He needs to stop talking, he might actually be toast. I really don't think Ten Hag is going to like all of this PR nonsense he has been doing.

Maybe if he showed that hard work and professionalism on the pitch he wouldn't have to have his PR team come out every 5 minutes with the same BS excuses. It really is getting boring now.

Clarity on his role? How about, you will play football as long as you perform. If you don't you will be on the bench or sold. What sort of clarity does he need?
Think its clear enough to be fair to him. Be will know Ten Hag wants to operate a particular system and will need a bit of time to know if thats suited to him or if he needs to move on for a winger that is.

He's not even trying anymore with that second tweet. "Sources close to Rashford say he's continuing to train hard and professionally"?

Spare me the PR nonsense Marcus, how about you transfer over that supposed hard work and professionalism onto the pitch instead of looking disinterested every-time you come on.

Sounds like that leak the other month that went in to detail about 14 players leaving due to how shit things are behind the scenes and then the last line was "the squad also think Jesse Lingard should play more"...

Guy is leaking to the media on a daily basis. Hope he pays his PR team well, guys are working overtime. Embarrassing at this point.

Talk is on the pitch, where he is a disgrace.

Needs to be shipped out. He has down tools and one of the more obvious examples in the squad.

If I was Ten Hag I wouldn't trust him at all.

I can understand that he may be upset about his reduced role, which is more than deserving with his continuous awful performances. But be honest once and request a transfer. But no, he probably has a loyalty bonus. So instead he just put his pr team to say this and that. Disgrace.

O wonder how his pr team will operate if he moved on to a team like barca for example.
Would they fall for it aswell?

Thanks for training hard and professionally Marcus. We are eternally grateful. Means a lot.

Banana peel of a player. When he is on the pitch for real he looks like he wants to be anywhere but there. So if the manager doesn't strike his fancy he won't put in a shift? Or what?

Ten Hag would be wise to jettison him as soon as possible if he doesn't want his work sabotaged because Rashy woke up one day and decided he doesn't feel like playing.

Yeah its clear as daylight.

The sooner Jesse fecks off this summer the better, and honestly his mate PRashford can join him too. The sooner we're done with these chancers the sooner we can actually start a proper rebuild and a bonafide culture reset.

Watching Leeds vs Palace.
Dan James looks 10 times the player our Rashy is.
That’s how far he’s fallen.

To be fair, every time Ralf has spoken about Rashford, he's said that he is training well but is struggling for confidence in game.

I agree with most of the posts, he should be turfed, pr shit started again days after ETH announcement, Ralf is not thick though he knows, however given our lack of attacking options we might have to endure it a bit longer if we cannot get enough forwards in, what is really disappointing is, him, Lingard and Pogba were all academy players and they are the worst culprits in all this, they all think they are just celebrities, not footballers, SAF would have destroyed them.

Can no-one here read between the lines and actually see what Rashford has done with his latest PR briefing?

He has jumped in at the first opportunity to well and truly throw Ralf Rangnick under the bus, knowing that Erik ten Hag will be taking over next season.

Have a look at what his PR team have spun, and read what he is actually saying...

“Marcus Rashford will seek greater clarity on his role at MUFC when Erik ten Hag takes over”
Ralf has messed me about and played me out of position, Ralf knows that my favoured position is on the left, yet he plays me on the right and up front as well. Ralf is to blame for my form. Who does Ralf think he is to even bench me as well, does he not know who I am?

“Sources say he is now looking forward to embarking on a new chapter with Ten Hag”
Do you fans not understand that Ralf is responsible for making me brief to the press that I was considering my future? Ralf left me with no choice, I mean who does he think he is to bench me? Anyway I’m going to let you fans in on a little secret: I’m putting to bed that talk of me considering my future because guess what? Ralf won’t be the manager next season, and Ten Hag will show the world that Ralf was wrong to play me out of position and even bench me. I am Marcus Rashford and that alone is enough for Ten Hag to play me week in week out in my favourite position on the left.

“Marcus Rashford accepts he is not an integral part of Rangnick’s plans”
Yeah that’s right Ralf, bench me all you want now because I’ve seen you off, Ten Hag will be in the hot seat next season and not you. I can’t wait for the world to see how wrong you were to underestimate who I am. You forget that manager’s come and go, but I am Marcus Rashford and I am bigger than this club. You should be honoured to be in my presence.

“Sources close to Rashford say he is continuing to train hard and professionally”
I want to set the record straight once and for all. I have seen it be said from you fans that I have downed tools and I am not trying because Ralf has messed me about and played me out of position and even benched me. I want to categorically say that I have never once said that it was Ralf that made me down tools; but now that I know Ralf won’t be the manager next season, I can honestly say that it was in actual fact Ralf that made me down tools when he picked Jadon to play on the left instead of me, when he chose Anthony instead of me, when he played me up front instead of asking me where I wanted to play, and last but not least, when Ralf wouldn’t even look at me when I was sat on the bench.

There you have it, that’s what Rashford was really saying.

You can’t swing your dick so publicly when your stats this season are that poor, and your standing within football in terms of quality isn’t that great.

Imagine going up to Ferguson in the 90s with that, he‘d laugh and tell you to feck off.

Hopefully Rangnick has marked his card and ten Hag is not smoke screened when he comes in. You show, or you go.

He's lost the explosive pace he had a couple of years ago and isn't getting it back. He's still fairly quick but not quick enough to make up for the other deficiencies in his game. I'll be amazed if Ten Hag can find a use for him.

I’m convinced he’s the primary leaker.

I still laugh at the “sources say he’s been asking Ronaldo what his muscle mass was at his age” style of tweets, all while giving 3/10 performances every week

Pace is the least of his problems. Having a brain is the big one it seems

Problem with these quotes is the situation is being made out like it was just a matter of favour and he was done dirty. He was originally a part of Rangnick's plans but his play forced Ralf to change course. The 4222 that failed moved everyone else out of their natural positions to make Ronaldo and Rashford the focal points. His touches in that game were absolutely diabolical and he made it clear early on he couldn't link up or do anything that didn't ask him to run goalwards. Maybe GifLord has some footage of his touches in Ralf's first game . We saw layoffs and one touch passes into no man's land.

ETH doesn't use poachers and limited attackers either so I don't know what miracle he's expecting without first becoming good at those areas. It's not a matter of simply being picked. If you don't have the tools the same movie will repeat itself under ETH. Ralf worked with Sancho and defined his role, this is why he turned his United career around. He tried the same with Rashford but he's still passing into defenders' legs. He needs to tear the foundations and start afresh as a footballer to change who he is. Long shot this deep into a career.

This was in jan. Even assuming he's put in 100% and gave everything he's got he's still shite and should be sold asap. On the other hand if he hasn't then he has effectively downtool'ed and should be sold.

I don't know how anyone can tolerate him prancing about ?

In the interests of fairness, this is exactly what we want to hear/see from the younger players, we want them to be asking Ronaldo questions and learning from what he does and has done.

Now, whether it's true or not is a completely different matter.

And this here is the issue.

He's not exactly showering himself in credibility when his performances have been woeful, and his work rate on the pitch is non-existent. A genuinely driven young player that's been dropped from the side would be expected to knuckle down and double their work rate on the pitch to force their way back into the side, and what's Rashford's response? Leaked tweets about him 'considering his future' and 'bemused at being dropped'. And that's another thing, funny how these leaks are about Rashford "working hard at training", "TRIPLE training sessions" and this muscle mass nonsense. It's almost like his PR team are working overtime to convince us its not his fault he's been dropped.

The things he should be asking Ronaldo are more football related, not diet and muscle mass. There is not correct amount of muscle for a footballer and diet is somewhat personal. The reason Ronaldo is as good as he is relates to his insatiable appetite to be the best. To train harder, longer and with more focus than his peers. To put all the other crap to the side and focus on his football. The best footballer is not the one who has the best diet and physique, its the one who continues to improve and learn.

Rashford is the complete opposite of Ronaldo. If Ronaldo was in an underperforming team when he was younger he would have just worked even harder to stand out and drag the team forwards. He wouldn't have been putting out a load of crap on social media about it. He would have done his talking on the pitch.

This seems to be a somewhat modern thing where people have somehow come to believe that what you say is more important than what you do. As long as you are saying the right thing you can largely do what you want and people will fawn over you. Seems to be working pretty well for Rashford to be fair. I reckon most people outside the United die hards still think hes the mutts nuts.

If he's asking him about detailed things such as diet, muscle mass, then it would be astonishing to believe he hadn't also been asking him about football related issues in fairness. You' imagine as a footballer you'd ask about football experiences before delving into other details. As I said, whether or not that story is true or not is anyone's guess.

In terms of being in an underperforming team, Ronaldo was part of an underwhelming era at United the first time around. He went through the inconsistencies and frustrations that a lot of players go through. He was incredibly exciting at times of course, but he was also incredibly frustrating. Social media wasn't a thing so we can't say what he would, or would not, have been doing and it is unfair to speculate. He did mature early and rid his game of those inconsistencies younger than 99% of other players though which as you say is probably borne out of that work ethic and self-belief.
