Djed Spence on loan at Forest from Middlesbrough. Apparently available for 14m. 21 years of age he's had an excellent season but it makes to much sense.

Spence and Garner are playing tonight at Bournemouth, a good opportunity to asses them.

Thankfully the wife's away, she'd go apeshit if I'm watching Championship as well as Premier League and Champions League:D

Is this mazraoui fella as good as he's made to be or just a another overhyped prospect?

If there is any possible way to snatch Mazraoui we should be all over it.

Overhyped I think. We got Dest a couple of years ago who was supposed to be better but so far has been kind of disappointing.

Dumfries can be picked up from inter for 35 million euro. Bayern is interested says Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy.

I think it has more to do with there being a lack of proven right-backs currrently, and being able to sign him on a free.

I disagree we can't get this wrong anymore, if he's not good enough for the best teams, we must stay away.

You asked whether he was overhyped. I responded accordingly. I didn't make a comment about whether we should sign him.

Mazraoui hasn’t signed with Bayern yet or agreed the contract yet based on reports so ETH having worked with him and currently working with him could promise him the first choice right back position and sell him on the planner project ETH has in place for United next season.

Going with Mazraoui and Laird next season with Williams covering both right back and left back spots is a much better option than AWB and Dalot as we currently have, having two attacking full backs but a pure out and out defensive midfielder who’s job is to shield the defence and slot in as a pseudo third centre back when the full backs bomb on is a must for next season.

Good enough for bayern?
The people who are "making him to be" good enough for Bayern are primarily Bayern's scouting department, manager, and DoF. It's not like the signing is driven and performed by fans, and I wouldn't say Mazraoui is an individual surrounded by some sort of particularly massive public hype, as far as footballers go.

Fair enough, but the bayern links go a long way to establish him as worthwhile footballer , I'll imagine the hype will grow in the coming months.

I think it's that he's cheap (and they don't seem to be excited to spend money at the moment) and they have options (3-5-2 with the wingers Nagelsmann likes, and they have Pavard) so they really just need someone versatile who can attack and not be outright bad defensively.

Have literally never seen this guy play football before but a friend of mine was saying he's pretty good. Anyone rate him?

No, he never was. He was the backup RB and only started 'cause Mazraoui was injured. You must've bought into the Dest hype.
It's quite bizarre Barca signed Ajax's backup RB for 20(?) million, but you were broke and Koeman has a habit of bringing in shite Dutch players wherever he goes.

If any one of their players has a chance to make it at a top club, it's Mazraoui. On a free it's a no brainer. Ajax's best player.

Lamptey, Aarons, Baku, Spence, Dumfries, Livramento would all be upgrades on our current lot.

Spence and Aarons will end up at a Leicester type and absolutely smash it and then we'll sign them for 60-80m in a couple of years.

We should go for Dumfries. That guy can run for days. We won't even need a winger anymore, he'll cover the entire right side.

Dumfries is more of a wingback, no? He's good in the final third, but (and this is obviously just a guess) I imagine Ten Hag will want someone at RB who contributes a little bit more in the build-up phase.

depends on how he's gonna be used. Can't really defend, but is quick enough to repair mistakes, but really good on the ball. So he'll work for clubs like Bayern and Barca, but won't really work for teams that require actual defending skills for their fullbacks.

I say let’s go for Sergiño Dest. He’s played and performed well under ETH in Ajax and is familiar with his system.
Hasn’t really hit it off yet at Barca and as they’re in financial difficulties a reasonably low fee should be possible. £15-20mill should do it.

Perhaps not the best defensively but quick, good on the ball and contributes in the attacking play with crosses as well as 1v1s.

Would be an upgrade.
Only 21yo so if it doesn’t work out should still have plenty of resell-value.

What about Max Aarons?

I remember us being linked a season ago. Now that Norwhich are relegated we should be able to get him for under 20 million pounds. Has he been decent this season?
