what did you think of the new guy's media thing?
honestly really didn't like him shaking all the journos hands individually. it was nothing special in terms of what he said
Really liked your last dutch coach, hope this one ends up as entertaining for us
...
Why are they selling awb. Thought he was better then trent ? Best defencive right back in the world. So why sell ?
More importantly who the feck is going to buy him ? If any idiot club buys this crock then they deserve to get relegated.
Wait, I know: Everton will sign him. Do wonders in a relegation team.
I said it in the Everton thread. They haven’t signed a United reject for a while so Wan it is.
I doubt that Everton can afford him, but yes, they are stupid enough to sign him ...
...
This Eric Ten Haag fella looks rattled already. Can’t wait to see him a few months in.
"I spoke with the directors about it. Football is one, two and three at this club and every club these days is commercial. Every club needs it, needs the revenues to be at the top, to do it is necessary but football is one, two, three at this club."

He's turned into ted Rogers

Looks more like a B&M Bargains Guardiola.
And what's he looking at? Wondering how they're going to fix the hole in the roof?
Defo looks like a Poundland Pep, Hopefully not lacking in the overtinkering department.
Saving that for a “how am I doing, boss?” Photoshop next season.
..

Ten Hag has appointed Steve McLaren as an assistant coach.
Must be so he can translate instructions to the players as McLaren has a great Dutch accent.
Another nail in Ten Hag's coffin
...
My Utd mates harping on about the 1999 treble and that no matter if we win next weekend it doesn’t touch what they did that season. They won the league that year with 79 points. We’d have had 3 weeks of playing the kids if 79 points was all it took to win a league.

This Liverpool team pishes all over the 99 Utd team. Won more(+6), drew less (-5), lost less(-1), scored more (+14), conceded less (-9)
I don't even think that's the best Ferguson side, The 07-09 sides were better than their fabled treble side
We've already won two trebles. Win Big Ears again and that will be the clubs third.
A mid-table club, living in the past ...
Are they even relevant anymore?
Nah, yesterday completed their Evertonisation. Crowing about us not winning our third trophy of the season, whilst their useless bunch of overpaid shite were finishing 6th.
Incidentally, by winning both of those trophies we've ensured you get into the Europa with your mighty 6th placed finish, rather than the Conference. You're welcome
I respect their treble but I'd rather live in the moment
That was the greatest single-season achievement by any English club but our current team is still far better, we just have the pleasure of being up against the sportswashing juggernaut, whilst United were duking it out with normal football clubs.
Oh to be able to win the league on 79 points!
...
6th, with a 34 point gap.
9-0 aggregate
It's flatters them immensely, I'm still wondering how they got past 50 pts, they were that bad. They only got 7th due to West Ham dropping points around their European fixtures and Leicester being even worse.
We could have gone to the beach after game 27 and the feckers still wouldn't have caught us!!
Yet they still think they're relevant.
It's amazing really. They were only on my radar twice this season, and that was when we played them.
Also, for the first time in my entire life, I had absolutely no nerves, no worries, no concerns and no trepidation whatsoever before our games with them. Even in the 70s and 80s when they were a laughing stock we were their cup final and they got some anomalous results against us, so I always had nerves before our meetings, but absolutely none this season.
..
Ten Hag doesn't look particularly inspiring in that press conference, I must admit.
By far the biggest criticism I've seen of him from Ajax fans, Dutch people etc is basically he has no personality, charisma etc whatsoever. You wonder how that will go when the times get tough in a dressing room full of huge ego's.
I don't so much wonder as feel like I can take a pretty fecking good guess. This bloke looks like a fecking loser to me.
Seems like that's the word. Looks like he'll struggle with the language a bit, too.

Think they made a mistake not going for Pochettino. I know they wanted a "clean slate" but this fella is totally unproven. At least Pochettino knows the media culture and has a taste of the circus.
...
The irony that United fans cheer on City as Foden at 22 becomes level on PL titles with Eric Cantona and overtakes Cristiano Ronaldo for PL honours
...
Utd have the same players next season. No one is going to buy/take their shit so they'll be there again. This summer no decent player is touching them with a bargepole. It won't be a Varane /Ronaldo/ Sancho window that's for sure.
Then they've got a manager who knows nothing about the PL, much like the clueless Ole and Ralf.
I can see the difference being more than 34 points next season. Unless Maguire, AWB, McFred, Rashford are thinking of becoming decent.
good grief, where to start with that
Of course players will go there, they are a huge club and pay huge wages.
Matic, Pogba, Cavani and Mata are at the end of their deals and the’ll shift a few others no doubt, so if you think it’ll be all the same players, you might be a touch dissapointed

The points tally thing they keep bringing up is comical. It means either the league has got weaker, or the rise of peds…

No one in their right mind would think SAF’s peak teams are c. 15 points worse than these lot.

Much as we love to take the piss out of them, I'm finding it hard to disagree with much in the above.

Must be infuriating to know you won't have a team this good again in possibly another 30 years and your still not good enough.

Would definitely piss me off.

Not taking away from the fact that this Liverpool squad has been unbelieveable over the past few years but it is kinda underwhelming winning two domestic cups on penos after 120 mins of nothing.

And if they lose against Madrid after a nearly unprecendented quadruple, their season is kinda disappointing, no?

I mean, thats how I'd feel if United where in Pools position this season.

Points total crap is completely pointless. All that counts is the league position. After all no United fan prefers the 2000 season to 1999 just because we won the league that season with 91 points and 18 points gap to 2nd place. I mean of course it was a great season but there’s a reason 99 is preferred to 2000. No one said “Oh look, United were actually much better in 2000 than in 99 because they won the league with 12 more points”

They fecked up their quadruple and treble (didn't win the league(, and hopefully won't get another chance. We've got plenty of problems but that'll do for now i guess.

I can. They've already decided ten Hag is a loser or knock-off Guariola/Klopp (somehow both simultaneously) based solely on their hatred of United.

Let's be honest, The Beatles were one of the best things to come out of Liverpool. As soon as they were able to, they got out and never went back.
Ed Byrne said Liverpool named their airport after a Beatle because that was the first place he went when he got a bit of cash.

I’m here for the music debate.

The Beatles actually heavily influenced Oasis. Noel said on many occasions that without the Beatles there is no Oasis. You can hear their influence in early Oasis stuff. The Beatles certainly aren’t boring, you need to listen to more than the mainstream stuff if you think that.
That's a good reason to dislike The Beatles.

I don't know if it's the hatred of United that's informed that decision or the fact that our last four permanent managers have flattered to deceive, so ETH is like a lamb to the slaughter as far as they're concerned....

Big Erik better come out fighting next season.

I reckon he's got a great chance.

There’s very little Beatles in Oasis’s sound; it’s a weird myth that’s been perpetrated by people who ought to know better. The Pretty Things, The Faces and even Slade are far more prominent, but nobody’s heard of them these days so the tenuous Beatles “influence“ is done to death. Liam’s affected drawl has sod all resemblance to Lennon’s; it’s carefully copied from the late great Phil May of the Pretties.

Calling Ten Hag a bargain bin Pep isnt far of the mark. He never stopped going on about his time at Bayern with Pep when he just came to Ajax.

I saw a FB post rant about how a particular fan was angry with Gerrard and he no longer respects him or considers him a Liverpool legend because he did not care about doing them a favour and he threw in the towel by taking Coutinho off, putting Young on(an ex united scum) and bottling a two-goal lead. Then he also went on about how Gerrard did not mention Liverpool in his post-match press :lol::lol:

We decided that about Ole even when he finished second. We decided that about the grandfather of football when he was your new saviour. What say you we'll get the hat trick of right calls? ;)

Already scheduled for May 29th, regardless of the CL outcome.

Can imagine it'll be a bit subdued if we lose though. Still, I think a parade is definitely in place. After not having been able to do one when we finally won the PL due to Covid, feck what everyone else thinks and let the people of the city enjoy themselves.
Ye joking aren't ya?! Liverpool was fecking awash with scousers after winning the title in 2020.

We didn’t do a parade; that’s what I said.
You also said feck what everyone else thinks and let the people of the city enjoy themselves as they were screwed over because of COVID. That's not really true - they most certainly did enjoy themselves in 2020 in gigantic numbers, official parade or not.
