City are so classy on the ball. People go mad when we play Bruno as false 9, pogba in a DM, Fred as DM.

Look at City - I have no idea how they play. At times, Walker is in the box, Silva is a running DM, foden is a CF or winger. All boils down to having a capable manager I guess.
A capable manager and players who listen to instructions and buy into the system 100%.

Not many teams have a Bernardo Silva or a KDB to be able to play balls through with such precision
But most of the balls played forward have been straight long balls, any player can do that, it's not like KDB has been running the show, it's just been simple balls over the top and all of a sudden Liverpool are facing their own goal!

TAA has been a liability defensively,

The funny thing about this is that we’ll play the exact same way at Wembley next week. Managers are so stubborn.

This match is the perfect illustration of why Reece James is the superior all around player to TAA. Both are fantastic going forward but only 1 is routinely targeted by the opposition because they’re an extreme liability defensively. He’s basically not even out there on some of these City moves and when he is he gets blown by with ease.
TAA is a lot better offensively than James though, the latter's overperformance this season aside. And TAA doesn't regularly play with three CBs to help him defensively.

James benefits from a back 3.

The difference is Liverpool have an out. We saw this at Anfield. City dominated the first half as much as today but drew 2-2 in the end. Liverpool's front 3 is one of the best ever brought together and can bail them out when they struggle. Today yet again, 1 chance 1 goal for Liverpool, City need 3 or 4 for the same.
Guardiola is quick learner. I can’t see how Liverpool can adapt to your game. You just need to keep it up with passing through lines and you will score couple more. Trents position is shocking and puts whole back four under pressure. Liverpool can play like that against many sides but with your players in 6 gear mode Liverpool are going to be punished.

Liverpool’s high line makes them constantly vulnerable to quality balls into the channels. Their excellent pressing usually mitigates this, but City have:
  • Defenders who can work it out from the back
  • Midfielders who can receive the ball under pressure and distribute it with unerring accuracy
  • Forwards who can cause havoc in the final third
With the best players/coach/lawyers that money can buy, it really is hard to see what stops City while Pep is around.

You played like this, defensively, against us in the final too. We just couldn't finish our dinner. Missed some unbelievable sitters.

Alright let me ask you a question, how do you think TAA would do for you instead of James, with that back 3 to help him?

It could work though, I think you guys today is more down to not being at the races than your poor tactics. Pep has got his spot on but you are still in the game and can't possibly be as bad as 1st half. Similar to the Anfield game so far only we've got ahead instead of falling behind. You guys were much better 2nd half that time and I think will be again today.

Jota needs to make that count.

You can get away with giving one or two clear cut chances away in a game against Watford, Burnley etc but when you’re playing the best, you need to adjust your game a bit. City are simply exposing what’s been adamant all season. We’re a very open team defensively.

Mane needs hooking at HT. Doesn’t look interested. Get Diaz on.
I actually forgot Mane was playing. Hasn't really had any moments at all this half

As much as I don't like City, they're playing football the right way. I could see allegiances changing over to them generationally.
Nah, majority support who their parents support. City fans existed pre money.

Sad thing is if things stay the same for another ten years our success will seem so far gone people will refer to it like remember when United were actually good.

The fall from grace has been increble.

It's not as easy as that though. Bernardo's been the one playing most of those balls in behind, and look at where he's picking up the ball. It's right in the pocket in between the CBs - for anyone else that's a dangerous place to get the ball against Liverpool. Because he's so press resistant, they Liverpool don't bother to press him there and he's got the time to pick them apart there

Liverpool look nervous, wouldn’t be surprised to see more of the same.

No mention at all during half-time of that foul on Mané that denied Foden a goal?
