Wait wait, 4 years waiting for the answer.
Real Madrid putted a deadline with Sergio Ramos, and then they “fired” him (after having won 4/5 champions league and squad cpt)

Looking forward to the club pandering to him for the next 6 months in an attempt to get him to sign.

Why is it still on the table? Should never be allowed to enter final year. Extend, or move him on.

it’s painfully obvious he’s running his contract down. even if we got a bid from
a place like psg, pogba probably wouldnt sign on. we had to sell him two years ago, and this is now the logical consequence of previous poor decision making.

Very few teams can afford to pay a huge transfer fee and then huge wages. So players running (strolling in Paul’s case) their contracts down will become more and more common.

The clubs will have to react to this trend in some way going forward.

Should have given someone else his shirt number his summer and give him a youth one like 46.

If players want to run down their contracts that's fine, but we need to start playing similar games with regards to marketing.

I don't know why anyone at the club would be intrested to sign extension. Just get rid of him. Sell him if you can in January. There have been some few bright moments through his years but mostly he has been extremly overated. He is one of the players that are great through reputation but completely opposite in reality.

Seems to me like we're playing it right. From PR point of view, we don't want to make it look like we want to get rid of him. But it's very likely we don't agree to his terms and it's a lowball offer.
We could easily pay him what he wants, the club simply doesn't see him as a key element to the team and rightly so as he isn't one and doesn't deserve galactico wages.

I can't decide which teams managing board are more clueless and without any football knowledge or common sense, PSG or United.

The least Pep player ever. Hope it happens.
Me too. Finally idiots like yourself can turn your vitriol on the players we’re left with that seem to get a free ride whilst he’s at the club.

The guys leaving, spend more time in the Maguire, Shaw & McTominay threads.

It would be funny to see the people who call him a virus turn around and call him a snake.

On a football level, it would be a great move for him and City.

He’ll do well there I reckon. He needs some hard working midfielders around him to thrive. He’ll be able to continue his clown/ circus act with impunity there too.

I think he'd do ok for them. They wouldn't be overly reliant on him as they've already got quality ready made replacements, if his injury issues continue.
And aslong as they have the majority of players doing the pressing leg-work for him , he should also be fine while playing with the freedom he clearly needs and enjoys.

Overall, he could be the right player for them in this time and be the wrong player for us, strangely.

United need a complete overhaul and having a individual on his likely massive wages, injury issues plus his inconsistency, it'll be best if he moves on, even if it is to our city rivals.

The most annoying aspect of him going to City would be when he has his one or two good performances of the season, among numerous average ones, everyone will be lamenting letting him go.

Be interesting to see how he'd play with proper coaching.

I reckon he'd be a smash hit under guardiola tbh. If deschamps can get a tune out of him so can pep.

Pogba and Grealish in back to back windows really does feel like the City group are trying to get more in the way of PR and media attention.

I just don’t think Pogba has it in him anymore physically. Think the injuries have taken their toll and at his age on the last big salary it’s too big a risk.

He can’t play DM for United without getting bored but he’s going to be able to play in a regimented system? Okay…

I hope he goes, it will be a bigger failure than the Grealish transfer
He isnt a DM and since City, unlike Manchester United, have defensive midfielders he wouldnt have to play dm. He never played with a DM during all his time at United. Would be interesting to see how he does play with one next to him. For France it helps him be a very good player for example.

He can’t play anywhere else for more than 8 games a season either without something being wrong with his chakra. He’s like a panda that won’t mate because he’s kept in captivity. All the moons need to align to get a performance out of him.

If they think signing Pogba is going to get them the CL, I’ve got some pretty upsetting news for them

City are going to win the league next year with or without Pogba so who cares if he goes. He's 29, he only has 2-3 years max at a top level. We won't be legitimate title contenders by then so completely irrelevant. He was a failure here regardless and a lot of that is down to him himself

That wasn't very nice now, was it
I did think to omit. It’s a bit tiresome being part of a fanbase that only criticise certain types of players though, whilst others just need fresh starts.

Hoping a good player goes to a rival when the club is a shit show & his midfielder partners can take until 80+ mins to make a successful pass in the 2nd half is the height of idiocy. It didn’t work for him here, but hoping he goes to our city rivals is the height of pretence. He’d go there, look a better player & the same people would then say oh well it’s cause he didn’t try with us.

It’s rather telling how people are more concerned about players with feet out the door than the absolute dross that will still be here next year.

this is just a power play by his agents to force us into offering him a better contract.

exact same move they did with ronaldo - except I don’t think we will fall for it this time

Outgoing players at City could be better than the incoming ones this summer...it has the potential to go wrong especially if they fail to win the league this season.

Having watched Pogba for 5 years I can't say I'll envy the team that gets him next season.
