I fear if he doesn’t score tonight then when will he score, all on a plate for him in this game so far

Even in Van Persie's wonder year, or when Ibra came here they both went on fairly long goal droughts.
Ronaldo's not quite up to that yet, but could do with getting his 15th of the season soon, as he's been stuck on 14 for ages seemingly.

Outside his finishing I think he’s been good tonight, link up play is decent. Getting into good positions, he will score one tonight.

I know. It’s what makes him great blah blah blah. I’m not that fussed, to be honest. It’s a weird quirk though.
I’m not saying that it makes him great. It’s petulant. That’s clear to see. What I’m saying is; he’s been like that since he’s been at United — he’s a diva.

Oh right, yeah. I do actually think it’s part of what makes him great. Utterly single-minded obsession with scoring goals.
But he’s utterly insane as well in terms of talent, in his pomp I mean.

I understand him being driven and all that but you can’t be just driven and be able to start out as a winger to winger-cum-striker to striker whom just moves like an absolute predator. That’s just pure genius. He’s completed football to borrow a modern phrase.

He’ll get to 5th place
He needs 48 goals to get to 5th place. Even if he is to stay next season too, that would be difficult. Think 10th place is more realistic, if Ronaldo is to stay here until summer 2023.

I don’t want to knock him but he’s a problem for the manager. Not a striker, not a winger. A 37 year old who shouldn’t be playing game after game.

We could bring Rooney in his current state back, and he'd at least have scored twice tonight.

So stiff-legged and predictable.

The goals can't make up for such an abysmal all round player.

His legs have gone. He’s finished. Not a snowball’s chance in hell of taking Rooney’s record. To be fair, it’s crazy how he’s stayed this good for this long.

But not as crazy as the notion we can have a 37 year old as our first choice number 9. Now that really is crazy.

This, he can no longer dribble, he doesnt have the speed to get away from a player, he hasn't got the strength to hold the ball up, he's not a great passer and his finishing is not what it once was. Zlatan during his time here was a better player, lukaku I think also offered more than he does and Martial I think is actually the profile of player that suits us best. I've given him 6 months to see what he's got but I think he hinders us now more than he helps. He will still score some goals because hes ronaldo but I'd be okay letting him leave in the summer.

He would need to get 3 in these types of games to have even the slightest chance to take the record.

It's not just Ronaldos legs that have gone. His first touch, dribbling and off the ball movement has gone to shit. At this stage of the season he has had more poor games than good ones. He's finished as a top level player.

As I said before (which caused tremendous indignation from one of his sycophants) he’s never been a cerebral player. His game has always been entirely built on athleticism. Take that away and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down.

Yes, mate, legs are gone, but are there gone as say the Ronaldo’s gone? What do we know exactly? We know that he scored like 40+ goals last year… I know that no one that’s not called Messi posts these numbers.

The rest of your post relies on exactly how good or bad we are as a team.

Good God I’m disgusted in defending Ronaldo so much but his fortunes should be absolutely mitigated by how utterly woefully Juve and us have been.

This is bizarre. Take it back Pogue.

Yeah he don't look world class. Needs to step it up in the weeks to come.
