Where do we want to finish?

It's clear top 4 is not going to happen.

So it's really a race for the Europa League or conference League. Question is, do we want to be in either of those competitions? I'd rather have a clean slate next season with no 2nd (or 3rd tier) European distractions.

We can still get 4th, a lot can happen between now and then.

At this time of the month, our only option left is via the back door

...by winning the Champions League

Not getting 4th. Lucky to finish top 9. Want the season to end after inevitable disappointment in the CL.

West Ham and Arsenal will collapse when things get heated.

I think we will finish fourth. And I sense that third isn't out of reach yet. We have 2 games in hand.

Spurs as well? We can’t string 3 wins together, that will cost us.

As high as possible, no point in over thinking things. One game at a time and the season will look after itself.

8th and a fa cup would be better than 5th, 6th or 7th. Done with the europa and don't want any association with conference league

As we watch the gap to 4th grow. We’re basically about 7 pts behind arsenal already

Maybe a bottom half finish is needed. Maybe that’ll finally light a fire?

Winning the FA Cup puts you right back in Europa.

Spurs are simply too poor to compete. They need to rebuild.

They have too many weak spots in their starting 11 and can't perform with the consistency needed for the top 4.

I want the next manager to have a full season of just Premier League. If we are going to allow a Ten Hagg (example) to come in, I want him to clean house and likely sign a whole bunch of new talent whilst keeping a handful of genuine superstars that can be reformed. If that was the case, then i'd want that new/fresh squad to have a full season of PL and domestic competition to find their footing. I don't want Europa League or Conference or whatever. So probably 8th-9th?

This squad needs to be decimated and rebuilt. We are almost a decade past SAF and all I see is a squad that stinks of failed managers.

4th is still on, 18 games left, can easily make that up with a good run. The aim should always to finish in the highest possible place and work from there. Losing a load of games to finish 8th just to avoid a competition is bad practice for any aspiring team.

The Europa league is much better than no european football. We need games to build as a team. Lets face it. Next season is a whole new rebuild.

The conference is no use to us. It should be limited to teams outside the top 5 leagues at least.

Aspiring team? We can't even play pressing football for more than 30 mins against mid-table dross. Furthermore, this "top 4 is the benchmark" mentality seems to be achieving nothing more than increasing contract wages and players never leaving the squad.

Superfluous thread this. We all want to win the league. If that's not an option, I don't care if we finish 4th or 17th. Club needs a total reset. Sign the most promising manager, get rid of all the divas in the squad, and make the team better every year. Make sure to sign players for the team and not because of their name. Then we'll be on the right path.

4th place us still ours if we just get some degree of consistency.

West Ham proved last year they can't last and will go in a run of 4-5 pts from 6 matches at least once.

Arsenal are more inconsistent than we are and nowhere near as strong.

Spuds, asides from being Spursy are going to struggle with the number of rearranged games and also have been poor in large patches.

No doubts about 1-3 apart from Chelsea and Pools final rank but we are best placed to take 4th.

it won't be prestigious and might be ine if the worst 4th place finishes in years but for a team in chaos and rebuilding (again) it will do.

Not ruling out a dark horse winning the CL against the odds either...

The Europa is our standards these days and it may actually be easier to qualify for the CL via the Europa league given that we have been doing well in this competition in recent seasons while being very inconsistent in the PL.

Very much prefer to qualify for the CL via a Europa league win than a 4th place with no trophies.

This run of “easy” fixtures which were all “winnable” is going really well. 2 points from 9 in 3 of them. Wait till February/March fixtures come round.

Clearly we want to finish top 4. Anything less will be seen as failure by the board. They won't have believed for a second we'd finish 6th or 7th after finishing 2nd last year and spending quite a bit of money in the summer.

4th is definitely the goal this season. It'll be tough the way we are playing but we have a chance.

Yeah either play the young prospects in those competitions or like you say just finish out of the european places full stop

Barring a dramatic change to the season I think we'll be 8th. Wolves are better than us, but past them nobody is good really so our individual quality should at least see us above the rest.

8th.

Europa league and conference are a complete waste of time and energy.

Just like Ole’s take over season, we will squander and throw away multiple chances to secure 4th. Only this season it will be much sooner as we’re playing nowhere near as good as that season. We are fecking shit. Don’t really care where we finish but I’d like to see Ronaldo and company struggle in the conference league just to cement their massive egos. Bunch of serial losers we have in this squad.

What's the alternative, losing more and more games? Do you enjoy watching your team lose games?

There is no spoon.
I genuinely don't care where we finish. I just want the toxic players and drama out of the club ASAP so we can focus on playing good football again.
