Brighton & Hove Albion (nicknamed The Seagulls and Albion) are a professional football club based in Brighton & Hove. The club was first formed as Brighton & Hove United on 24 June 1901, and the name was quickly changed to Brighton & Hove Albion. The club took the place of a defunct club, Brighton & Hove Rover, in the Southern League In the Southern League they won their only national honour to date, the FA Charity Shield, by defeating Football League Champions Aston Villa in 1910. There had previously been Old Brightonians, representing the area in the FA Cup in the 19th Century. The club initially played at the Hove County Ground, with a few games were also at Goldstone Ground that was used by Hove F.C. From 1902 onwards, Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. and Hove F.C. shared the Gladstone Ground. In 1920, 19 years after the club was formed, they were elected to the Football League's new Third Division.

Mismanagement brought Brighton close to relegation from the Football League to the Conference which they narrowly avoided in 1997 and 1998. A boardroom takeover saved Brighton from liquidation, and following successive promotions they returned to the second tier of English football in 2002, from then on playing in the second and third tiers of English football until the conclusion of the 2016-17 season, where the club earned promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history, marking the end of a 34-year absence from the top flight. Bighton's fans consider Crystal Palace to be their biggest rival with matches between them termed the M23 derby, and they play their home games at Falmer Stadium.

This should be another one for our senior players. Hopefully we can get the win, or even a point, that we will know by the final day will have been enough to surely secure Europa League football for next season.

Let the kids focus on the FA Youth Cup in the meantime. We then have a lot of time off before the final game of the season and we can embed some youth players into the team, alongside the players who will be there next season

I’m not going to humour the chance of 4th being on on the final day.

FA Youth Cup Final is 4 days after this so I don’t think we’ll see the youth start this one.

    De Gea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Varane - Telles
    McTominay - Fred
    Bruno
    Elanga - Cavani - Ronaldo

Yes, bad and all as it sounds, we really need to make sure of 6th so as to avoid the conference. The Europa next season may take some of the pressure off ETH and allow him to use those games to get the system right...... trying to look on bright side here.

We will do well to get a result in this one. Fortunately 6th is looking likely anyway thanks to tonight's win.

Need a point to get Europa League, that's it. Our competition ain't getting points from City.

Same lineup. Maybe Fred for Scotty.

    Shaw still out?

Sancho is out. Might make it back for the last game, but probably out for the season.

Fancy us to get at least a point. We seem to play better last few games with pressure of top 4 finally gone.

Same team as last night except possibly give Fred a game.

I just hope beyond hope, that a few of the youngsters can get a few meaningful minutes, rather than being brought on merely as a token gesture in injury time.

All of the OAPs and has beens need to get a final run out, so they're gonna get prioritised. X player is gonna come on for his final appearance, and then next game for his other final appearance, but it's only gonna be his final appearance before he signs a new contract.

I’m sure we need more than a point to qualify for the Europa League especially if West Ham win all their games]

We'd need Arsenal and Spurs to lose their remaining matches and draw against each other while we win our remaining two. That draws us level on 64 pts with Arsenal who would most likely remain 4th unless we managed to flip the GD in our favor.
CL is not in our sites for next season.

    “Are we nearly there yet?”

Finding it very hard to get enthused by this game! Will be the same old players that have disappointed all season!

I guess the Conference League is still a mathematical possibility, so wouldn't mind a result here.

not even sure which United will turn up (if any), so can't even begin to predict the score. We could win 2-0 or lose 3-0. P.S. I rather like the early evening Saturday game

Please just secure a future without Conference League football and get a result here. Same team as last week but McTominay out for Fred.

I really liked how RR set the record straight with Lingard and his PR team.
