First I have to state the purpose of this very thread. We've been discussing Ronaldo to death in the Ronaldo performance thread so this thread is not a place to debate that, it'd be too repetitive and make no sense at all.

I'm only curious to see how many would say yes and how many would say no. So add only Yes/No in your post, no explanation please. And a kind Mod please add a poll if possible. Thank you.

I'll start: Yes.

He should not start every game. Many he should be an impact sub. I suspect he was though given guarantees on playing

If he isn't going to bother putting an effort to improve his all around play, then yes. It's getting ridiculous to watch a primidonna act as if he has the privilege of standing around waiting for chances to be created for him, and throwing his arms around every time it doesn't happen.

His mentality alone warrants a starting spot. Surround him with good players and goals go skkkrrrr

If he does not perform then on the bench. Right now no else is playing any better.

Yes. Long term we need to work on a system that can be effective when any player is not available...not build around one player and especially not a player of his age and levels of performance. Both he and Cavani should be “plan b” or used sparingly until we figure out how to use Rashford, Greenwood, Sancho, Amad, Elanga etc. Effectively.

Wouldn't mind from time to time as long as it helps keep him fit for the most important games, I remember Zidane did this, in the beginning Ronaldo was frustrated but come the second part of the season, the guy was phenomenal...

No. Many deserve to be benched or not even included in our squad, but Ronaldo absolutely ain’t one.

No. Only reason I'd say yes is to watch the morons that think he's the problem squirm.

Yes, we need to bench our best goalscorers. Goals are over rated anyway.

Yes! For a run of 5-10 games to see if there's a reaction in how we play.

I swear, some threads are made just to see how much shit they can stir and for the attention that follows it.

This is one of them.

Exactly he was even benched in his prime and he’s far from that now. He’s just another mere mortal now. Use him as such. You guys are Ronaldo crazy

“can we ever bench ronadlo” well we pay his wages so yes, yes we can

“But, standards”

Guys a sore loser and always has been and our squad has been relying on overhyped kids to deliver the goods. We knew all that bringing him back.

Are we asking if he should regularly be on the bench? Or if he's too good to be on the bench.

For me, as long as he's fit and in form, he should be starting most games. But if he's out of form, then he shouldn't be undroppable.

We don't have better options than him though, currently.

No, but reports from reddit fantasyPL sub are that he's picked up another injury in training (separate from the one that kept him out for villa)

We were the "bunch of individuals" just last season - now instead of any sort of tactic in the first team developing together like Gegenpressing - our main tactic is to just simply passing the ball to Ronaldo and hoping he scores.

I'd rather have 11 individuals playing their best than all trying to get the best out of a single striker like its RVN.

If Ronaldo was on the bench the rest of the team wouldn't be playing like they are his slaves. He is good enough as a player who comes off the bench to score goals in the 90's like he does in the CL - but starting PL games and asking all our players to pass to him in the hardest league in the world - pass to him when he has no first touch or link up play? No thank you.

Ok, bench Ronaldo. Now who starts in his place? Mason who can’t hit a cows ass with a banjo at the moment and refuses to pass instead of stupid shots all the time? Marcus who is woefully out of form and looks manic depressive? Martial who wants out? Doesn’t seem a very good selection to be honest.

The only difference between when you play with or without Ronaldo is that you somehow win much more without him despite playing equally terribly as a team.

Maybe he's just bad juju (luck) and should be banished from the country on the grounds it's better to be lucky than good, and when he's playing you're neither.

Yes, put our only truly elite world class footballer to the bench. Let’s not hold the players around him accountable at all, let’s put it on one striker who’s screaming out for the ball but the bluffers around can’t get get it to him. Bruno, Maguire and Rashford more deservedly need to be benched not Ronaldo.

You still think he's currently elite. Bless.

Do you like the knockout stages of the champions league, I do. We wouldn’t be there without Ronaldo. He, Cavani and Bruno are the only true match winners in the squad but sadly Bruno and to a lesser extent Cavani have been stinking up the joint. Ronaldo is a legend, even if he’s lot a step, he’s a winner unlike the other bluffers in our squad.

Do you get paid to make insane posts? Probably the best passer of the ball in our squad, maybe only behind Pogba & can kill a ball dead if it was dropped from the moon but apparantly he has no touch.
