See this is why us mortals should never challenge the supreme authority of a referee. They posses ancient and long since fordbidden knowledge, like the shape of a football.

It was hard to see, but it rather looked out of touch. The drama is hilarious though.

To be fair I wouldn't feel confident to make a VAR ruling based on the two pictures in the tweet. The angles can be incredibly misleading.

Random question but any idea when the Dutch league is gonna resume with fans in?
Hoping to visit De Kuip before the end of the season.

It looked like the ball was out of play and no-one would have complained if the linesman would have dissallowed it.. However I think Makkelie was spot on in his post-match interview why its very hard for the VAR to dissallow the goal based on the available images... The curve off the ball and there not being a direct camera view without angle cause inconclusive evidence..

Ajax should consider itself very very lucky the linesman did raise his flag, but I think it's the right call by the VAR.

I'm hoping some fans will be allowed back in after next week. This Tuesday our PM is giving a presser announcing the lift on some more restrictions.

Im quite sure it will be before end of season though, Any new covid variant not withstanding.

An embarrassing fellow that guy. Goal could never be disallowed but if the linesman called for ball out of play, there would be no big deal. You just can't determine based on the camera-angles or human eye.

Fraser, Jans, Cocu.
Wouldn't RVN be one of the contenders as he's managing your reserves side? Because I was under the impression with the way RVN's trajectory has been , that he'll succeed Schmidt

He said he doesn't want to this summer. He wants to build up experience.

I think he would do well to first coach a another team in the Eredivisie.

Fraser Jans and Cocu seem like such 'lazy' options without much imagination. Schmidt was the opposite of that actually.

Fraser seems to get results whereever he is and I think his presentation is very good. His football is however not really exciting and quite conservative and on the safe side usually, so Im not sure PSV is into that. Jans has been doing well at Twente last year and this year and with quite some entertaining football as well, while giving chances to youth. However he has been around for a long time already and its always been quite on/off.. Cocu would be the laziest of choices.

I agree all of them arent in the league PSV should be after.. Especially if you want to continue to challenge and Ajax side with more depth/resources, you need something who makes more out of a team than it is. The above options will just do a fine job I think, but wont have an effect such as Arne Slot af Feyenoord for example.

The thing is I also wouldn't know who they should be after.. Ronald Koeman? Perhaps the someone like Kasper Hjulmand, if he would be open for it...?

Given they already went with Schmidt, maybe they're going to look a bit further and consider people like Potter or Hasenhüttl. No idea if they'd be interested in joining PSV (especially Potter probably has better prospects), but there might be other coaches like that internationally as well. I am also seeing a lot of praise for René Hake at Utrecht. Him or AZ's Pascal Jansen might be other options, maybe? A bit out of lef field I guess, but then there are no obvious candidates anyway.

Jansen comes from PSV. I like him but i dont think he has shown enough at AZ to warant a step up to PSV. Hake is massively underperforming at Utrecht this year given their squad and potential.

If I were psv i would hope Bosz has a bad run at Lyon this month (crucial weeks for him against a lot of direct competitors for CL football) and becomes available. Heck Bosz is for me as Ajax fan without a shed of doubt the only (realistic) option I would want to succeed Ten Hag if he leaves...

Bozs I'll never understand the fandom he has. What do you think of Jonk as option for PSV?

Bosz is for me the light that made Ajax play like Ajax again after the horror years of Frank de Boer and identifies the turnaround at Ajax.

Jonk I dont know. He is an idealist in terms of style and giving chances to youth so I really like that aspect. However I think he is yet to coach an Eredivisie team and has everything to prove as a manager at a bigger club than Volendam.

I wonder if Koeman would be interested.. He could also be biding his time until he takes over from Van Gaal at the National Team again..

PSV watcher Marco Timmer from Voetbal International mentions Cocu, Koeman, Fraser, Jonk and Bosz as candidates.

He's trying to play brave and entertaining football. How could you not like that?
Bosz plays kamikaze football which is cool for teams that don't "need" to win. His Heracles was brilliant to watch always losing games 3-4 etc, but defending is a big part of football and his teams don't do that.

That was his state when he arrived in Germany and it cost him, but I'm not sure it's accurate anymore. Even during his short-lived spell at Dortmund he toned down his defensive line a bit and used a back three. At Leverkusen he regularly deployed something like a 3-6-1 and even with the meltdown towards the end he got fired on 31 goals against in 26 games, in comparison Leverkusen have already conceded 32 goals in 20 games this season.
I don't really know what's going on at Lyon currently, but based on what I've seen from his teams, your posts sounds more like an outdated cliche.

All my posts? :(

Honestly though you might be right, Ive not followed him that closely since he left Dortmund, but his myth has never wavered in some sections of the Dutch football crowd.

What I've seen so far at Lyon suggests they've been "unlucky" conceding late goals without having given that many chances to the opposition. Too many individual errors end up costing them the points. And a few of their draws should have been wins. And as always, it is too early to judge a coach on his first half-season having to play League + Europe. + all the international breaks disrupting the work. So obviously with less time to implement his tactics.

It helps that Schick is in the form of his life and other competitors didn't exactly benefit from their coaching changes. If that was the case last season Bosz might still be there.

I highly rate Vitesse's Letsch. Think Fraser is good as well, but he plays really boring football. If I were a fan I wouldn't take him.
