Newcastle United are considering a £40m deal for Dean Henderson. Sources believe it is likelier Henderson will leave on loan as he is contracted until 2025 and on £110,000-per-week #mulive [@samuelluckhurst]

If it’s a loan with obligation to buy, then we should go for it. Newcastle spent a lot in January so not sure they can pay the amount without sports-washing some money.

40M for a goalie is solid price. If you think de Gea is your man, that's more cash for the transfer kitty.

Sell him. Sell Rashford and Martial and Maguire and Varane and Wan Bisaka too

Always loved Deano, been watching him since his loan days at Sheffield Utd. Potentially top goalie but he needs to leave the club to save his own career and 40M is just too good to turn down

He isn't a ball playing GK and DDG is fine as a more old fashioned one anyway.

This seems like April fools.

Is the source well known?

Although I think Henderson would be much more of a ETH goalkeeper I think if Newcastle are going to offer north of £30 million when we’ve got Heaton and others in reserve as back up for De Gea then we’d be mental to turn it down, that is basically the fee we’re apparently being quoted for Antony and Timber and not far off De Jong.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
We should be getting 30m. He’s a top young English goalkeeper. 40m seems a bit of a stretch. Also you’d hope we aren’t useless enough to pay him 110k per week guaranteed - without starting bonuses and the no CL reduction I’d think it is a fair bit less than that.

Even if De Gea isn't your man, you could probably find an alternative who suits ETH's style more than Henderson does for less than £40m, be it this summer or next.

In a world where Jose Sa was picked up by Wolves for €8m and Maignan was bought by Milan for €15m, getting £40m for Henderson would be something. So much so that I don't believe we would actually get that much.

I like Henderson, but this would be a good piece of business. De Gea has reclaimed the #1 spot and Henderson need to play, win/win.

Robert Sanchez has looked impressive at Brighton but they'd probably want a lot now.

There is nothing Old fashioned about De Gea Unfortunately he is just an average keeper lacking in fundamentals outside his shot stopping abilities . Sell Henderson for all I care but another season of De Gea would only hinder United under Ten Hag sooner we thank him for his services better it would be.

Doubt this will happen.... we just don't sell players at decent prices due to our insane wage structure.

£40m is more than fair when you think how much they tried to flog us Longstaff for.

Be a decent deal that the lads well overhyped solid keeper but not a world beater some people claimed him to be.

I'd drive him to Newcastle for 40mil. That would boost our warchest nicely.

Plenty of decent back up goalie options on free transfers this summer as well. Get rid of him. Use the £40m to help me become more popular with the ladies. Its an easy decision. Come on Darren Fletcher, get this done!

Yeah right. Never mind the price, do they even need a keeper?

If he's worth £40m he should be starting for us because De Gea isn't.
