@Charlie Foley What have you got against blue crabs? They’re delicious!!

Philly gets a bad rap, but I love it. My brother went to school there and lived in center city and off the main line. Cheesesteaks are one of the top 10 foods on the planet and going to the Linc and Citizens Bank is always entertaining.

Raheem Mostert to the Dolphins.

Trey Sermon is a Mitchell injury away from relevance, or so I hope.

I thought it turned out Rodgers didn’t sign a new deal?
He has now - and the deal he said he wasn’t getting was in fact the deal he signed.

Somehow managed to miss that news, probably too giddy about Wilson.

Looking at the details, can’t help thinking how hilarious it would be if 2022 is a disaster season and he fecks off leaving them with a $63m dead cap hit.

No it wasn't
Rodgers boyfriend to the rescue - what was the difference? I must have misread.

Edit: looks like it’s still $50m per year but 1 less year and as a result less guaranteed money.

All season long we kept hearing how the Saints were in cap space hell, now they have $30m remaining and are in position to acquire Watson's contract.

Cap space isn't really a real thing.

Yes it is. Look at who they've lost to get here. Look at how the Cowboys lost.
Who? They lost Marcus Williams and replaced him with Marcus Maye. Terron Armstead became a FA but might re-sign with them if they land Watson. Other than that the only meaningful losses I see are PJ Williams and Kwon Alexander, perhaps Jordan Mills as well. All of that means nothing in the grand scheme of things if you land a franchise QB.

My point wasn't necessarily that the cap doesn't have roster implications, but rather that you can easily enough work around it short-term.

Saints have met with Watson for a second time. Rumour has it the Saints are his top landing spot. With the new found cap space, it looks more and more likely that Watson will end up in New Orleans.

What’s it gonna cost I wonder, which players may go the other way? MT or Kamara?

I’m guessing:

Deshaun - Nawlins
Baker - Indy
Jimmy G - Cleveland
Jameis - …Carolina?

Perhaps Jimmy G to Indy? A Ryan-Watson swap is also a realistic possibility. Maybe NOLA drafts Pickett then, and Rhule gets stuck with Darnold for another year.

Marcus Williams is really good. Yes a QB is more important but they've made short term decisions for years and the expense of future cap space and now they lost a 25 year old who is one of the best in the league at his position. I get why they made this decisions and agree with them but you have to pay the bill eventually and they are.

Neither. Can imagine a player like Ramczyk could be included if they insist on a quality player in return on top of the draft picks, which would be a tough one to swallow for me but you're landing a top 5 QB so the deal isn't happening without giving up something really valuable.

Feels like Carolina will be the one left standing in this game of musical chairs. And they can’t draft a project like Malik because Rhule has to save his job…I really don’t know what they can do. Hope Pickett is this year’s Mac Jones to jump right in and start?

This is a slightly silly debate, but it’s more fun than talking about war I guess. If we’re ranking NFL cities, with appeal of the greatness of the franchise factored in via a complex proprietary method, I’d have it:

S: NY, LA, Dallas
A: Miami, Vegas, Denver, San Fran
B: Nola, Seattle, Phoenix, Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh
C: Charlotte, Nashville, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, KC, Philly, Houston, Atlanta
D: Cleveland, Jacksonville, Minneapolis, Baltimore, DC, Indy,
F: Cincy, Buffalo, Detroit
I agree with NY. The city's appeal is the main reason why they're able to attract one or two top 5 draft picks every year.

Build a time machine, go back a year in time and kick themselves in the nuts for even thinking that Sam Darnold would be the franchise saviour.

On a side note, no one really talks about the risk of Watson not actually reaching the level he was at. I personally think he will even if it takes half a season or so to find his form. But, could also see a plausible even if unlikely scenario that he busts.

He''s also gonna be suspended for at least half the season.

Can you imagine now crazy the Rams’ moves would be if they had Brady on their roster. They’d be pulling shenanigans all over the shop

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is urging the NFL to call an audible.

On Wednesday, PETA said in a news release the NFL should change the name of the "horse-collar tackle" penalty which the animal-rights organization said "makes light of using tight harnesses to exploit horses for labor."

Oh do feck off.
Wtf, how does that logic even work. A horse collar tackle is one of the most despised types of fouls in the league … so not sure how naming it as such suddenly makes light of it.
