We're no longer a top club in the footballing sense. We have to be realistic and buy the players to fit to our current stature and build our way to the top as liverpool have the last 5 years. That means scouting players under the radar. We're not getting any of the current hyped talents. Just as liverpool didn't in the past. We're too low on the food chain.
Hardly a bad thing as the current hyped up talents turn out to be very expensive average talents the majority of the time.
If we can manage to get a Torres or a Suarez into the club in the next season at a good price I will be happy.

If i were him I'd want a release clause as a condition for signing with us. Sacrificing trophies for game time might be a sensible move but not if you get stuck at a trophyless club.

We're too proud to entertain such arrangements though.

Not too often you see a player score two from outside the box with either foot in the same game. Quality strikes both as well.

And you wonder why we create divisions in the locker room? Prima-donna mentality?

We won't get him if any big names come calling around, I'll imagine he's Madrid bound especially if they fail to get either Mbappe or halland.

Would love him at United but with the state we’re currently in that’s unlikely to happen. I’d hate to see him at another PL club though.
Yeah could live with him going to Madrid or PSG, however scousers or Chelsea is gut wrenching

He's such a beast of a player. France having a double pivot of Camavinga and Tchouameni in the not too distant future with Mbappe in the attack is dumb.
Yeah their 2026 side should be phenomenal. At the moment, I'd guess:

----------------------Mbappe27---------------
Nkunku28---------------------------------RW
---------Camavinga23----#8/10------------
Theo28-------Tchouameni26--------------
---------Lucas30-Konate27-Kounde27
---------------------Maignan30--------------------

and too many possibilities for the final 2 spots. Obviously some young players will break out, but that's just an incredible core if you figure international football tends to favor guys in their late 20s more than mid 20s typically.

The right wing isn't really a question, unless he gets injured Coman is as much of a starter as Mbappé.

Yeah, but in 4 years, at 29, will he be the best RW option France has? That's tougher to say. He's a wonderful winger, but he seems like a guy who could be passed by an absolute feck off terrifying talent. And with Mbappe's versatility it could be a forward or a winger, really, as we're seeing with Benzema now.

Who would you bet on being the 3rd man in midfield? Caqueret?

You listed players that are 28 and 30, so 29 should be okay. And Coman is probably the most talented french player of this generation, outside of health issues he is one of the least likely to lose his place and it won't be for Nkunku, Dembélé or anyone of that ilk.
And I don't know how France will play in 4 years, the only I can tell you is that Mbappé, Coman, Tchouaméni, Camavinga and the Hernandez brothers are the most likely to be starters the rest aren't. I could easily see something like that:

---------------------Mbappé
Coman---------Nkunku--------Dembélé
----------Camavinga----Tchouaméni
Théo--------Lucas-----Konaté-----Kalulu
-------------------Maignan

How is Cherki doing these days? So much hype and promise.
He is developing and only 18 years old.

What? Mbappé?!?!?!?!
Personally I take Coman when it comes to talent. He is the most complete when it comes to tactical and technical proficiency. Mbappé has to be protected tactically because he has no tactical awareness without the ball when you can expose Coman with the most useless fullback and he will be perfectly fine. Mbappé is a great attacking player but he is exclusively useful when your team has the ball otherwise...

Liverpool getting even stronger

Planning ahead with Henderson turning 32 next month and Milner being 36 he would be a great addition to their squad sadly.

Get Paul Mitchel and double his signing on bonus if he can land us this guy.

Casemiro is 30 and clearly on his way down with no back-up. This is dumb.

I kinda hope Mbappe extends with PSG so we can focus on other areas like DM and RB.

Maybe we can ask club legend Paul Pogba to put in a good word.
Don't Man City have enough midfielders without having to add Pogba and Tchouameni. I think Tchouameni could transform our midfield. Let's tempt him with Jadon-type money.

Maybe Jadon money is too much, but we need to tempt him somehow.
I agree but unfortunately we're not in the position to be called tempting exactly.
We'll see but our chances of landing this kid is almost nonexistent.

I'd pass up on this guy if it meant we got in 2 solid center backs and maybe a LB or RB.

This team needs a rebuild starting from the back. Tchouameni is not going to single handedly stop us leaking goals with Maguire and Lindelof tasked to be the last line of defense.

If we have to see another season of McFred in midfield I fear for what a lot of United fans, myself included, will do, i swear to god if I have to watch that midfield combination again in my lifetime after this season i will commit crimes

I'm sure a CM is also a priority but I was speaking in terms of the class of Tchouameni. I'd sacrifice the transfer of such a highly talented DM for 2 CB that will improve our defensive line and be happy with a DM of lesser quality as a squad player until we can get that level of Tchouameni in the following transfer window. Besides our ability to land Tchouameni doesn't look good anyway with no CL football. Our priority should be to stop leaking goals.

Donny Van Der Beek will also be available and he knows ETH's systems so its not like we'll see McFred combo for very much longer. Of the two I rate Fred higher so not sure about McTominay.

Fred is much better but McTominay will get the ‘academy lad’ treatment from everyone so expect him to stick around for a long while yet like a bad smell

I really don't like McTominay and I fear you may be right on that front.

No, we have to address the midfield. It’s been neglected for far too long. If we don’t score goals, we bring in attackers; next year, we let in too many goals and load up on the back line. The pendulum keeps swing back and forth without touching the midfield.

Someone should tell Liverpool his French teammate Pogba is waaaay better, and he'll be free with the added benefit of getting one over on United.

No Just No. The back line isn't half as bad as people think and is probably our strongest area. The problem is lazy wingers and a championship quality midfield in Fred and Scott. Our defence is constantly getting battered with lack of protection. The midfield is the driving force behind any team. I fully expect Ten Hag to sign a right winger and two new central midfielders this Summer and play a 4-3-3 with VDB and two new midfielders. A right back is needed all right. I'm not sure how Bruno will fit in his plans.
LW Sancho CF Ronaldo RW Anthony
CM VDB CM Touchamei CM New signing.
LB Shaw CB Maguire CB Varane RB New signing.
