I've really no idea what on earth is going on with this team. Our opening 30 minutes was the best we've played in months. Our press was coordinated and when we didn't press we defended with a tight shape which Villa found hard to bypass. Also, we did well in winning the ball back and quickly countering. The final pass was poor too often, but the intent was encouraging.

But then our energy level dropped and we never regained it. You can't expect to press for a full 90 minutes, but our defensive shape, which was so tight for half an hour, went to shit after that and we never recovered.

Changes should have been made in midfield as Matic was obviously gassed after 50 minutes, but other than that I'm at a loss as to what else should have been done. We were fine and then just turned to shit.
No, our coaches didn't react to Villa's changes. Left us high and dry with two v four in the midfield.

Once you realise most of our goals are coming from other team errors, it becomes obvious we are poor at creating multiple chances

One thing we can all agree on is that we are an utterly shambolic team and we do not belong in the CL.

Also Rangnick, while perhaps good at rebuilding is a mediocre manager at best. Came in with a good fixture run and already dropped 7 points.

Hmmmm. Pretty hopeless second half. Utd just stink of failure right now.

We were begging for a fresh set of legs from 50 minutes. Being constantly overrun and the second goal was not a reflection of how the game was going.

I have no idea why Ralf made no subs to the midfield until the bloody 88th minute.

Absolutely atrocious.

Hitting new low week after week. I'd say losing 2 goal advantage will kill the confidence of the players, but it's already rock bottom.

Get a good central midfielder in this month or it’s going to be horrific for the rest of the season.

After realizing (and making the point to mention it post match) Monday that we were much more in control when adding Donny to the middle, Ralf proceeds to wait until they draw (and then some...) to do so again.

Should have put him on latest at 2-1 goal.

Have to agree with the poor game management comment. Also the minute Elanga went off and Sancho came on our intensity dropped. Sancho is about as fast and athletic as Mata.

Won’t be finishing top 4.

Absolutely zero midfield control poor management of the game cost us.

That’s where we’re at though. Not good enough almost everywhere on the park and not strong enough mentally to see decent performances through.

How can our players not be able to keep the ball? Why were we just lumping it up the pitch?

It's just becoming comecial now.

Controlled 35 mins from the first 45. fecked up really bad in the second half.

I am getting tired of Rangnicks excuses now, he needs to find solutions quick.

Fecked up a 2-0, can really only blame ourselves. CL looks more and more impossible every week.

Meh, after the first 30 minutes, we looked so static. Get this season over quickly so I can look forward to next season with new manager.

Thought that was the inevitable weekly disappointment out of the way, but I see we're playing Wednesday. So another game to spoil my tea.

Criminal not to bring on donny for matic at half time.

Matic and fred got overrun the entire second half. Matic never won a ball in the last half an hour and fred gave away the ball dozens of time.

Scandalous.

Shocking from the manager. Clearly visible some players were fecked and he still didn't make a sub. Matic should of came off.

I think we overpaid for Sancho by 70 million too.

Better performance than recent wins and a better attitude. But this will keep happening as long as we have a midfield like this. Fred is not good enough, matic is done and McT is not a holding midfielder. Club need to invest in January. Buying a mid table midfielder would improve us.

Really happy with that play. I never expected more than a draw anyway. We were gassed at 70 minutes. Loads of positives. Ralf is not the man though.

Is there a more mentally weak group of players in the league than what we have right now? I struggling to remember a Utd squad that has been as mentally weak as this lot.

Yet again folded like a cheap chair as the merest hint of a bit of pressure , we are a mid table level and no more.

Thought we played a good deal better tonight than what we have been. Plenty of positives even if the result wasn't what we wanted.
Win our next two with continued improvements and things will start to look better.

So far from the top. Frustrating. Now I've got to spend some money online just to make my weekend better. Fecking midfield is gash.
