Cannot wait for this scumbag to piss off, what a waste of flesh
Wow...
I mean, Ole decided to keep him during summer when he had offers to leave. He then proceeded to not play him, why should Lingard miss out on a big signing on fee and a better salary in what probably will be his last big contract?
We're too quick to judge players at times when it's our shambolic management that needs to be criticized.

I don't recall getting substantial offers for him, even from West Ham Moyes said:

Irons boss Moyes went on the record with his desire to sign Lingard on a permanent basis, but has now explained it became apparent early in the window that it wasn't a possibility.

"No nothing like that at all," Moyes said when asked if Lingard has turned down an offer from the Hammers.

"Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] made it clear to me quite early in the transfer window that he wanted to keep him.

"So I knew pretty early in the transfer window that he was staying at Manchester United. I had a private conversation with Ole who made it clear that he was staying."

For me, I just can't stand him, all those stupid social media crap he was putting, the clothing line, the JLINGZ bullshit, being crap on the pitch, and he's fecking 29, if he really cared about his career, he would have forced his way out of the club as it was evident he doesn't warrant a place in the starting lineup. Can't wait to get rid of him...

Ok, I got to the Moyes quotes, then continued reading the last paragraph in Moyes voice in my head thinking it was still quotes from him. Was quite funny!:lol:

Hot mic'd Moyes. Probably not too far from what he'd say tbh

I’m sure he’s going to wait till the last min and try to get a new contract. He better hope a high profile team comes in for him. His JLINGZ brand sounds much better as JLINGZ by Jesse Lingard of Manchester than Jesse Lingard of Burnley.

I actually used to defend this guy but now I think he is toxic to have around. It’s clear he is totally unambitious and only cares about money. He doesn’t even care about trying to play for England in the World Cup.

Find it weird the club are willing to loan a player with six months left.

He only stayed because he was promised game time. Which he didn't get. Why wouldn't he want to get a loan prior to leaving on a free in the summer?

If its the only choice then its better than paying their wages for 6 months. I don't think its what they would have chosen but the other club/player have a lot of the power here. Perhaps the player doesn't want to be sold as well.

Papers today are saying Newcastle are willing to pay 500k a week for him.

Considering he's only on around 100k a week, I can think of a few hundred thousand reasons to let him go on loan.

He'll be paying for most of Ronaldo's wages for 5 months.

What's weird he doesn't want to be sold, I think we did similar thing with Cleverly as well .
It makes sense from his perspective - none of the teams he would be interested in want to buy him right now, so a loan to Newcastle, see whether they stay up, and then just have a pick of the bunch of most lower-to-mid table PL sides when he's a free agent.

I am glad that we're stocked with so many players with the United DNA who love Manchester United and who understand what playing for this club is all about.

Never bought the "he stayed because he was promised games" nonsense. Reckon that was PR guff planted with journalists by Lingards people.

Jesse will have known full well he wasn't getting many games going into this season. Even now under a new manager and not getting many minutes he still doesn't seem too keen to leave.

Which makes me wonder if he understands how jeopardizing his decisions are for his playing career. He will definitely never wear an England shirt again if he chooses to stay in a team that has no room for him whatsoever.

He seems to have ambition in that he wants to stay at Man Utd and doesn’t want to downgrade his club. However, this seems to be mixed with a delusion that he is good enough. Feels like a clingy relationship where one person can’t accept it’s over haha. As you say at this point, he has damaged his career and is even damaging his future contract. I don’t believe after being out of action so long and another year older that he will get this huge signing on bonus and contract that people seem to think he will.

If Newcastle want to trow £5M loan fee and pay his wages, seems a good deal to me, let him go.

What happens if he goes out on loan & has a major injury ?

I'm assuming no pay check

They usually return back to the parent club to rehab and be paid as normal - happened to Chong recently.

I think the poster meant once his contract ends this summer if he suffers from a long term injury, for this reason alone I wouldn’t be suprised that Lingard is unwilling to go out on loan and he is waiting to sign a 5 year contract with an attractive signing on fee in a few months time, as opposed to reports that we are not willing to let him leave.

That is exactly what I meant. I'm guessing that's why the player doesn't want a loan move because its too big a gamble.

But isn't his goal to play regularly and break into the England team? I can't imagine he'd be opposed to a loan move at all - United just want the best deal.

That is not the case at all, apparently.
"Lack of respect"

And his little stunt in his West Ham shirt was what exactly ?

Boo fecking hoo. The club have a figure in mind that they want covered, if you are worried so much about respect then how about your future club not ponying up the requisite cash.

Hope he moans his way into the reserves.

It was a win-win for him. He'll never play for a club like United again, so why not give it one last season - knowing that whatever happens, the end of his contract provides him with a great safety net in the summer of 2002.

Exactly this. It pisses me off that people just regard gossip columns as fact. Man Utd fans 20 years in the future will be saying this to their kids and it will continue to be a fact in history. I call bull. Why on earth would Ole promise him anything but to give him games if he can. The best he could do is offer him some games from the bench and in the FA cup or something. In other words a bit part player which he exactly is. If Ole was so keen to play him and he was so keen to stay then he would have signed a contract. He went to West Ham to get into the England team - thats it. He failed. Then he stayed to run out his contract. Thats it. Thats the more plausible explanation. Even if its not we dont know the truth and so everyone should stop peddling the 'Oh poor Jessie has been messed around by Ole story'. And all the while he just stirs up sht like wearing West Ham shirts. He's the same as Pogba. Probably a nice guy in around the dressing room and probably works hard in training but they are snakes stabbing United in the back through media every chance they get.
If he goes to Newcastle its as bad as going to Liverpool or City. They are now one of our main contenders. Maybe not for a few years but they are planning to take our spot even if it is fourth and Jessie can be the catalyst to keep them up and help them do it.

Plus Newcastle are friggin rich as sht but they wont even pay a fee. So not only do we lose his fee he wants us to loose the fee right now and not even put in what 4 extra months of work at United. He's dead to me. I want him nowhere near United or talking about them on Sky in the future like he's a past legend or something. United fans should universally disown him.

took you how long to come to this conclusion?
He's the epitome of a celebrity player leveraging his association with being a United player for non football related stuff.
He's exactly the sort we should never have on our books. feck him off as soon as possible

Indeed and the ''Poor Jesse'' story has taken on a life of it's own on here. Absolutely no substance in it but it's been repeated so often that it's became fact.
