Yes because professional scouts and coaches will always get everything right, hence our top recruitment the last 10 years
Much of our recruitment over last 10 years has not been led by professional scouts at all. LVG picked players he liked from the World Cup, Mou signed whoever Raiola was touting, Woodward made statement signings as he thought he was creating new galaticos and focused on Twitter followers, Ole and Phelan decided to buy British and overule the scouts. One can quesion the quality of our scouting and lack of strong data analysis, but that really wasnt the problem

it’s just a question for people who have watched him play more than I have. Reading up on him his passing is one of his strongest assets along with tackling so it’s just a general question.

players get converted to different positions all the time, especially when as young as he is, it’s nothing new.
But very rarely do they get signed to play in a different position.

There's been plenty of reports that our scouting team weren't monitoring top players like Nkunku and we've just sacked some of the most infuential members of our scouting team so that would suggest they should take at least some of the blame. The rest of your points sound very speculative apart from the Woodward one. Ole wanted Bellingham and Haaland and didn't get them, even though they would have most likely been fantastic signings. Haven't seen anything to suggest Ole was refusing to sign any players from abroad (why would he anyway, he's not even English?) We've also signed plenty flops from outside England over recent years like Telles, Dalot, Fred and Lindelof.

Why don’t you send him your own dossier in the side, I’m sure he’ll take on board what the great dazzmondo has to say.

In the meantime I’m sure he’ll watch them all with what he wants in mind and work out who he thinks he can tweak to get what he wants out of them.
Don't know what the point of a forum is. God forbid someone should disagree with the recruitment team. Don't know why you bother posting at all since a basic discussion on a player's strengths and weaknesses is such an afront to you.

No no that's fair I just find Leipzig to be a rather strange choice, it's basically a commercial for redbull masquerading as a football club that's why I find it hard to see why anyone would wear their shirt.

Fair enough if you like to wear them it's not like I have any authority on who wears what
Cheers, I totally get what you are saying. I just love their homeshirt design this year, and I am a fan of Gvardiol, because my other half is Croatian, and I think he's going to be a top level CB. But it definitely is a walking advertisement for Redbull.

ETH has seen the kid play as a youth and brought him into the first team....i'm sure he knows exactly where he wants to play him and doesn't give a flying fuk about which league it is

I'm sure LVG thought that as well with Depay..

I still think we should go for DeLigt instead of this kid. If we really want to sign a young CB, go all in for Ndicka.
I rate Ndicka incredibly highly, think he’s a bargain with that release clause.

LvG didn't bring Memphis from the youth system into the PSV first team so not exactly the same comparison
Second part still applies. You cannot just take a player from the dutch league and 'not give a fuk' playing him the same way in the PL.

From ETH's last interview on Ajax YouTube

ETH on Jurrien Timber:

"He's another great leader that was trained at Ajax, besides his football skills he has the personality to become a captain"

Interviewer: "Please don't take him with you"

ETH: *sheepish laugh"

3 of 12 ole signings were English... One was Sancho, one of the world's most productive players, and another was Maguire, who was a club target that the club refused to sign for 90m the season before only to pay 80 in oles first summer. Hardly qualifies as buying British

Why are you so confident that Timber is a good fullback. Looks like he’s only played there four times for Ajax in the last year. I think people are assuming that because he’s good on the ball for a centre back and because he’s quick that he will be a strong full back at premier league level which is quite the assumption.

Whatever about buying him to play centre back and living with his poor aerial ability for the trade offs he provides, if it’s a right back we want, we should buy a specialist in the position who has a proven track record at right back.
Let's see. At least ETH has a very good knowledge of the player and great that he could potentially play two positions when we need to sign so many players.

James too. He also tried to sign Rice, Longstaff. Come on - let's not pretend as if this cultural reboot wasn't a thing. They were purely focused on getting British players. Not saying it's a bad thing or good thing but that was very real.

then you've either bough the wrong player or your system is wrong for the league

Nothing Wrong in British players with the talent England has currently

Yeah, as long as you don't spent 150m on James, Maguire and AWB it's fine I guess.
We bought the wrong English players
All the other teams have good English players .. Chilwell, James, foden, Taa ,Saka, Kane Henderson are good players .. Sancho is a good player too..
We just paid over the odds

Well, that's exactly what I told too. Cultural reboot isn't buying average British players for the sake of it.

I think he knows that. He's just saying that there are good English talents so being anti-English on its own doesn't make sense. It's about getting the right ones.
Keyword getting. Those players are untouchable. So you look for the next tier and hope they can develop.
