Whats the point in cancelling? They still have two cups and the fans will undoubtedly want to show support for their season.

They likely wouldn't have booked a bus if they knew the CL wasnt coming to Anfield but, rightly, had it booked in the event they do.

Im up for jesting with Liverpool fans but sometimes I feel we go a tad over!
Feck off! They deserve all they get.

I can’t decide if funniest moment was the last 15 minutes of the PL season or the full time whistle in Paris
As long as they involved Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid, you can have both equally. :)

Fair play to Liverpool, looks like good number of fans turned up. Hopefully the days of valuing FA cup as a good trophy to win is back, love to see clubs parading FA cup trophy without any other trophy.

No harm at all celebrating a double of domestic cups. I would be delighted if it were United.

I think it’s ridiculous to have the parade the day after such a crushing disappointment though. Have it over the summer on a nice day by all means, but it looks silly today

Absolutly over the top celebration. It is pretty bizzare. I have not witnessed this before. Anywhere. You could think they conquered the world. They won two trophies. Two.

But if they like to party to that go ahead. At least people are having fun.

Utd fans on here will naturally take the opportunity to gloat but it’s been a pretty good season on the pitch, and financially an exceptional one. There is definitely a changing of the guard feel though, given the ages of some of their players.

A never-nude? I thought he just liked cut-offs.
Not convinced all these Heysel comments are coming from a very good place.
The head of the Association for the Victims of Heysel has described the timing of the parade as 'jarring', and there were quite a few comments on RAWK indicating unease about it too. Personally, I think it's a bit distasteful and unnecessary to hold a parade on this date, and I don't think that's an unreasonable position to hold.

I think if you deliberately add no context it seems weird. If they’d been knocked out in the last 16 of the CL and finished 3rd I’d imagine this wouldn’t have happened. I see it more as applauding a runner trying to run a sub 2 hour marathon who managed the right pace up to the last few hundred metres and just falls short. I’d applaud that, regardless of the fact that others would view it in a binary way as a failure.

Let's be honest, they thought they had the Champions League in the bag. From Carragher to Salah, they were all planning celebrations. Arrogant club.

They had it because they thought they were winning the lot.

Where have you ever seen someone doing this for coming near a trophy? I think they were so certain to win Champions League that they decided to throw a treble party and when they didn't they changed narrative to celebrate football and their season. But for two trophies, this is way over top. Way.

As I said, I think it is pretty bizzare. But I do like people having fun and nice time so party on.

It was pre-planned and they decided not to cancel it, probably due to the money they had forked out. Luckily it turned out to be the best possible outcome.

They put on a good show, to be fair. If this was about trying to make City feel small, it was mission accomplished. But City are still champions.

I will say this, if we are only going to celebrate the league and CL, then we might as well finish football right now if that’s all there is to play for.

Two cups is a great season for any team! The issue is doing the parade the day after losing the biggest game of the season, which they very obviously planned to celebrate today!

It seems weird with any context since the fact is they didn't win the important trophies. First is first and second is nowhere. Applaud the effort all you like but full on parade is a bit much.

Did they not celebrate the trophies at the time?

Ofcourse it is good to win two trophies. Nobody is denying that. But this? For that? Something new for me.

As I said, it is great seeing people enjoying themself and throwing party but this is to much looking for how season ended.

It has been a terrible season. Nothing has gone right. At least, it ends with a laugh, supplied by them.

They clearly thought they would win at least one of the big two trophies.
No way would they have booked a parade had they for example won the league cup, were in the FA Cup final but miles behind City in the league and already out of CL.

Either way, big clubs really shouldn’t book a parade until at least one of the big trophies have been won.

As for celebrating the smaller trophies, well everyone does it on the day the trophy gets presented. You can also show them on the following or last home game of the season if you feel the need. But a parade just for domestic cups is way over the top for the bigger clubs.

To be fair they were probably too busy laughing at us as well, i remember the little digs from TAA and Robertson a few weeks back. oh well.
