Reliable reports have said we've not offered him an increase? If there is it's probably just bonuses based on achievements/appearances/etc.
If any new contract is performance linked then Pogba will owe us money. We should not even be considering resigning him; hes been at United nearly 6 years and played under 3 managers, and seen them all off, and has under performed every year and for every manager; why do people keep thinking that he might suddenly come good? There is more chance of Martians landing in Downing Street!

Have to agree - not sure why City would go for him they are past doing things to antagonise us. It did not work out at United for whatever reason, the club being in constant crisis did not help nor did his frequent injuries but he never seemed to player to grab the opportunity by the scruff of the neck. It would appear now his options are limited and likely will include a substantial pay cut, although will likely be offset by a fat signing on fee. While I bear him no ill will, I hope he does not remain at United, we need a clear break from the recent past and another bumper pay day to an underperforming player does not send the correct signal. Frankly we have all expended enough energy on him and I wish him well (unless he goes to City), but off!
Couldn’t care less if he goes to City, he simply weakens the team because of his work rate, yes he’s great sometimes in possession but he doesn’t read the game that we’ll and won’t buy into Pep’s 3 second rule of wining the ball back, so he’ll be subbed a lot at city, he will only be used as the 6 at city, they play so high up with Centre backs high and only really Walker used as a last sweep up line so city will lose more points playing Pogba rather than Rhodri in the CDM role and be open to being exposed down their left side, it’s why Salah always does well against them he’s so high on the right he’s the obvious out ball, Jared Bowen for West Ham at the weekend exactly the same left footer wide on the right with pace , City weakness Even united exposed this when our strikers were playing well in the previous two seasons, POGBA makes them significantly weaker against good sides and marginally better against average and weak sides so jog on Paul, no one cares anymore !

I'm not even sure I believe the City link story... just doesn't feel like a Pep sort of player to me

Can't wait for him to leave, although I'm sure he will start talking bad about the club once he steps out of the door.

I 100% want him gone, but would accept him staying if a) He accepts a new contract under reduced terms AND b) Ten Hag specifically wants him.

I'm sure he'll come back and sign what we've offered once he's completed his European whore tour and realises no-one else is stupid enough to offer him what we have

Sigh

The only words Ten Hag should say are "Go, and dont let the door hit you in the arse on your way out!"
This was a perfect opportunity for you to quote Gloria Gaynor and you didn't. Disappointed.

I have a feeling he will sign a new contract here

Get the same feeling.

New deal. Some quotes about how it's a new start and he's ready to commit the rest of his career to United. And how Ten Hag is the first manager with a clear plan for him.

First bump in the road, he'll get 'injured' and then be speaking to French media about how lovely Turin and Madrid are this time of year.

There is no way we would give him a new deal. He’s too injury prone for big contract.

Why are we even resigning and offering him a contract. If no one signs him, let him rot as a free agent (although I’m sure he’ll get an offer from Juve or PSG but it’ll be an offer lesser than ours)

At this point I'm hoping PSG do us a favour. Tell the Arabs Mbappe is leaving and that they'd need a new poster boy.

If we extend his contract, I'm not so sure much has changed in the club's thinking, despite all the changes that have been made.

Don't underestimate how many stupid football clubs there are out there. Jose Mourinho is notorious for coaxing teams into sacking him after the three season mark, and yet clubs keep employing him.

But saying that....

I doubt any club is stupid enough to match Paul Pogba's current wage (£300k pw), never mind almost doubling it to £500k pw. Not many teams could afford it.

The latest news is that Juventus have offered Pogba a 3 year contact, but they haven't met his wage demands. Which goes to prove, once and for all, that he's nothing but a money grabbing mercenary. He loves Juventus, but not enough to take a wage drop.

I doubt PSG would touch him. Manchester City won't go near him. Who does that leave?

I can see Pogba being to Newcastle what Robinho was to Manchester City... their first ever marquee signing.

If we are offering a contract worth £500k pw, it should be retracted as soon as possible.

That would be the dream.

Just offer pogba the mbappe money. Actually, they probably wouldn't. Don't even know how keen they really are on good ol pogs.

Might just need to sign him to sell shirts now that mbop is going.

I think pogs got a reality check in terms of his wages/salary offers. Only psg is going to come close to what he earns here. Nobody else will touch him.

He can dance the fecking night away with neymar in that farmers league. Imagine the workrate of him, neymar and messi.

Good. Though this tweet looks suspiciously like the one a few weeks back when he was booed at OT. Back then he also “decided to leave”.

This 3-yr saga puts Griezmann's 'La Decision' to shame.

I stay, I go, I stay, I go, I stay, I go.. maybe I stay and go both at the same time?

Schrodinger's Pogba.

Our worst ever pound-for-pound signing?
Has to be, given that we broke the world record to bring him back, paid him a huge salary and now he's leaving again for free. The return on him is comfortably negative.

At least with big transfers like Lukaku and Di Maria, we got most of what we paid back from Inter and PSG respectively.

First ever player to leave the same club on a free 2 times?

And he wonders why he is not loved by the supporters
Why should he owe the club anything at all? If he doesn't want to stay why would he jeopardise that by signing a new contract just so the club can get some wedges for him.

Fans have treated him like shit the second he arrived, despite being one of our best players by a country mile, think he'd be glad to see the back of the supporters more than the club.

Look at how he's treated on here.

We've let him down by the way the fans have treated him, it's disgusting.

The fans have treated him like shit? We've let him down?

That's an interesting take on a footballer who has drained £90m+ wages out of the club and has given very little in return.

The very least fans expect from a player is effort. Paul Pogba has taken Manchester United and the fans for a ride.

On the park he jogs about like he's having a kick about with his mates. Whereas, for France he has run through walls and given his all.

In the 6 years that he's been a Manchester United player he's missed 89 matches through "injury" (it'll be 90 by the weekend) for which, he's spent most of that time "rehabilitating" in Dubai.

With the lack of effort given to the club who have made him a millionaire x 100, to say thar he "owes the club nothing" is extremely provocative. Not even going to mention the amount of hassle Pogba has caused, with the constant Pogba Circus.

He's gotten his brothers to talk shit about the club. He's instructed his agent to talk shit and stir the pot.

The sooner that Paul Pogba is resigned to the Manchester United history books, the better.

Personally, I never wanted him back. He showed, when he left, that he has no love for Manchester United.
