, he always plays really bad or not as people expect him to be. He needs a lot of consistency in his form, if he wants to upgrade himself to another level. In the past of 3 years, he has become to be "an injury prone too".

Outside of that, I would say one thing that really make sense to me. He is a bit of unlucky man. Tbh, he was born a bit late. Talking about formations and tactics, imo he is suit more of pure second striker or number 9.5 like Del Piero and Baggio (I'm not compare his talent to both) in 4-4-2 system. Today it's a lot of different in term of tactical perspectives, 4-4-2 isn't a regular formation of big teams anymore, he was/is tried in other positions by a lot of managers such as wing forward or even wingers so many times and that's in my opinion is one of the reason that he isn't reach to his potentials. Sarri's 3-4-3 formation wasn't a plan for him to rise and that has effected his form until present days( in term of confident). :)

Except neither of those plays in his position/role.
Not to mention one of those players has literally been frozen out.

This is exactly the type of signing Rangnick is supposed to veto. We’re already extremely lopsided with an attack that doesn’t complement itself. As @General_Elegancia says above - he requires a particular sort of system and our best/most important player (Fernandes) occupies the type of positions Dybala wants.

Just a thought... On the Pogba forum someone posted that we need an Adidas poster boy as part of the sponsorship contract, Dybala was/is one of them. Given that Pogba is most likely leaving, and there aren't many attainable top Adidas players out there, maybe we'll go in for him?

Not that I'd want him here.

Martial is clearly being sold, and dybala is the definition of a luxury player, even more so than Pogba. The last thing we need right now.

Yeah, it would be a bizarre move that showed we've learned nothing. Our business should be entirely focused on the midfield.

Other than Pogba and Dybala, you got Messi, Benzema, and Salah among their approved "poster boys". And Salah will be, contractually, in Dybala's current situation next year. How about him?!
