Never been consistent in his career. Can’t see it happening at City

Getting rid of Toure was a high priority for Pep when he took over at City. People here thinking Pep would be interested in signing him must not have watched a single game city have played since Pep took over. Pep likes nimble, fast, hardworking players which rules Pogba out. There isn't a snowballs chance in hell that Pep is interested in signing him.

Pogba does well in slower paced football which is why he is good for France at international level and why he was good in Italy. He needs to play at a slower pace, not faster.

If this news causes us to increase his contract off similar to what happened with Sanchez and Ronaldo then I give up, I really do.

In Pogbas defence, he does need to be surrounded by better players and that never really happened for him at United, perhaps however that's not really a defence, it's more of a criticism.

The Guardian article says if he moves to City he'll have to accept less than he's currently on
Well officially anyway

It would be interesting to see. Just to see if Pep can instill discipline and work rate in him which he has never had from the u18 through to now.

He won't be missed here whether he's brilliant elsewhere or not.

Next to a disciplined holding midfielder like Rodri I think Pogba would be brilliant. He can play in the same way Gündogan does as a #8 who is constantly getting into the box rather than being a deeper sitting player.

If i was Pogba i would 100% be driving for a move to Liverpool or City, just to rub it in the face of the United fans who scapegoated him for his whole United career, in his opinion of course.

Be interesting to see how he'd play with proper coaching.

I reckon he'd be a smash hit under guardiola tbh. If deschamps can get a tune out of him so can pep.
Maybe Klopp should have a go. He will be diagnosed as asthmatic and be a box to box midfielder in no time .

I honestly couldn't care less. I'm just glad when this chapter is finally over, it doesn't really matter to me where he goes next. Doubt it'll be City though.

Doesn't seem like a Guardiola player at all. I doubt he would actually improve them.

It's a lot easier to ask that of him when you have 65% possession and only have to ask him that of him for a 1/3 of the game.

When has he ever consistently made runs into the box? For a 6'3" midfielder he's scored, what, 2 headers in his United career? He has all the physical attributes to be a dominant PL midfielder but he's just too lazy. With his build he should be scoring 4-5 headers a season, even Soucek at West Ham manages that from DM. Saying he has the wrong players around him to do that is just making excuses, he just can't read the game well enough to time runs into the box or even make the effort to make them.

Part of that is because they win it back so quickly, which he'd have to contribute to.

I would love to see Pogba at City. Seems the perfect player for Pep. Hard working, unselfish, hates showboating and puts the team above his ego. Just perfect.

Tevez would hurt more than Pogba...and he wasn't even ours. The man even held an RIP Fergie poster or whatever it was.

That's how disconnected I feel to Pogba right now.

I highly doubt City would take him. He isn't the player who will take them to CL glory, that's for sure!

If he plays anything like for us it would be funny to see him constantly give up possession for them. Not to mention his careless approach to defending.

If he signs for them for less than we pay him now then he’ll have some resale value if it doesn’t work out. You can see how City could see this as a win win transfer.

I have no emotional investment in Pogba at all any more…apart from the price tag, his time here barely registers in the club’s history.

I‘m not sure if these City links are to make us feel angry or anything but meh, off you go.

De Bruyne, Foden, Gundogan and Bernardo are all better players than Pogba and put in a lot more work. Pogba wouldn't improve them at all. I doubt that they are truely interested, maybe they are just trying to sucker us into another mistake by feigning interest, making our stupid owners panic and hand him a new deal. I hope we don't fall for it.

Think it's just agent trying to get other clubs to up their offers. Let's face it, he's soon going to be 30, doesn't have the work rate, has to have a team built around him and would want mega money.

I think it'll be Juve once they've sold a few players and got the Ramsey contract off their books.

Gündogan has been twice the player Pogba has ever been, bar that period where he had that chronic back injury, even then it's close.

I don't deny that he didn't hit heights at United. But are not you curious how he would play under proper manager and in system where we will be the ones who will have the ball more?

That's very strange move. Why would they want Pogba? And where will they play him? On the bench?

surely Pep isn’t this stupid..
Haaland and Pogba would be the start of the downfall.. one on ridiculous wages upsetting the apple cart, and the other downing tools the second things don’t go his way, then flirting with other clubs every window.. enjoy the circus city fans.. and to top it off, Pep will most likely leave soon, and then they’re stuck with them on massive wages.. I don’t see it

Pogba at City would be better than Pogba at United, of course. A rising tide lifts all boats. City are a better team, they have more of the ball, they are less vulnerable at the back. Its much easier to look better in a top team than in a struggling team, which is what we are. For example, Ruben Dias looks very good at City. Would he look the same in our disorganised set up with our mishmash of playing pieces?

For all that, I won't shed any tears if Pogba goes to City. I liked Tevez more when he left and, similarly, wasn't bothered by him going to City. I'm not that attached to Pogba. He's wanted out for three years and we should never have brought him back. In some ways it would be a fitting end to the era of Banter United, to see us bring back Pogba for £90m get pretty much nothing out of him, then lose him on a free to City. Hopefully embarrassments like this will teach the Board some lessons for the future about transfer strategy.

Looking at City's side I don't see where he improves them. He's just depth.

I also don't think he's the attraction he and his agent imagined he'd be, hence stories like this getting dropped. There's probably only a couple of clubs vaguely interested at his current age and contract level so they're drumming things up.

For us Pogba is an irrelevance moving forward. He's not good enough to be part of our rebuild. There's nothing to miss and even if he signs for our rivals there's no evidence he supercedes their current bunch. Also our rivals are that far ahead for the next few years that we don't really need to worry about what they're doing, we just have to start moving ourselves upwards before focusing on that. So although it would sum Pogba up to do this it wouldn't actually be that hurtful.

Bit scummy from Pogba's side but by all means, wouldn't mind if he goes there at all. He won't improve them and he's declining as a player IMO and will do more harm than good as he's not a player suited to Pep.

I would be happy if he just leaves, even to city or liverpool.
