Guardiola is only doing what Fergy did and that is to create an underdog attitude and a ‘Poor us, nobody loves us’. Of course the Bitter Bitter fans say it’s jealously because of the money but never mention the sports washing and dodgy dealings that have gone on for years. It wouldn’t surprise me if another scandal broke about undeclared payments or creative accounting. It’s just their culture.
Back on topic. Watching Guardiola on the touch line makes you feel he’ll have a heart attack at any moment. He has stated that he will take a sabbatical when he leaves City. Don’t care what he does.

He said he used to be Fraudiola but now felt comfortable enough in own skin that he had evolved to Guardiola. His hope is next year he will peak as Charizard.
Personally I found him to be more similar to diglett but that'll do it aswell.

European football was a heck of a lot harder to win when Sir Alex was managing us, top players were spread out more across more clubs than they are now.

And as for your last point, Real Madrid the Spanish Champions are better than City, better defence, better midfield, and with King Benzema, they have a better attacking line up.
I don’t really think it is less difficult to win the Champions League now, there are still a lot of sides with top players. If you think Madrid are better than City in every department then it’s difficult to be too dismissive of Pep for being knocked out by them no?

How can it possibly not be less difficult when there are less top teams?

City, Liverpool, Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern, Chelsea etc are all usually thought of as having a chance of winning it, along with teams like Atletico Madrid that can be tricky ties. I don’t quite agree that is less difficult for Pep to win it with this City team than for Sir Alex to win it with our 2008 team for example.

In Fergusons time first half of his stay will be 1-2 teams per league. 2nd half of his stay there will be Juve, Milan, Barca Madrid and Bayern Chelsea and Liverpool (Arsenal were like the Dortmund or Ajax of now)
Peps time 3 English, 3 Spanish, Bayern PSG Juve

Pretty low of Pep but Evra's comments were daft. The fact that Pep is uncompromising in what he demands from players does not mean he doesn't want big personalities.

Feels like an out of character quote from Pep to have a straight hit at someone or a club like that. He's usually respectful and tries to dodge these questions. Maybe he has had enough and honestly I don't blame him.

He even said "I destroyed them" before quickly correcting it to "we". I don't remember the last time he talked about himself in that arrogant way. The media really got on his nerve.

Wait, it came from Evra? I thought it was from an actual pundit like Neville or Scholes. Evra is basically an influencer at this point, so it's like watching Pep getting riled up and responding to something Jake Paul said.

He might want to stop bottling big CL games if the poor darling has had enough?

I don't see a problem with him responding to a petty comment with the same action

Plus Berbatov should be the last person to talk

Berbatov didn't even play in 2011. In 2009 he was a sub I think. So, yea he's very wrong. Where was his Barcelona's character when they were getting destroyed by 10 men Inter and Chelsea at home?

And he said "I" destroyed them. The sheer arrogance that comes from having an all time great in your team for a few years. My word!

Well I can't agree with Pat's comment about him not being able to "work with people with personalities" since we all know Pep is a brilliant manager who's been successful where ever he's been but Berba calling Man City a small club is a straight and concrete fact and Pep knows it himself deep inside so I don't know why should he be so arsed to comeback to a comment made 10 days ago in a reply to a question which is completely unrelated to the subject. Reminds me of Rafa Benitez's "facts" rant which made him look like a complete fool.

Really? One of the worst decisions ever made by SAF is not even including Berbatov in the CL final squad when he was the PL top scorer at that very moment..

With context, I don't even think what Evra said was that bad, because it does kind of explain how they seem to fall apart in the CL in the most comical ways.

p.s.- I also said this in his thread, that Arteta is similar, so probably cut from the same cloth etc

Pressure of not winning the big one as a nation state in the premier league clearly getting to him.

He destroyed a makeshift midfield with the best player in the world, but that’s the last time he has done it despite have every conceivable advantage.

Maybe Haaland will finally bring the inevitable big one and he can persuade himself he doesn’t have a ridiculous advantage over the rest of the competition and the league.

The season he had 0 goals in the competition?

And also 0 the year before

Even in his 21 goal season, he was poor for the most part, not to mention that terrible run towards the end

It will be very interesting to see how Haaland will fit into this City team.
Guardiola already clearly stated that Haaland had to adopt to City's style of play rather then Guardiola adjusting City's game to accommodate Haaland.

I'm not convinced that Haaland is able to adopt his game easily, if at all.

It will be very interesting, but this city team create so many chances, and he is so powerful and athletic, not to mention intelligent, with his runs, and his reading of the game. It’s hard to imagine a scenario where he isn’t scoring regularly

He might score goals but look like out of place in City's tiki taka football.
Also he already struggled in Dortmund when the other team defended deep leaving no space. This will happen more often in the EPL as City usually suffocate other teams around the 16 yard box and less teams are playing a high line than in the Bundesliga.

I would love it but f Haaland flops, but can’t see it. City will lose some control due to playing 5 instead of 6+ midfielders but on balance there won’t be much difference.
We can just hope that Haaland is not consistent or out of form from time to time.

I think the so called anti-personality stick that some people hit him with was first ignited by Zlatan who called Pep's Barca Squad "bunch of quiet boys" which in my opinion was only the Swede trying to protect his gigantic ego after failing to excel in that Barcelona side but nevertheless it started a trend which explodes right after each of Pep's failures. I'd say the main reason he hasn't won the CL after leaving Barca is simply down to the fact that no manager in the world can implement the same style in different clubs and different countries and achieve the same amount of success. You might win one trophy or two in different countries like Ancelotti does but even he hasn't managed to create winning dynasties which would continue for more than one year with anyone of the clubs he has managed. Even Prime Mourinho failed to win the CL with Chelsea and then Real Madrid. The standards that Pep set with his Barcelona side and the quality of that team is always set to make him look average whenever he fails to win a trophy with another team.

What a great job he has. If Haaland experiment fails his club will buy him a Felix or nkunku or a young messi instead of showing him the door. Zero fear of failure.
