This might be the most CONCACAF game ever.

1. horrible pitch
2. Horrible weather
3. Unpunished hacking of the more technical team
4. Dodgy goal
5. Players diving everwhere
6. Controversial red
7. Dustups everywhere
8. And another red

After the abomination that was the Minny qualifier I will never fault other federations for playing pitch/weather games, but holy feck that was brutal. The only takeaways from that game are:

1. Johnson is locked in as the 3rd keeper. Horvath? Woof.
2. Musah is a beast
3. Long looked decent
4. LDLT is fast becoming a favorite
5. Musah

Absolutely. That was all the worst of CONCACAF rolled into a single game.

I'll give Pulisic a shout out for not coming off the pitch injured, however he made that happen.

Canada and the US are being held back by constantly playing CONCACAF teams.

All friendlies need to be against European or South American teams or Nations League allow a few guests.

Both teams won't get better playing Caracau or Jamaica on death trap pitches.

I would add Mexico to that list as they are the regions traditional power and also think playing African teams is a great test as well.

Why doesn't Mexico and USA do like Australia and join CONMEBOL?
1. With one massive, glaring, painful, embarrassing, exception the reason is that CONCACAF provides a much easier path to the WC.
2. Already difficult travel would become exponentially worse.

I don’t think that solves the officiating problems. We would also give up the 15ft fences with armed security on the other side during the central American pitches!

1. OK, a good reason. South American qualifiers are tough and the home factor is huge.
2. Most South American Countries have excellent airports probably with a much better security index and very functional highways. It would be probably tougher to get to the Northeastern South American Countries due to geographical issues (or if Brasil decides they will face the USA in Manaus :D ).

But I think CONCACAF would do everything in their power to stop it from happening, just like they successfully pressured Mexican clubs out of south american competitions.

Refereeing quality would definitely improve. Also you would not miss those tough environments that much, you just need to play as a visitor in Argentina :D

Atlanta is my closest city, but I already have a “follow the US” fund and an agreement with my spouse to hit up at least 1-2 US games. May get down to ATL if the region is good.

ATL is closest for me but no chance i will go there....i hate driving in Atlanta and it's not the safest place either

Don't understand Houston being in there either. Would have made more sense for Nashville to be in the list.

Texas getting two sites is dumb. Denver would be far more interesting than Houston. I eagerly await all of the foreigners realizing how awful our public transit systems are and the fact that Gillette isn't in Boston and Levi's isn't near SF.

We can carpool to ATL since you'll be in NC.

I'll certainly maintain my Outlaws membership just in the hopes that it helps me get tickets. Anywhere on the east coast will be a definite yet for me if I can get tickets. I don't really want to go to Miami though.

Works for me. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am going to get to as many games as possible.

So excited for Atlanta! I was to young to really enjoy the Olympics in 96 so this will be a very exciting time. I hope I’m still living were I’m at l. I’m about 20-30 minutes depending on how late MARTA is running from the stadium. Also hoping season tickets holders for Atl Utd get a head start on tickets.

Hard Rock is a bit of a shithole & it’s far outside Miami proper.

I will be not be working the entire period. NE is home so I'm spoilt for choice from DC to Toronto. Depending on games elsewhere may be mobile.
