I have little hope anything will really change until we have different ownership. I've certainly given up on blind hope with a new manager, especially one who hasn't managed outside Holland. But it would at least make a nice change to be pleasantly surprised for once.

Is anyone else worried we'll see the likes of McTominay and Maguire still start games next season?

Ten Hag is going to look like an absolute genius if he manages to make us somewhat decent next season.

Absolutely. He can't fix everything in one window unfortunately. And the players we have here are not good enough to replace said players.

He should absolutely fix the midfield in the next window.

If he doesn't buy at least two quality midfielders, there's little hope for him.

Where are the folks who were in here the other day saying we should expect top 4 next season? Jesus...we are very firmly an average team these days with an awful awful attitude. Very difficult to even like.

For those in doubt, yes he does have a press conference, confirmed by Stone (BBC):

He slowly realises this job will ruin his reputation.

He'll need a miracle to turn this tanker of shite that is Manchester United FC around.
Not to single you out or anything, but this kind of post baffles me. I've been seeing things like this, as well as stuff to the effect: now that he's seen us live, he'll want to tear up his contract, hop on the first flight out of London/Manchester ... you get the idea. I know it's just jokes, but ...

My question is, what kind of man do you want managing Manchester United? Personally, the only kind of person you want taking such a job is one with an unshakeable belief in himself and his principles; someone who'll be like: yeah, its a difficult challenge, but I'm the guy to do it. No shrinking violets, timid fecks who dither and second-guess themselves.

And besides, experience has taught me that things always look so grim and insurmountable from the outside. Doesn't mean they actually are. All the best to Ten Hag!

I wouldn't form an opinion based on a few months under a Leipzig manager and MLS coaches.

i'm optimistic he can do it but, it's one hell of a task. Look at that team today (even with the players missing) and it's just mind blowing how we've ended up with such dross.

I’m glad he got to see the 21/22 squad live! Must have been a real treat for him a week after winning the league in Holland.

Who is forming an opinion based on a few months? We have played poor to average football for the best part of a decade...this season has just exposed the fuking mental ness going on behind the scenes. Hence the mass exodus of players and senior staff at a “major” club the likes of which has never been seen before.

so no, I reckon what I said was bang on the money.

Maguire been benched plenty by Ralf. Near sure he started today so the new manager can get a proper look at how shite he is

He must think we need 10 players in the summer after today's game.

I hope he didn't agree to a less drastic change in the past few days of working at the club. They're all shit.

Who is the one that survives?
De Gea. Not because he should but because he will.

Maguire and Lindelof shouldn't be first choice. Neither Telles or Dalot.

McTominay or Fred shouldn't be first choice. Elanga or Hannibal shouldn't. Cavani won't be.

Based on this season Fernandes doesn't deserve to be a starter.

The bad news is we have a shit squad. The good news is its now a summer transfer window. We really should let the 10 squad members go and sign 10 new players.

The Lindelofs, Dalots, McTominays and Elangas should be kept on as squad players.

Starting 11 wise the only players we have in the squad that should be starters under Ten Hag are De Gea, Varane, Sancho, Greenwood (on ability) and Ronaldo if he has to stay.
