He should be any waysIt would mean that Van de Beek is doomed.
Rotate them. YOu know how Bruno is like towards the end of the season when he has been overplayed etc. He can share the responsibility with this gem of a player.Depending on the wages, he’d be a fantastic option to have and a good step towards the necessary overhaul of the dressing room culture. I’m not sure how he and Bruno fit in one team, however.
If both Bruno and Mata could play together, why can’t Bruno and Eriksen?Depending on the wages, he’d be a fantastic option to have and a good step towards the necessary overhaul of the dressing room culture. I’m not sure how he and Bruno fit in one team, however.
Agreed. Yes we have had 3 midfielders leave (Matic as well). Eriksen would be a useful addition to the squad.Mata and Lingard have left the building I don’t see why people are complaining about this one . It’s a no brainer if he’s ok been a squad player
I mean, that’s kinda my point. If there’s not a natural way to fit them both in the team, I can’t see Eriksen coming. He’d probably just as soon remain the main man at Brentford than come here and be a squad player… or just go back to Spurs and play in the CL.Rotate them. It's the VDB obsessive brigade in action. They think that with ETH coming VDB will reclaim his right to the throne in the CAM position and will turn his career back to former glory. Why are people factoring VDB into this conversation? Again, I'll ask, who would you rather have - the Eriksen who played for Brentford for the last 6 months or the VDB who played for Everton for the last 6 months (let's not mention his previous time at Utd).
VDB is a busted flush, there is nothing to suggest he has anything to offer this team going forward.
But Eriksen/United has 2 things going:I mean, that’s kinda my point. If there’s not a natural way to fit them both in the team, I can’t see Eriksen coming. He’d probably just as soon remain the main man at Brentford than come here and be a squad player… or just go back to Spurs and play in the CL.
Eriksen also played as wide playmaker under Poch with Alli playing behind striker.I would take him for sure on a free... but I don't really understand the logic in the signing. Unless Ten Hag actually sees Bruno as a wide player? Eriksen is far better than Van de Beek, but if we are using Bruno as a 10, then Van de beek is more than fine to be our depth for the #10 position while we are in the europa league (or just keeping Hannibal). So I don't really think he's going to be meant as a back up to Bruno, but more to play alongside Bruno and be a regular.
Chance we see him as a backup to Frenkie De Jong as the deeper playmaker with Ten Hag retraining him? His on the ball play style I think would definitely suit it, although we would need a very strong defensive midfielder next to him and behind Bruno. I dunno. It's a weird one. Everyone loves their #10's I guess.
Eriksen is versatile and technical, Ajax 18/19 team had about 4 playmakers starting (De jong, Schone, Tadic, Ziyech), we currently have two playmakers likely to start (Sancho, Bruno), I can see why he'll fancy adding a couple hopefully we'll land De jong too.Eriksen also played as wide playmaker under Poch with Alli playing behind striker.
Think he was also used by Conte in a deeper role for Inter. Don't think he still has the legs for that though..Eriksen also played as wide playmaker under Poch with Alli playing behind striker.
The mind boggles. I mean someone was calling him a pensioner even though he's early 30 ffs. No indication he's lost a beat either after coming backHe is a better passer of the ball and a better set piece taker than anyone in the Man Utd squad, and he would cost nothing. Not sure why people are against this.
We have also lost players like Pogba, Lingard, Mata, Cavani who all played mins taking up attacking positions. We need numbers too, we need lot of attackers.Eriksen is versatile and technical, Ajax 18/19 team had about 4 playmakers starting (De jong, Schone, Tadic, Ziyech), we currently have two playmakers likely to start (Sancho, Bruno), I can see why he'll fancy adding a couple hopefully we'll land De jong too.
Yeah, not sure if he can play lot of games with high workrate if we play him in deeper role, he will add lot of creativity to the team either in Bruno's position or from wide right position.Think he was also used by Conte in a deeper role for Inter. Don't think he still has the legs for that though..
Bruno as a false 9/attacker. Need to stop that guy coming deep.Only way this makes sense if ETH wants to use Bruno as a wide creator or sell VdB.
Or maybe as an alternative to FDJ?
Yes they can both play in the same team if ETH uses Bruno as he uses Tadic in Ajax.I like Bruno but Eriksen is a better 10 than Bruno in every way bar goal scoring imo. Could Bruno and him play in the same team, I'm doubtful but to be honest I'm not sure that should be the main concern. There are four competitions and whoever is playing better will play the main ones.
Bit harsh. He's been at the club for 2 years and he's played about 400 minutes of league football in that time. He clearly wasn't Ole's signing, but he has exactly what Teny needs to get his style up and running. Why are people factoring VDB into this conversation? Again, I'll ask, who would you rather have - the Eriksen who played for Brentford for the last 6 months or the VDB who played for Everton for the last 6 months (let's not mention his previous time at Utd).

I would count him in the squad but plan transfers as if he is the poor version. If he comes good then great if he doesn't no loss on the the field. Then sell in January. Why are people factoring VDB into this conversation? Under 3 different managers, what does that tell you?Bit harsh. He's been at the club for 2 years and he's played about 400 minutes of league football in that time.
It'd be amazing if we can get Ajax or Everton to put in a 15-20M offer for Donny.Might be a clever bit of business to sell Donny and sign Eriksen on a free. We get a better player and money to put back into the team
