I feel sick. Another 6 months with 36 year old ronaldo doing feck all. Greenwood needs to rise to the occasion and be our main striker.

Time to move on, just a pity he wouldn’t stay and fight for the left forward position but I guess that shows how weak he is mentally.

He’s done absolutely nothing for us. Peaked on his debut.

So 50 million down the drain, as Tony Martial is loaned to Spain?

I can't say it's a good deal as I don't think our other options are better. Hope he does well.
That's what hurt the most. Our other options are complete shite. How can we loan a our best striker when the other options are two 36 year olds. This club is such a mess. No sense of squad planning. I just hope it all works out and we dont mess up our top 4 run because of lack in attacking quality.

The amount of sad faces in this thread proves why this fanbase doesn't deserve good things. This much love for a moody half-arsed underperformer.

And if Martial had been on the bench we still wouldn't have had a striker - he's an inconsistent but talented winger. Wish him all the best at Sevilla and that he gets a good move in the summer.
Do you really want players stinking up the training ground with their toxicity? We've had these with Sanchez and loads of others over the past 3-4 years. Fergie was shrewd in this regard - its partly the talent of the player, partly the form but a large part is the attitude.

Fergie would never keep players around who were breaking the vibe of the team. But then, Fergie had a team with loads of leaders who would have dealt with it before he had to get involved.

I'm liking the clearing of the decks. Now if we can only find a buyer for Perriera

We aren't loaning our best striker, we are loaning a player who has been utter gash for 16 months, has no fight in him, and is streaky as hell

I am so sorry, I know this is a difficult time for you. I hope you'll be ok xx
This sarcasm is ridiculous considering we are fighting for our lives in the league. Are you actually confident we can finish top 4? Yesterday could have easily been another draw.

I'm not confident, and keeping Martial around wouldn't change that at all. You're living in a weird dimension calling that lad our best striker.

Martial is currently better than Ronaldo and Cavani. Also much better for team fluidity. This is not an argument im willing to have so if you disagree thats fine.

Very talented player who had no desire to be a great player for United. Unacceptable.

I'd agree with the second point, IF he had any consistency, he doesn't.

Real shame that it ultimately hasn’t worked out, thought he could be one of the worlds best players for us and showed that in glimpses. All the the talent in the world.

Good luck Tony.

Last time I checked a loan isn’t a free transfer, how’s Keita doing?
I'm just kidding around. He hasn't lived up to that song though. We've learnt from previous expensive flops not to make songs until they start doing well consistently.

It'll be interesting to see if Martial has a future with United long term. He'll come back to a new manager.

:D

I'm surprised to see loads of people come out and bemoan the fact the club are putting a player who wants to leave and is on the periphery (and has shown very little for a very long time) in the shop window. If he bangs in the goals there I won't take it as a sign that he should be leading the United line either. He's had a lot of chances and he's not done well enough. The club needs to continue getting players out, so what if one or two matches for the remainder of the season might have been a chance for them to play. Carrying a bloated squad with loads of unhappy players on the fringes when a short-term manager is trying to create a footballing side for the first time in 6-7 years here, is just detrimental.

With regards to his particular position, he's not a #9, so he's not a ready-made replacement for Cavani or Ronnie, and we've two other forwards who also don't really have it (at the moment at least) to play #9. So as a left sided forward, we've got Rashford, Elanga and Sancho.

This is absolutely the right decision. Hope he scores loads of goals there and boosts up his price tag.

Options are not quality enough. None of those players offer the skill set of Martial in the middle. Only greenwood is technical enough for the position but we play him on the right. If the manager chooses to play greenwood as striker then I’m fine letting Martial go but I doubt he will.

We can’t keep experimenting at this stage of the season.

Look on the bright side.

At least now you get to see him play, he might even get to play 90 minutes.

That could be a good 6 wanks every game, if you manage your time properly and judge so you blow every time he touches the ball.

No doubt. If Martial up-front all this time, we'd be higher on the table. Not to mention those CL games.

100% agree... I'm shocked at the reactions in here. This is a guy that a few weeks ago got outpaced by Cavani (who was behind him) in chasing a loose ball.

Best for all parties. Love Martial, but he never kicked on and didn't deal well when up against it. Also never really stepped up to cement a position. A shame he never fulfilled his potential here, but i hope he shows how good he can be elsewhere. Had some great moments here.

Hope he does well and gets his career back on track. Looked one hell of potential player under LVG and Ole at times.

Genuinely impressed how you've kept up this gimmick for so long. Will you continue it on once he's officially left us?
Look through all my posts since he has arrived Ive never doubted his commitment to this club. You guys don't realize that many of our players cant fulfill their potential because the squad planning is terrible with all the nonsensical managerial appointments. Martial has been here during a very unsettled and prolonged transition. He has done okay considering it.

Just look at a player like pogba who hasn't fulfilled his time here because the club thought he should play deeper for 3 years when his best position has always been further up the pitch. Martial has always tried his best for us but it wont always be easy. So much criticsm towards him for having 1 in 5 bad games.
