Liverpool hanging on by the skin of their teeth. Trent is an abysmal defender.

City surprisingly using plenty of switch passes and long balls. Liverpool didn't have a clue how to deal with it.

There's only one United!
Pity they haven't kicked lumps out of each other yet

Jota needs to make that count.

You can get away with giving one or two clear cut chances away in a game against Watford, Burnley etc but when you’re playing the best, you need to adjust your game a bit. City are simply exposing what’s been adamant all season. We’re a very open team defensively.

Mane needs hooking at HT. Doesn’t look interested. Get Diaz on.

He means the pace of the game, every touch, pass, move is practically instantaneous as opposed to our faffing about
We have to think / ponder because we can't deal with congested spaces. That's what separates these teams from the rest. They don't panic like we like when they don't have loads of room. Hence the game flows quicker.

No matter how average Sancho is for us, he would flourish in this City team, IMO. He would easily have 30 goals and assists combined for them.
Not sure. Guardiola want players that are runners and hard working. Something Sancho has failed to show.

City are so dominant, I've never seen us so bad against them. They should be 4-1 up.

No way are we not losing today. Absolutely no chance.

Liverpool need to bring in Diaz if they're to cause any sort of threat. Jota is a decent finisher but not much else, Mane cant stay off the floor and Salah has been shocking for a while now.

City should be comfortably ahead.

Football can be so simple. Pacy wingers and strikers who can break last line. That's what we don't have at Utd. We have no midfielder who has the ability to pick a pass. Just look at these 2 teams, players pushing forward to get numerical advantage, overlapping fb, ball over the top from fb, pressing and numerous chances created. Put football has really gone backward in the last 8-9 years that it isn't funny anymore.

For all the talk about Liverpool being few classes above us, ManCity is same steps above Liverpool. Total domination and how it isn’t 3-4 more goals for ManCity I don’t know.

Football is so easy when you run with and without ball.
The difference is Liverpool have an out. We saw this at Anfield. City dominated the first half as much as today but drew 2-2 in the end. Liverpool's front 3 is one of the best ever brought together and can bail them out when they struggle. Today yet again, 1 chance 1 goal for Liverpool, City need 3 or 4 for the same.

Liverpool playing way too scared, first time passes instead of taking some touches.. nerves getting the better of them.

Tell TAA to just fill sprint backwards without looking each time a ball in behind is made, and maybe bin Jota for Diaz if he continues not to make a simple pass.

Firmino on the bench too.. probably should've started. They need someone to link play.

Sheer class from City. Unplayable. Unlucky to be 2-1. Easily could be 4-1.

Moyes was right, we aspire to play like City.

You must not watch a lot of Liverpool games for a Liverpool fan if you think the other team missing sitter after sitter against you means you aren't going to win.

City will be unplayable if they sign Haaland. This would be a 4-1 already if they had a proper striker.

Fully deserved lead at half time for City. The Liverpool defence making some amount errors, the most i recall for a long time from them. City haven't fully exploited that and that could yet come back to haunt.

It surprises me how so few teams seem able to take advantage of their high line. I mean Villa absolutely smashed them a couple years back by playing balls over the top.

I like Jadon but he isn't better than Sterling. Or Mahrez. Not yet anyway

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
If ever there’s been a 2-1 annihilation this is it. City are just incredible off the ball. The way they sustain attacks, the constant intense running in behind, how they swarm space collectively on turnovers - the idea Ronaldo would get a game for them is just truly one of the most bonkers things I’ve ever heard

On the rare occasions you manage to get in their half they are vulnerable. Liverpool have looked dangerous themselves but City should be out of sight.

This match is the perfect illustration of why Reece James is the superior all around player to TAA. Both are fantastic going forward but only 1 is routinely targeted by the opposition because they’re an extreme liability defensively. He’s basically not even out there on some of these City moves and when he is he gets blown by with ease.

The thing with Jota is that even if he can’t pass, he’ll still get into a position where he gets a goal. Firmino is injured.

Nah. City are not very clinical and you've been a threat here and there. While they are clearly dominating, it's a very open game.

City are so classy on the ball. People go mad when we play Bruno as false 9, pogba in a DM, Fred as DM.

Look at City - I have no idea how they play. At times, Walker is in the box, Silva is a running DM, foden is a CF or winger. All boils down to having a capable manager I guess.

For all the overthinking. I've said all week Pep has been preping City to hit long balls in behind fullbacks like he never did before. It was really noticeable vs Burnley and Atletico and it was all prep for today. He's got his tactics spot on for today win lose or draw. Klopp will respond though and a better Liverpool will come out 2nd half. This is not over.

Brilliant first half performance from city, we’ve been battered. Get Keita on for Henderson and Diaz on please.

If by open you mean our midfield and defence then I agree. Otherwise City have got us in their pockets.

Sancho to City and Grealish to United would have been far better fits. Technical player who likes a lot of movement around him and pass and move tactics vs player who wants to do everything on his own. Not tricky to see which one fits in which team.
