Watching the DYR video again has really pissed me off. It’s turning into Fifa where you need to start editing pre or in game just to fix it because of their incompetence.

Their response to the video has been crap as well.

Also Miles seems a bit up himself and the way he acts Twitter makes me think he won’t give a shit.

he definitely doesn’t. One of those that blocks people if he doesn’t like what they say.

They talk about realism but then forget that I can start a new game as a manager with no qualifications as Real Madrid/City/Barcelona etc. How people create tactics that make CBs score 30+ goals a season. How you can take clubs from the Conference to the PL with back to back promotions if you have beta tactics.

also with DYR I understand it takes time but we know how long seasons take in the game. Who has the time to get to year 2100 or beyond to finally unlock better youth (seemingly by that point it can still be shite due to the locked variables they place on it). Hyper-realism doesn’t work in the way they want or think it should for the game. I’d wager most people get 10-15 seasons (if that) into a game and then have an itch to begin a new save. If the youth rating started to change more fluidly 20-30 seasons in game assuming all of the other variables are in check (winning CL, good coefficient etc) then you’d retain far more people.

Read his AMA on Reddit from 2015. He’s a condescending twat. It was probably one of the worst I’ve seen. He can’t take any criticism whatsoever.

You're being far too generous. There is a tweet saying that the quality of young players coming through will be dictated by the country's standing in world football. Now on the forums they're saying world ranking has no effect.

With there being nothing you can really do to improve the youth rating for certain countries in a save it just becomes a bit pointless for a decent portion of the players it was aimed at.
I disagree I think people just got overexcited, myself included. DYR is in the game but it has to be correctly balanced and I think they’ve just been cautious with it, which I think is understandable as it’s a major change.

For nations with the correct inbuilt settings yes.
Regens have never been influenced by just YR. They didn't say that game importance or economic factors would also be dynamic.

The said "youth rating would be based on a nations standing in the game" or something along those lines which again is also based on multiple factors.

No because that would be stupid
not really. Are you Miles?

if a team is number 1 in the world then why is it stupid to assume that the country would think, hey let’s pump more money into football in the country, football would rise as a popular sport etc. what’s stupid is having fixed pre game stats like developing state meaning some countries can’t get high youth ratings but then Brazil can.

Im saying it should have an impact on the other things which it isn’t.
Not really because the world ranking system is in itself flawed.

Their implementation of the way DYR works in this game I think is perfectly fine. I think they have been slightly cautious with the actual rates of growth which again I think is perfectly fine. I've watched the Zealand video (which is extremely clickbait) and read through the forum and I think their explanation of the way it works makes sense.

This whole thing is way overblown. People are not understanding what influences the way regens are produced and their quality of them.

But not world ranking. Like absolutely zero.

How regens have functioned isn't really relevant in the discussion, unless you're pointing out it's a bit weird that creating a good structure yourself means your FA is less likely to want to improve the country as a whole.

Some of the things being static prevents DYR working in those countries.

It absolutely is because YR is not the only thing dictating the quality of regens. YR is not the be-all and end-all.

Having good youth facilities increasing the quality of regens is not a new feature though, so it's not relevant to the discussion on DYR. That, and DYR is an increase country-wide not just your club or ones you've managed to pull up with you.

Southend have gone mental on deadline day and have bid for every single CM I have. I reject one bid so they offer for the next player.

Finally started up my traditional Feyenoord save and pipped Ajax to the title on the final day of the season. A week before the summer transfer window I get raided by English clubs and lose Senesi (40 mil to Utd), Sinisterra (42 mil to Spurs), Conteh (8 mil to WBA), Azarkan (3 mil to BHA), Toornstra (free to Bournemouth). Also, Kokcu is out for 6 months with an ACL tear. As deadline day approached things looked bleak for a title repeat. And then this deadline day happened:

Moukoko - 12 mil
Demir - 14mil
Camavenga 1.5 mil loan
Gilmour - 900k loan
Dagba - 2 mil

I'm going to walk the league.

I finished the tenth season of my Weymouth reign and as usual fell away with our usual ease in the second half of the season, ending Jan on 60 points, finishing the season with 62. Infuriating, but I had long since given up.

So, i sent the lemons on their holidays, fairly certain that the strikers would miss their flights. And I renewed a few contracts and went on holiday for a bit. finally I got past the 3rd of July and got the 'part of the furniture' achievement and promptly resigned to the shock of the non-league world.

The papers bombarded me asking why I had left and what was next for me. I remained upbeat although I wanted to say that it was because of a bunch of bottle jobs that I signed that can beat League Two Salford in the FA Cup but apparently can't win a single game in 2031. wankers.

So, i'm pottering about and threw a cheeky application in for the vacant Manager position at the Canadian national team which they politely laughed off. A bit rude I thought, I did have the forward thinking to gain my badges while I was at Weymouth, but never mind.

Then all of a Sudden I get a call from Aberdeen.....and they want to talk to me.

Do you think you can qualify for the Europa Conference League? You bet your wee bonnie scot I can me laddy, lets do this.

I met the squad and thought they were better at least than what I had at Weymouth, but what are the opposition like? let's find out. first game is away to Inverness in the Betfred cup.

Second season with Hertha Berlin (last season came second on GD to Beyern) but won the cup. History is going to repeat itself, I was 5 points clear with 6 games to go but now I'm third, 1 point behind Bayern but 3 behind Dusseldorf!? with 4 games left

Still in it at the point though. That Dusseldorf performance is a bit weird.

It is bizarre. They're predicted to finish 14th. But get this, they just played Bayern, will the wheels fall off?

No.

Who is that scoring a hattrick? Oh just a player I loaned them who has 23 goals in 26 games.

Current league table. I am in the final of the cup again, also odd as its against St Pauli, 13th in second division.

I assume you can't just recall the guy due to the loan fee? Would be awkward for him returning to the club after helping beat you to the title.

Finally got to my 2nd season (summer transfer window right now) on my Man United save, after winning the PL, Champions League, FA Cup in my first season. AWB started to show concern about wanting a new contract so I started negotiations, except he asked for £240k/week, and I refused to offer to offer him more than 150k. This led to breakdown in our relationship and he requested a transfer (I obliged). So I ended up selling AWB to Real Madrid for £60 mill and I sold Jesse Lingard to Arsenal for £50 mill (straight up transfer fees, no add ons), and United fans are really upset that I sold both of them  This is despite the fact that I signed Mbappe on free transfer, Milenkovic for a bargain price ( £15 mill). The board is "content" with my sales but really disappointed that I let Cavani go for free, as they feel that I should have commanded a transfer fee for a guy out of contract :houllier: My squad started forced a meeting with me that they want a right back, I told them I would use youth (I plan to promote Dalot as starting RB for now). That has turned into a "promise" to my squad and I have no idea if Dalot & Vagnoman (my new young RB signing) fulfill that promise.

The fanbase/board have crazy evaluation standards in this game. I've done an incredible job (dominated the league), made the right signings, and they're still really hard to please. On a side note, City ended up signing Haaland this window for £110 mill (up to £136 mill with addons), which sucks because I wanted him but didn't go for him as I ended up getting Mbappe.

Never expect the board or fans to be logical in this game.

Selling young prospects like Lingard never goes down well either way.

My time at Slovan Bratislava is coming to an end. Insane season from the team had us win the league with 25% of the games left to play and we ended with W30 D2 L0. Added the Slovak Cup to the trophy cabinet and after getting through a tough CL group, we beat Juve in the 1st knockout round before Dortmund beat us in the quarter finals.

I'll be heading off to Russia to take over at CSKA, who haven't been doing too well recently.
I've just seen the budgets for the next manager here though, the board have gone crazy and handed out £27m and trebled the wage budget.

£50 mill up front for 29 year old Lingard is ridiculous return though, and way above his actual value. Fans are equally furious with me for AWB, who was sold for an absurd £60 mill upfront.

Having a ridiculous season with my Newcastle team.

We're unbeaten at the start of April with 8 games to go. If we finish the season unbeaten we will break Arsenal's record of 49 games.

Also scored 110 goals so looking to break the most goals record but it might not happen.

We've won the Community Shield, Super Cup, Carabao, likely the Prem and in the Quarters of the CL and Semis of the FA Cup.

Think I'll stay at Newcastle until the new stadium is built and then have that for another year or two.

Sounds like you're going the way of my PSG journeyman save where you have a team that requires little work.

I do think this version seems very easy though. I'm in Feb, we have the lowest wage budget in the league - 1.7m per annum whereas every other club has at least 2m per annum. The top 5 in the league have a wage budget of 5m per annum. Despite that we are top of the league by 6 points and have two games in hand on everyone else.

Which year are you? After year 5 the game becomes somewhat of a joke, usually the AI has done so much damage to their squads that they will get nowhere near the points they got in the first couple of seasons.

2026 so aye, fits what you're saying but I haven't really struggled on any save I've done yet - Everton, journeyman and now Dulwich.

Yeah I just won every single competition and went unbeaten all season. I’m a Newcastle legend now and on 4600 points in the Hall of Fame. About 600 behind Pep in second.

Okay I think it also depends on what one perceives as struggling, I for feel like I'm struggling when I have won the PL 4 times in a row but lose a cup final to Liverpool and don't beat them 5-0 every game. Although they really have been nerved, or at least AI Klopp's tactics in 22.3 ME patch.

I also don't get why people think FM these days is easy. I used to be able to take a relegation candidate and win the league by mid march easily in older FM versions, don't feel this is possible anymore to that degree unless you use an exploit where you GK can score 70 goals a season like at the start of this years version.
