6 fott 2, 198 lb striker who is in his prime at27 years old and he just finished the season with 43 goals and 7 assists yet nobody is talking about him. I don't get it. Instead he will stay at Fulham this year, score 20 goals and then everyone will be fighting to sign him for way more than he's worth...

He's one of those that isn't good enough for the Prem but is too good for the Championship.

The championship is below his level the PL is above his level, he’ll do nothing again this season, I’ve had this argument the last time Fulham was promoted I was right then and I’m right now.

All kinds of dross staying and playing in PL, claiming how he is not good enough to be in PL is fecking mental.

So is the Portuguese league but that doesn't stop us going for a player who clearly doesn't want to be here. Plus 43 goals is 43 goals no matter what league it is...

If you create the chances for him yeah he’ll score, but he won’t get that at Fulham next season. Also think he bottles it a little bit in the premier league and it’s very intense compared to other leagues.. and his lack of pace doesn’t help that either.

Very similar to Pukki.. in that he’s in between the two leagues. Would suit playing in Serie A or the Bundesliga.

He'll do well to get 10 goals.

Highly likely he'll get more yellow cards than goals.

All down to service, Fulham are not good enough to feed the lad at Prem level. Get a team to feed him, he will knock em back.

Well his first PL stint with Fulham is more indication of how poor he was, even that season Jokanovic got a sack, 2nd time he had falling out with Parker and all kinds of weird shit, so his playing time was on/off.

Either way, like i said with playing/staying thing, he is good enough to be part of PL at worst.

Pretty much flops every time he plays at the highest level, we’ll see if next season is any different. I expect it won’t be.
Depends also from Fulham or they gonna do same shit like last 2 times, but my comment was more aimed at him being good enough to be in PL, at worst bench warming, claiming that he isnt good enough even for that is just silly.

You’d think relegation battlers were chock full of 20 goal strikers or something they way people criticize Mitrovic. Only one bottom half club had someone score more than 12 last season and that was Zaha who was touted for big money moves.

Every other team has their top scorer at like 8-12 goals. He’s done that 2/3 seasons he’s been in the league and the time he didn’t he didn’t actually play regularly. If he isn’t good enough for the PL then over half the league isn’t going enough for the PL and that wouldn’t make any sense.

This is pretty much spot on. since 2015, when he signed for Newcastle, he has either been relegated from the Premniership or promoted from the Championship every season with Newcastle and now Fulham. No one in teams like that is going to putting away 20 plus goals a season, people seeem to forget this is a team sport and rate him purely on his own stats and output. He struggles in the premiership because the team he is in struggles at that level.

But 43 goals in 44 games even in the championship is a hell of an achievement and shows both he and Fulham were flying. It is also more than anyone else who has won top scorer in the championship for at least the last 30 years, if not longer. The closest I can find is Guy Whittingham with 42 in 1993.

I think he could be a sneaky good signing
After seeing Haller do well for Ajax I agree. If the plan is to have the ball and be camped in the other team's half anyways, Mitrovic being slow doesn't matter. And 43 in the Champo is absurd stuff. It's not a bad division anymore.

4 of his last 5 seasons have been good. Fulham was terrible the one year he didn't score, and he's got like 34 in 40 for Serbia over the last 5 years, which is even more impressive than setting the Champo record. Does anyone have as good a record over the last 5 years in UEFA? Looks like only Cristiano and Lukaku unless I'm missing someone.

Don't think Fulham will sell though, he has 4 years left and they'll go down without him.

Championship level is rubbish yet we get knocked out in the cups every year by teams from that division.

Get him in, could be our Eric.

In fairness to the player, they played a different way last time and hardly picked him as a starter

Saying he’s noT good enough for the PL is nonsense. You need to add some context and that is that the teams get was at were all relegation fodder. You don’t get 20 goal strikers playing for relegation fodder because of lack of chance creation

He's actually a very good striker tbh, and he also has a very respectable international record. He has the same playstyle/shithousery as someone like Diego Costa.

Probably because he's been the PL at least twice already and not done great things. I can see why teams would be reluctant.

A little context around the teams he’s played for though. For example last time the manager tries something different, hardly picked him

Yeah but look at the guy's last PL season. Got dropped to the bench for half of it despite being a 25+ goal striker in the Championship because even Fulham know he doesn't work in this league. The 3 goals he scored were:
  • A penalty (that could have been saved).
  • A 6-yard box header.
  • A one-on-one as a result of a terrible backpass by Mings.
Yes he's had an absolutely fantastic season in the Championship and maybe deserves the benefit of the doubt and one more try in the PL, but it's hard to say he should be garnering interest from bigger clubs when he's had an opportunity in the past to prove he can deal with the step-up in class and failed.

Will he feck  there is nothing to suggest this will happen. 21 goals in 104 Premier League games so far. So unless they’re extending the league to 100 games this year he would need to be 10x the player he once was.

Except Pukki has actually demonstrated he can be a pretty good striker in the PL.

He isn't a striker for a top team anyway even if his scoring in the PL previously was good enough.

He'll surprise a lot of people in the PL this year. He was always a terrific finisher but too static and lazy.

He is much improved from two years back, his mobility and his general involvement has gone up a lot. He'll score 12-15 goals this year
