Central with Ronaldo & Sancho either side of him. He’s pretty much perfect for the role and his link play with both would be outstanding.
That could… kind of work. But we’d need really marauding wingbacks to make up for the fact that neither Ronaldo nor Sancho would stay wide or be a threat in isolations against fullback. Also the conundrum that Fernandes holds no real space in that sort of set-up. And we’ve made him our main man by giving him the new contract

When are we going to learn with the premier league - Maguire, AWB, Schneiderlin, Phil Jones, Sanchez, Lukaku, Matic, Mata, Shaw(ish), Fellaini

When are we going to learn with Portugal - Telles, Dalot, Lindelof

When are we going to learn with the Eredivisie - Van De Beek, Depay, Blind

When are we going to learn with Serie A - Pogba, Darmian

I could go on. It’s not the leagues that have burnt us, it’s the recruitment in general.
Bundesliga attackers have failed all over in recent years. Jovic, Haller, Werner, Harvetz and a question mark on Sancho. None of them are yet to do the numbers they did in the Bundesliga. Haller had to move to the Eredivise to enjoy the success he had in Germany.

It would need a lot more from the full backs than we currently get, absolutely.

My thought process is that we’ve seen Ten Hag’s attacking teams utilise a lot of short triangular passes into the penalty area from wide areas; Nkunku & Sancho are perfect for that type of football and we know Luke Shaw can be as well, albeit we haven’t seen it anywhere near consistently enough from Shaw. We badly need a right back and I’d be shocked if we aren’t targeting one. It also gets Ronaldo away from the centre where he can find space & where we see the best of him. It’s all hypothetical at this point but if he was available I think he’d be a perfect player for us in that false 9 type of role.

Spot on, Liverpool by comparison:

Bundesliga: Thiago, Firmino, Konaté, Matip and Keïta
Premier League: Robertson, Van Dijk, Henderson, Milner, Jota and Mané
Serie A: Alisson and Salah
Ligue 1: Fabinho and Origi

Sancho and Nkunku on the flanks, both can work well wide or cut in or switch sides. Ronaldo in the middle with Bruno in behind.

Would be super.
Is Nkuku as comfortable on the right as he is on the left/in the middle?

Yes.

According to whoscored, his stats this season on different positions:

FW - 17 games 9 goals 7 assists (avg rating 7.73)
AM - 13 games 12 goals 4 assists (7.87)
RW - 6 games 4 goals (7.31)
LW - 4 games 1 goals (7.1)

I haven't watch him play, but he looks quite versatile to me, at least he doesn't just stick to one position, at the very least he could play as CF or AM equally well, and does his jobs on both flanks too.

Maybe we could even play Bruno on the flank sometimes, and let him take over the AM role.

I really don't know how we're going to bring him in if we take in consideration that we want Nunez, potentially Tchouameni, a CB and 2 fullbacks.

We can sell some players to raise some funds.
Even with all of that its a lot of money especially when we don't have players who are assets that we can sell in large amount of money.

On one hand I think he's a system player, on the other hand I think we could do with system players.

Exactly this.

We could use the same leagues to show just as many, if not more, successful ones.

This, i so hope we sign them two. The DM and CM though, I have no idea who the club would go for and in truth there don't seem to be many good fits about.
Given we also need a CB, LB, RB, and a striker/RW, I see us signing a DM and making due with Fred, Donny, and Scott for next season. I think Fred could be a different player for us with proper coaching. Donny has to be coming back with ETH coming in. Whether he'll get a lot of playing time remains to be seen but he should at least be a usable squad player for us. Everything is just speculation by the media at this point. Once ETH is done with Ajax, we'll hear/see more movement on players.

These are all just links. For all we know we'll end up with a cheaper striker and Nkuku to bolster the attack instead of Nunez.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan
He's been a little quite tonight but two pieces of magic and he's involved again. A nice bit of hold up play to slip a player in who should have scored the 1v1 then a nice finish to get RB back level in the tie.

No doubt he is an excellent player, but he really isnt a striker for me, even in terms of modern game and false number 9s. With us having Fernandes and Sancho who regardless of form and settling in etc do have quality....For those reasons, if I was spending £50/60m on a Leipzig player, hands down it isnt Nkunku, its Gvardiol. Nkunku improves us, different player but its like people saying Grealish wouldnt.

But its one of the stronger parts of our squad, the difference Gvardiol brings to our defence is huge in comparison in my opinion

No way he's worth 60m, anything over 30m initially would be stupid and not worth it.

He's a good player but really not what we need. More of a finisher than an actual technical dribbler, we need players like Mane, Salah, Diaz..

In fact I don't think Rashford pre injury is too different to what Nkunku would give. £60m would be better spent on other players.

From watching the 2 games against Rangers I don’t think he’s what we need. He’s obviously good player, but we really lack someone with explosive pace who’s direct.

Ronaldo & Sancho you’d assume will be 2 of the front 3. Whilst I wouldn’t say either are slow, I wouldn’t say either are particularly fast. We could do with someone explosive who can beat a man.

Not good enough to pay anything near 60m for him, he doesn't solve any immediate problems for this United team either.
Anthony is a similar price (reportedly). I dont know who is better but would lean toward Nkunku

I don't particularly like either to be honest, especially at that price. Scouts need to earn their wage and find someone more suited to us.

We need someone to come in and slot right away on the right-wing and yes Antony for 60m is also too much.

That's Rashford, if we manage to get him back to what he was in 2020 before the injury ravaged 2021 season. He has insane speed to offer if he manages to find that again.

It’s really hard to tell at this point. Antony is a genuine Joga Bonito type of baller who is exciting to watch, but he seems lacking abit of end products, but he is also still very young. Nkunku has great stats and can play across many attacking position, and seems nice fit for us, But you simply can’t take his stats in BL for granted - Sancho has similar impressive stats but almost nothing here, or Timo Werner too.
