I’d like to see him get some games as the striker.. will be nice to have some actual pace up there. May help him having less decisions to make compared to when he’s on the wing.

There’s a player there, it’s doesn’t just go away, he’s obviously just going through it at the moment.

Good god no. There is far less space playing down the middle than on the wing. He would lose the ball every time he got it

He can't hold the ball, he's not physical enough, he can't head the ball well, he's not clinical enough to be a fox in a box

He's obviously going through a horrible run of form but do people really think he's finished at 24? Or did many of you just never really rate him?

Something is clearly going on and maybe he really will never return to his previous best but I think he's earned a chance to try.

I rated him as a talent but always saw some problems with his game, namely his hold up play and passing. I caught some flack on here about two years ago for arguing he wasn't very good technically - which I'll assume nobody is willing to argue with anymore. C'est la vie.

No doubt he's better than what we've seen recently but his confidence looks shot. It's the type of situation where, if he doesn't play well next year, a short-term move might be on the cards, just to give him a bit of breathing room. A Lingard-esque loan etc.

I also do very much think he bought into his own hype. There's nothing wrong with this if you've got the fortitude to deal with bad moments, but I think what we're seeing is that he's more fragile than maybe he assumed. Oftentimes he looks like he doesn't believe in himself out there.

We done that before Cavani came, hence Cavani (and Ighalo) came. All he is good for is playing on the left and cutting inside to shoot

Forget playing at the wings or as a forward, rashford isn't competent enough to be the kitman! He's done, sell him before everyone catches on and his value plummets through the shitter.

Now we just seem to be trying to find a place for him in the team. Is he the boy that owns the ball or something?

he played a season up front and it was obvious he isn’t reliable as a striker that’s why he was moved out of that position to the wing - and to be fair to him, he wasn’t bad out on the left until his injury. He just seem to have lost form and can’t find it back. He might, sadly, end up a back up player that can be brought on as either a winger or a striker.

We don't seem to be trying to find a place for him in the team, we seem to be trying to turn him into something different. He's a left winger and either you believe in him and play him there, or you don't and he'll continue to be an average bench warmer. Rangnick talking about "putting all his energy in" to "improving him" like he seems to think he's done with others (maybe Elanga?) in the last 3 months is a bit odd. Most of our players look just as bad or worse than they did earlier in the season tbh. Particularly in the forward line.

Anyone that says that Rashford is ‘finished’ from a career point is wrong.
There are question marks over his performance, attitude and what he brings to the team currently.

However, players with the ability of Marcus don’t lose it. They can lose the run of themselves and with their manager and coaches, need to find it again.

I would 100% keep him to work under the new manager. Another opportunity, which I believe will bear good performances and a significant contribution to the team.

If it doesn’t, his career still won’t be over. His time at United will.

Agenda peddlers already here I see.

Rashford had a good run and cross and one bad run where he collided with a few defenders. Other than that none of the forwards got the ball in the final 25 minutes of the game.

Has to be sold. Great lad Yadda Yadda Yadda but as a footballer for a club that wishes to win football matches and titles? Never.

Signing an immobile donkey whose hype came from stupid runs forward with the ball.

Good job Utd.

His next performance should be Wednesday PMs questions in Westminster.

He is finished as a United player.

We looked worse when he came on and he didn't do what we needed him to do. Just another poor game in a very poor season for him. I really struggle to watch him play anymore.

I mean if you’ve come on in a Derby with about twenty mins left, it’s a good idea to probably just run and try a bit to make it look like you give a shit.

Anyway I’m sure a fantastically worded apology is currently being written for his Twitter account.

In general I understand why he gets all the critisism. But today he saw the ball two times. He had no chance to get into the game. It's irrational hate for him in here now.

Tbf if he rarely gets the ball you can’t expect him to get into the game. And then lay into him when he doesn’t succeed with the few chances he gets.

He’s woeful atm, granted, but to put it all down to him is not right. The team just couldn’t get hold of it in that second half. No one looked good

And had no options apart from running forward with the ball. Not a single runner with him. Of all the players to blame today, it ain’t him.

Can we stop absolving him with this whole sentiment of "oh he's going through a bad run of form, just needs to get out of it". The fact that he looks like he can't be arsed should be the most disconcerting thing. Get him out this summer, let him be someone else's problem before the club obliges him with a new bumper deal and then we'll struggle to offload him until he's a free agent in 2027.

Can't be too hard on him today. Came on to play with mates who had already given up.

If he ever made the right decision, it would be because he'd have stumbled upon it by accident. When is he ever going to sort himself out? He will get an opportunity under the new manager, but time waits for no man. Needs to snap out of it!

I haven't seen anything from Rashford that even remotely suggests he's Premier League standard for two years.

Nice of him to come on and watch Fred press, well, run around a bit, higher up the pitch than he could be bothered to.

Exactly, I think he touched the ball twice, and on one of those occasions he had no attacking support within 50 yards. It was impossible circumstances.

He seems to get away with this because he's an academy graduate and usually nobody assumes this of them, but he really looks like he just doesn't care.

That's how I saw it as well. He's been bad for some time now, starting and off the bench but can't say much today as we hardly had the ball in their half anyways. What's worrying is that these days when you see Rashford on the pitch, you don't expect him to do anything meaningful anymore. We were shocking in the 2nd half and then Rashford and Lingard as sub options were underwhelming.

Need at least till the end of next season (with 1 year left on his contract) before we can judge him.

Some actually said that.

The excuse he didn’t get the ball is crap.
He made no effort to get involved or to try and win the ball himself.
Didn’t help his team mates and basically gave up within minutes of coming onto the pitch.
Looking a fool trying and not winning anything is far better than jogging around in slow motion like you couldn’t be arsed.
We need a big clear out and this lad should be well and truly on that list.
