Brilliant stuff. Congrats to the lads, well deserved and just a brilliant bunch of kids. Congrats to the fans too. Sounded a great atmosphere, and 65k for a youth team game is incredible

So I just looked it up and while we're still ahead it seems that Chelsea and City have built a bit of dynasty on the youth scene.

Can we replicate it?

Some turnout tonight, great for these players. Both sets may never play in front of 60,000 plus.

Brilliant stuff. What this club is built on!
Sitting in a sushi spot and following the game with this thread! This is what the Caf is all about!!
Let’s carry these vibes into next season! I remember watching the Class of ‘92 and seeing their class in the youth team! Let’s hope we get a repeat of what came next after 1992!

I was out and missed it. I heard the attendance would be big but I didn't know it was that big. Wow! Well done to the U18s. Hopefully one or two will come through to the first team but it must have been an amazing experience for them.

Was there. Forest were a much more physical and agricultural side. Got Vietnam flashbacks of while Joyce was here.

No mistake that we killed them we took off our diddly forward line and matched them more physically

I know that Garnacho will get many of the plaudits and rightly so, but in my opinion Maxi Oyedele changed the game. I didn't think it was a great performance by us. We definitely had the better technical footballers and showcased that on occasions, though it was really visible how much stronger physically the Forest players were. Oyedele and Hugill for Hansen-Aarøen and McNeill was a clear shift by us and Oyedele in particular was a wall. Tackles, blocks, headers, calm on the ball. Terrific!

Just to add, it was an absolute privilege to be there. As a season ticket holder, it was my favourite game of the season.

143 different players have played in FA youth cup finals, and 79 have gone on to play in first team.

Just got back!
67k there tonight.
Left with a massive beaming smile on my face. Not left OT like that in a while.
Nice one, lads!

So so proud of the kids tonight. Thoroughly deserved (dodgy penalty aside) and it was refreshing to see a United side play with hunger, desire and fight. We have some very exciting youngsters the future is bright.

The 1992 fa cup triumph portended an era of dominance, hopefully we could say the same about the group that won it 30 years later.

What a player Jackson is on the ball and defensively. He’s doing his GCSEs now, just let that sink in….
Am I getting this wrong? Was the game not against players about their own age?

Fair enough.
They're not the kind of guys who I would have thought to be good mates
Maybe it was because Big Sam used to get under Wenger's skin.

Sir Alex has spoken about how Big Sam was one of the first to go down the sports science route and how that was a good innovation. There's little fun things like Allardyce asking for Ferguson's autograph recently at Old Trafford and Ferguson swapping Allardyce's post match drink of wine for Ribena once.Allardyce said he enjoyed his post match drinks with Sir Alex more than any other manager.

Allardyce got Ferguson's backing in the press when he was up for the England job too, then helped him post-sacking saying he should get back out there. When Fergie was in hospital the other year Allardyce mentioned he was a personal friend of his.

Congrats to the boys, keep that winning mentality!
Was surprised to see us hit long balls from the back almost all the time, as Forrest were definately the more physical side. We were definately better technically. I think Jurado had a good game, and Mainoo, Bennett and Garnacho had good spells. Garnacho has that superstar type ego-streak though. Nice if you’re a superstar, but doesn’t fly very well if you’re not. We’ll see i guess.
Subs were good, as they gave us better physicality in the centre of the pitch. As long as we were unable to reduce the amount of duelstactically, this was necessary.
Thought their goalscorer Powell looked decent aswell, unfazed by the stage, and with a good drive/passion about him.

I see not reason why we could not next season:

GK: Hanbury and Wooster
Def: Murray, Jackson, Fredricson, Ogunneye, Aljofree
Mid: Mainoo, Gore, Ennis, Mather, McAllister, Oyedele
For: Norkett

So quite a lot of the players involved in the U18 this season is eligible to play Fa Youth Cup next season - and we will probably sign some more youngster during thes summer:

We will have a very good side next season as well

That's great to hear, I always was fond of big sam even though he became a bit of a meme recently (unfair in my opinion as he genuinely is a good manager).

Kinda of heartwarming to see he has made friends from his managing days.

Edit: also was it Sam's team that made wenger go nuts due to their throw ins?

Great to hear, Chelsea seems to have gotten terribly close to our record, I prefer it if united kept the premier title of being the most decorated youth side.

Will definitely bode well for our main team as well.

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
Just back (bloody roadworks!).

Excellent atmosphere, good game, some people say we weren't as good as other games (like the semi).. I thought Forest were a decent side and gave us a game.

Liked their left back, built like a CH but strong, pacy, calm. Also liked their no 10... ran nonstop, harried the defence all night.

For us, Garnacho gets the plaudits. Thought lots of players did ok, thought Bennett solid/scored (reminds me of Tony Adams), Jackson was good (won a lot of headers) and Hugill did well when came on (wasn't McNeills night, isolated and against a CH). No bad performances even allowing for goalie error.

Everyone knows their position and how it fits into the team, shrugged off equaliser and seem to have a strong mentality. History says it's rare for several to come through but lots of them have got a shot.

Great night.

Think that was more Pulis at Stoke, another manager that Ferguson got on well with as it happens. Wenger's Arsenal didn't really like those physical sides at times, especially away from home.

Under Allardyce at home versus Arsenal in the league Bolton's record was W3 D2 L1. Also won 1 and lost 1 at home when he was at Blackburn.

Seems like we just found the common factor to be on Fergie's good graces!

Wenger's biggest mistake was depleting his side of all the physicality (they could dish it out pretty well early on) but that's for another thread.

Hope Allardyce gets the recognition he deserves, did quite admirably in keeping a lot of teams out of relegation on shoe string budget, i think Fergie recognizes that, and he just seems to be like a fun lad to be around as well.
