This thread is confusing.

Why is it good news?

It was pretty clear from the reported terms of his consultancy that he'd be able to hold a duel role so no issue.

I wonder if today was his last game?

Bring in McClaren to start the early rebuild and ditch the useless old guys and play some youth.

We need him upstairs as much as we need ETH as our main coach and if he leaves, I will be very worried for the next season.

Surprised at those saying this is good news, surely the whole narrative has been we need more football people involved in the club at a senior level.

Personally hope he stays with us

Agreed. He's a mediocre coach at best but clearly sharp as a tack and an expert at rebuilding structure.

I've loved his attitude this year and feel with this squad there's not a Manager out there who could have done much better.

They require pandering to or the toys come out of the pram. Well feck them all, not Ralph's fault for me.

Some people are a bit.. special, aren't they? They want Rangnick out of a future role due to his performance in an unrelated role.

I want him out of the dugout so we can start rebuild now.

Have no issues with him going up stairs... its clearly where his strengths are.

You do realise ETH already has a contracted start date, and RR leaving would harm our rebuild, rather than progress it, yes?

If McClaren is coming in as well, makes sense he comes in now and starts working instead of waiting another 2 months etc.

Why would it harm our rebuild?

Some of you sound like he's the only man in the world who can save us.

People can’t seem to get it into their heads that Rangnick was brought in to assess the squad, handover to a new manager and then move upstairs. Exactly what he is doing.

In the post match interview, he’s confirmed that there’s now an agreement and a contract in place for his consultancy role.
That allows him to go to another job, but still work for p/t Utd.

Harm it?

Ralf is only a consultant, these grandiose plans only exist in Rangnick's head. He is only a small part of it, evidenced by him only working 6 days a month.

Murtough and Arnold will be the ones responsible for any rebuild along with ETH.

Actually, on reflection, you're right, what can he possibly bring to the table that no-one else can.

Except maybe intimate knowledge of the squad built up over the last six months?

A-few keyboards will be smashed with rage on here tonight.
It's confusing, really. For once, the club is following through with a sensible plan, one that was put in place months ago. You'd think this is a good thing.

Are you referring to the dossier? I wonder what kind of juicy intimate details are in that thing that other coaches who work with the players day to day couldn't see.
