Unlike the Champions league final it will be hard to pick a winner of the Europa league final. Rangers look mad keen to win it and Eintracht Frankfurt are another example of a team reaching the final off the back of a poor domestic league campaign.

Leicester and Brendan Rodgers miserable season over at the hands of Jose Mourinho who should add another new trophy to his CV. Knowing Jose he'll likely celebrate that success like he's won another champions league!

In some ways, the Europa League is better than the Champion's League. It is far less predictable. At the start of the season, I don't think many would say the final would be Rangers and Frankfurt. Even the semi-finalists likely wouldn't have been those four.

Don't know why anyone wouldn't want Manchester United to be in it.
The knockouts of both Europa and Conference have been great to watch.

You just know he'll be mentioning that every five seconds to journalists

Nice for Roma fans though and yet another final for him. It is a downward trajectory and the goalposts have changed from 'he wins the league with every club' to "he wins trophies with every club ' to 'he's gotten to a final with every club he's been to'. Still impressive though.

Bassey is a left footed Rudiger. Amazing in lcb position in a back 3, good at the back and going forward. 22 years old - what a monster.

Really like both finals. 4 Clubs you rarely ever see in European Finals (anymore)

He would be the first manager to win this competition and therefore go down in history. That's actually not bad.

Rangers at Ibrox in a European night are very difficult to beat. The atmosphere is overwhelming!

Or hold 3 fingers up to a hushed packed press room, and says

“you know what this is??
I win the three Euro trophies, no one win all three like me, some reespect guys, reespect” while getting up and walking out

Epic performance from Rangers against a good Leipzig team. The passion and intensity was outstanding, they’d smash our bunch of lazy cnuts.

I’ve loved watching rangers in Europa this season.

the atmosphere they generate at Ibrox is something special, the team shows that too by showing so much passion and commitment for the club. Hopefully they go all the way and win it.

I know this is a United forum, but we really cannot complain about the 6 finalists‘ footballing heritage. Proper clubs all of them

Brilliant stuff. Leipzig are a really good team on paper with some very talented individuals. Even though they're not having the best domestic season you would still be wary of the players they have, so it's a brilliant result for a low budget team like Rangers.

Pretty much this. The big money projects lost at least in the semis.

Couple of things reviewing Rangers getting to the final.

1st) If I were a Celtic fan, I would be embarrassed. They're approach to Europe for the past 4-5 years has been shocking, especially for a club with their resources. Additionally, their CL place is only coming because of Rangers performances.

I don't have an axe to grind with Celtic per se, and I primarily blame their board as they act so provincial in focusing on domestic football so much, when financially they should be able to put up a fight in Europe.

2) If Rangers win it, it'll be interesting to see what they do with the money. This run has netted them about about £13m in prize money and if they win it that will get to £19m minimum as they get Super Cup money. That is before you get to the TV/gate money, which is probably £10-£12m more and then the CL money (£15m'ish.)

Be interesting to see if they invest or pay down their debt.

Yeah. I dont know how much Frankfurt have spent but Rangers have spent a modest £40-50m on their entire squad, most of the plastic teams spend that one one or two playerz.

Getting to the group stages give Scottish teams around £40m, putting that into context, SPL rights give around £3-5m per season. Rangers I think have made around £22m from European football this season (the Rangers fans on this forum would be able to correct me if im wrong) just shows that it doesnt take 100s of millions to build a decent team.

Celtic have been really poor in the last decade, only reached the group stage of the CL once in those years, have amassed £80-100m in that time and still been out done by a Rangers team in Europe.

Frankfurt and Rangers have a good amount of horrible fans as well. Poor Sevilla will be trashed by those idiots. Still, it is 6 clubs with great traditions. I am happy City, PSG, Leipzig et al are out.

Yeah, there are horrible fans and then there are the Dippers' who elevate themselves above the rest. I mean, let's be serious, no other club in Europe has caused a Heysel and still have themselves up there in terms of acting scummy constantly.

Wouldn't be a Rangers fan at all but amazing how they've managed that when you have people saying the Old Firm teams wouldn't stay up in the all-conquering PL or you hear people say their players are mid-table Championship players. Well they've just beaten Dortmund and Leipzig and achieved something West Ham and Leicester couldn't do.

I think that is dependent on wins/draws and TV pool rights. I am not sure, but I think qualification to the group stage is approximately £15m'ish.

Scotland I also imagine has a much lower TV pool pot than most of the bigger leagues. Additionally, for Rangers, if they qualify, they would probably be more hoping for 2nd/3rd than topping their group (obviously depends on teams they get) so they couldn't expect as many wins (worth £2m a pop) as more established teams.

That said, gate money and merch would probably increase but that is hard to calculate.

As for Celtic, I just find it a bit surprising with they way their board went about things when Rangers got relegated. Revenues wise, if they qualified for the CL consistently and did just ok in the group stages would have them in the Benfica/Ajax category of revenue. They really have no excuse for their woeful form.

I have said it before but it's clear that Roma are going in the right direction under Mourinho. With good summer market they should be able to compete for top 4 next season than this one. Regardless of what happens in the final, it was a season with a lot of benefits for them.

Mourinho might not be the 2010 Mourinho but he's still a decent manager.

I agree but equally, Serie A is the best league for him as it plays to his strengths.

Personally, I was amazed after he left Utd he didn't go back then.

Probably didn't have offers from there. Managing Tottenham will probably end up being the black dot on his career. Yes he didn't have a marvelous success with United but he still won 2 trophies out of 3 finals and finished 2nd in one season. It wasn't a fully bad period. Tottenham period though, apart from the first few months in his 2nd season, was an absolute disaster from start to finish.

The final will be a nightmare for people commenting the game: Kamada and Lindström (Frankfurt) vs Kamara and Lundstram (Rangers) will lead to confusion for sure.

After watching West Ham earlier, I felt their biggest problem is the type of looping passes they seem to love sending. They’re almost impossible to control under pressure and often lead to players either getting injured, fouling their opponents or the ball going out of play in a desperate attempt to keep possession.
Also worth a mention was the standard BT commentary this evening, it was absolutely atrocious.

Does the winner of the Conference league get to play CL or Europa?
