I like him even more now
I think two midfielders are required for sure.I like him. He would seem to compliment De Jong very well and is a good price (like £25m). Previously he seemed a bit of a Tifo meme but has developed excellently at DM and does a lot of things well. Good with long shots too which is a quality we don’t really have with Fred.
Only question would be whether his role would be a priority if De Jong comes in. De Jong sits and can mop up in the space just in front of the DMs, albeit isn’t really a ball winner (think the Pirlo to Sangare’s Gattuso or the Carrick to Fletcher for example).
He’s an upgrade over Fred IMHO (especially defensively) but we have a lot of positions we need to strengthen ideally. Does the budget stretch to a ball winning midfielder? Probably not if we’re insistent on expensive CDs and Nunez up front as rumoured (though I believe these are smoke screen targets).
Well not only do you read it here, you see it play out in reality as well. The club has been shambolic the last decade in making under the radar and intelligent signings, and that’s a source of frustration for many supportera.I must’ve read some version of this 1000 times on this forum
why do you do this?
Let me get this out of the way first...
He reminds me of Di Maria.
xD
He seems to post a variation of that exact post in every thread. SadCafe syndrome.I must’ve read some version of this 1000 times on this forum

Year left on cotnract would be cheaper probably than Sangare who I havent seen apart fro from his country to judgeBissouma would still cost a fair bit so I imagine we're looking at cheaper options.
We'll have to compromise in some of the gaps that need filling unfortunately.
well good job you're here to remind us otherwise we might forgetWell not only do you read it here, you see it play out in reality as well. The club has been shambolic the last decade in making under the radar and intelligent signings, and that’s a source of frustration for many supportera.
Haven’t seen him too much but he looks a little immobile to me.
Bissouma would be my first choice without doubt. Class player, knows the league too. Great as both a ball winner and ball user. Sure he has a year left on his deal too.
nightmareObviously the dream would be Declan Rice
Yet no-one wants to take that chanceWell there’s not a sniff of anything - not a sniff of any criminal proceedings, disciplinary action or discussion about his legal status. He’s living his life as normal without any mention apart from a fee on the caf from what I can see.
I’ll take your sarcasm as a thank you and say you’re very welcome.well good job you're here to remind us otherwise we might forget
I totally agree but I’d say the priority is deep lying playmaker who > ST > RW > RB > CD > ball winning midfielder (Fred is more suited to ETH’s system than Maguire IMHO) > LB > GKI think two midfielders are required for sure.
PSV tend to sell reasonably and indicated a few weeks back 20-25m will secure Sangare. I can’t see Brighton selling Bissouma for any less than 30m. It’s PL tax and the fact he’s proven himself in England. Contract expiry could lower it, for sure, but I reckon they’d play us til the very end of the window in the hope another PL team will outbid us.Year left on cotnract would be cheaper probably than Sangare who I havent seen apart fro from his country to judge
Just like Soumare who this forum was convinced was a superstar in waiting. The club will let him go to Leicester or Everton on the cheap where he’ll prove to be a massive bargain, and then we’ll monitor him for several years while considering a bid of £80 million plus.
Bissouma and Greenwood would be lethal at courtBissouma would still cost a fair bit so I imagine we're looking at cheaper options.

So he can shield the defence, break up opponents play and simple pass it to de Jong?Best midfielder in the Eredivisie. He's made for the premier league.
Only reservation I have on him is if his technical ability is a bit too limited for a top 4 club.
He's an energetic, robust ball winner. Like a tanky version of Fred. He's best in a midfield two.
Agreed - someone who can do this effectively is an improvement on what we have.So he can shield the defence, break up opponents play and simple pass it to de Jong?
That would be a good start.
He becomes a pressing magnet then though. Then you have De Jongs partner who isn’t good on the ball being out into ball playing positions because De Jong wants to play it out.So he can shield the defence, break up opponents play and simple pass it to de Jong?
That would be a good start.

that explains a lot, thanksI’ll take your sarcasm as a thank you and say you’re very welcome.
I really don’t get this mindset. Seems like exactly the player we need at a bargain price but let’s sign some else for over the odds instead. I don’t think even Declan’s missus considers him ‘the dream’.Seems like exactly the aggressive high stamina, defensively sound ball winner that would complement De Jong picking the ball up from deep and playmaking, at €35 million too he could be an absolute bargain.
Obviously the dream would be Declan Rice but I don’t think he’s going anywhere this summer with so long left on his contract so Sangare and De Jong with Fred, McTominay, Mejbri and Garner would work for a season in my mind.
Ah yes, but there are that go the other way like Tielemans for example.Just like Soumare who this forum was convinced was a superstar in waiting.
An alright to decent level player who’ll probably level out to Arsenal this summer?Ah yes, but there are that go the other way like Tielemans for example.
Right, we’re too good for Tielemans considering our amazing midfield options. It’s 2022 not 2002.An alright to decent level player who’ll probably level out to Arsenal this summer?
He’s ok. He’s a year on his contract and nobody is beating down the door for him. Leicester will lose money on him.Ah yes, but there are that go the other way like Tielemans for example.
To be honest I'm hoping there might be one or two like that while all the noise is around De Jong, Nunez and Timber. But that might be wishful thinking on my part.Probably one of the deals with had wrapped up but have tried to keep quiet.
Can’t remember what I was listening to but heard we have been following this guy very closely and like him. That was about 2 weeks ago now.
Yeah I’m the same. But the sceptic in me still thinks they are selling us a blank cd with the new new backroom reshuffle. To be honest I'm hoping there might be one or two like that while all the noise is around De Jong, Nunez and Timber. But that might be wishful thinking on my part.
People underestimating how big of a loss Roman might be for Chelsea. He was a proper football man. Who knows what the new ownership is like.Well, if Chelsea want him he goes there.
We have Mctominay in our midfield. Sangare is surely a huge improvement.
Fabinho is a particularly painful oneAh yes, but there are that go the other way like Tielemans for example.
