In my unqualified opinion, I reckon Milan, Inter, Bayern (if they lose Lewa), Atleti, Chelsea and PSG would love to have Ronaldo.

Assuming that he'd drop some of his wage demands too, because he's 37 and desperate to play in the CL (I'm guessing)
And he’d only choose about 2 of those clubs you’ve listed. For the rest of the names there, he’d be better off just staying here.

ETH is likely saying that is he?
Will Ten Hag even give Ronaldo what he wants when it comes to his role on the pitch?

Rangnick made it clear that Ronaldo doesn't want to play lone striker anymore next season.

So it's either giving Ronaldo the 4-4-2 formation (Which Ten Hag doesn't use) or letting him take the left in a 4-3-3 (4-2-3-1) behind a striker, Which will push Sancho out of his favorite position.

I don't think the all thing is going to work out.

I reckon of that list only Bayern would be worth moving for from Ronaldos perspective.

He’s done Italy, Spain and England (can’t see him at Chelsea) and I can’t imagine he’d entertain the idea of teaming up with Messi.

I genuinely think Ronaldo is out of options himself.

If he goes, we need a replacement. At the moment I don't see one out there who we are likely to sign, so for me he has to stay.

Everyone is talking about things from Ronaldos perspective like he's a mercenary whobwould jump ship at a moments notice.

This is Man Utd, the club that gave him his break which he has huge affection for. If he can be a part of the rebuild, helping it get back up to the top table and challenging for silverware again, don't you think that would be important to him? What an amazing legacy that would be.

23 goals this season in a team this dysfunctional. Imagine what he could do in a team with functioning wingers, full backs and attacking midfielders.

If he wins something then sure. But in 50 years time, history won’t remember it if he didn’t win anything in his last couple of years even if he helps us get back to where we should be. The numbers are important to him so he’ll want to go somewhere he’s guaranteed silverware in his last couple of seasons.

The guy might still be the best striker in the league if he only plays once a week. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he gets on next year, think he's going to have a good season.

Definitely stay.
I don't really understand what the issue is with him staying another year. He's our top scorer in a season when he's been surrounded by mediocrity and also one of only 2 players to regularly put in a performance. Since when has a 20 plus goals a year striker been a problem?
If anything, I think Ronaldo takes a bit of the pressure off EtH in terms of recruitment up front, although I'm sure there will be signings. I think players like Maguire and Rashford are bigger problems, not to mention our non-existent midfield. Ronaldo staying might mean we don't need to splurge as much in this area of the squad this season, allowing EtH to focus more on others.
And if it really doesn't work out between them? Well he's only here for one more season.

Yes, we'd be having half the points without him.
Yeah, spot on. It would be even worse without De Gea though. Imagine playing with only ten outfield players and no goalie. We'd lose every game and wouldn't even have a single point. Thank the heavens we didn't go for that one.

Ronaldo left Juventus because newly appointed Allegri told him he'd have to compete for a spot in the starting 11. If ETH says the same thing to him he'd leave
Compete with who though? I think he'll fancy his chances competing with Rashford and Martial!

Looking at it from ETH's view, he is coming to a club that is in a 'mess' the only thing he has going for him when he steps over the threshold at OT, he has one of the world's best strikers (still) in his stable.

I think he will try to hold on to CR for at least another season... but I do agree their working relationship will be crucial if CR does stop!

I put no but want him to stay.

Use him sparingly and give him a mentorship role to the younger players, on getting the professional mentality he has and the lifestyle he leads

He's one of the last I'd bin, where would we be without him this season

Why is this even a discussion?

Letting Ronaldo go just doesn't make any sense; We are already short upfront, and after the season we had, letting him go, can have additional devastating marketing implications for the club. I don't see that happening.

The only slim chance of him leaving, would be if Ronaldo's will push for it. I don't see any evidence as of now, of him doing that.

Ironically, ETH played 442 diamond in his last match vs PEC Zwolle. Ajax fans on YouTube were shocked with the changes since that's not Ajax's typical formation apparently but they understood changes needed due to some injuries and Ajax need to find a way to get 3 points for the league title. But I highly doubt Ronaldo even cares about 433 formation, he was linked with City and he clearly didn't have a problem to join City playing in 433 formation. The Ronaldo's issue was never about Ronaldo playing in lone striker IMO, it was about the lack of creativity or quality in creative area to allow Ronaldo to score more goals.

I am not even sure about the idea of some striker sharing the role with him. Who would do that though? Unless we sign some no-name who you would expect to be good within a couple of seasons?

We should go for a well-established striker, or not be worried about what Ronaldo will do. But who will that be? I have no idea. Saying we need two strikers is all good, but it won't happen next season for obvious reasons.
I think Ronaldo can still play as WF. That’s his role in Portugal from starting line up, and that’s also his preferred role through this career.

Or we can go for Nkunku instead, who can play across front 3 and AM equally well.

Maybe he did think he could play a lone striker at the start of the season. Maybe he changed his mind since. Cutting inside and making runs from the flanks to the box is his bread and butter. Maybe he realized it's missing in his game

No he talked about leaving for Madrid ever since the winking incident. If he can get step up he'll take it, but there might not be anyone willing and able to afford his wages who can fit him in.

He’s been great in a handful of games, good in a load, and shit like the rest of the team in plenty. Imagine what he could do in a decent team.

Strong stay for me, especially considering we have so many areas to sort. We don’t need world class striker on top of that.

Never once believed that the club would force him out. If he's not at OT next season it's because he'd have wanted to move on and I wouldn't even blame him if he wanted to try to win another CL before finishing his European club career.

He's earned that and his fight and attitude this season has been one of the lone highlights of the season.

I don't think we can afford to let Ronaldo go at the moment. He's the only player we've got who's both consistently fit and more importantly knows where the back of the net is.

He's naturally going to 'melt' over the next couple of seasons so if we get our recruitment right under Ten Haag he can be used more sparingly as Old Father Time inevitably wields his scythe.

I like the look of Elanga who's young but has stepped up to the plate since the Greenwood er thing :nervous: but we definitely need a young hungry striker to come and learn from CR7.

There must be someone out there thinking they could restore United to their former glory and in doing so make themselves a legend, at the same time wake this colossus from it's ever deepening slumber.

He's the only genuinely world class player we have left in the squad that's consistently fit and available, not to mention one of the few serial winners too. It would be madness to want him gone. He'd be a wonderful influence on our new attacking signings too assuming we sign players that are hungry, motivated and look like they're bothered.

I want him to stay. I've had my doubts about his impact on morale, but I think recent stories show he is probably the most professional player in the squad and his performances when managed properly are still head and shoulders above any other forward we have.

However I think if a semi decent team in the CL come sniffing, he's off.

I think he'll stay if ETH made it clear that he wants to count on him, and I think he'll be made the captain as well.

Why would anyone want to see him leave??
That is nuts....

He is still a hugely fit and reliable player.

Keep him at all costs.

Given his form the past month or 2, definitely want him to stay. He just needs his gametime managed. But he can still have a huge role. Up to Ten Hag to make it work, but Ronaldo works hard during the games and he can only be a positive influence on the others. Id be more concerned for players who don't see him as an inspiration tbh.

We need another striker to rotate with him/play with him sometimes, but eventually replace him, but why not?

I answered no, because I think he’ll leave and want something better than another season with us at the start of a rebuild. Not that I want him to.

Counter-intuitively I think it may be best if he does go, it’ll remove the sticking plaster and show what we need to do as a team with not having him covering for other players ineptitude.
