Financially we can’t compete but we can offer what he was originally seeking - guaranteed first team football, freedom to express himself and play in a style that suits him, ability to stay in London where he is settled and coached by somebody he already knows and surrounded by fellow Danes. I think, unfortunately, United is just way too an unstable option for him at the moment and it’s moving away from London. Spurs is more of a worry, so hope Conte stays there is I think that would work to our advantage.
He’s worked with Conte before though right?

I think if a bigger club comes in then Brentford will have to step aside. This will be his last big contract.

And look at Jude Bellingham, sometimes you just have to go for it early based on the talent you see.
I fully agree and I’d love for us to go in for him as I have always been a fan of buying players with massive potential or ready for the next step into becoming a superstar, I’ve never liked us buying big superstar players as they don’t have the same hunger with Ronaldo being the exception to the rule.

I guess it all depends on what happens with Greenwood as well as if he goes as well as Martial, Cavani, Mata and Lingard then I just don’t see us going with players with massive potential and we’d go with a much more proven option up top.

If Greenwood does end up staying and we were to bring in say Antony then we’d have those two, Ronaldo, Rashford, Sancho and Elanga so a punt on Brennan Johnson would be a good shout although would that stifle Shoretire, Diallo, Garnacho, McNeil and Hugill also coming through ?

Yes but Conte didn’t play him at first and Eriksen is quoted as saying they have different ideas of how football should be played. Not under any illusions around the financial packages others can offer but we offer something unique I would say…

Watched the Bournemouth vs Forest match yesterday to get a view of Garner, Johnson and Djed Spence.

I thought all three of them struggled a little with the intensity and physicality of such a high-pressure game, but did also show undoubted flashes of quality.

Personally I feel Brennan Johnson clearly has the talent and attitude to be a Premier League player before too long. Whether he is truly a player with elite potential....well, there wasn't a tonne of evidence of that last night, besides one excellent touch and turn. I believe he'll get a move to a lower mid-table team (if Forest don't go up this year or next) and we'll see whether he can kick-on.

Spence I felt will also end-up being a Premier League RB but I did think his defending at times was questionable and it was really his physical attributes and attacking play that stood out. There was one pass in particular to the Forest CF that was real quality, the type a Premier League AM would be proud of, never mind a Championship defender. I could see him ending up at a solid, lower mid-table PL club.

Garner was harder to judge, playing centrally on a tight pitch, in a hostile atmosphere and against a side who really dominated the ball and territory for large parts. I certainly think Garner held his own and contributed, but on this evidence, I think another loan next season might be best, even though it's tempting to think we could use him. Reminds me of a Carrick-type of player who could take that extra year or two to develop.

He did look impressive over the two games. I feel he wilted a bit from the second half though. Then again the whole team was just tying to hang on after the Sheffield United goal 90 seconds into the second half.

Looks really promising. But i need more time to watch him. Can run and pass players with the ball. No doubt about it. Good to have. Not only passing and passing as and attacking player.

Only have room for beating players and one on one ability. When its right time and effective to use that ability. Instead of passing.

But again. i dont watch championship so often. Same for James Garner.

Signing him is so obvious. This guy replaces Greenwood.
Is doing really well at Forest and seems grounded and has ability, but come one, he doesnt replace the natural ability of Greenwood by a million miles.

Im maybe being overly critical or negative as who knows until he plays in the premiership, but personally for him and if any interest from us, I would like to see Forest promoted and I would like to see him have a season in the premiership with Forest, like I would Garner too. My gut feeling with him, is he is a brilliant player in the championship but possibly a really average one in the premiership. APpreciate that is harsh as he did well in the cup run against some bigger sides.

I remember him! Cool bit of trivia. Didn’t he turn to drink when his career ended? If I remember correctly Richard Keys made a racist comment about him too.
He smashed his Wife's car up in a alcohol fuelled rage, which meant he was sentenced to 12 months community service and 200 hours unpaid work.

Richard Keys was said to have made a racist joke about David Johnson which is covered in the below article.

Looked like he had a fantastic first step with the ball against Ukraine when he came on. Good attribute for what I imagine will be a left winger cutting in to try to score a lot.

Has done nothing wrong for Wales so far in the time he's been given hit the post agsint Ukraine, and scored v Belguim. He's going to Quatar that's for sure, game time in the prem will make him a better player. Let's see how he goes in the prem, potentially he's going in the right direction.

Good player. A horrible little cheat though.
