Reminds me of the story about Ashley Cole saying he almost swerved off the road when he found out Arsenal were only offering him £55k per week instead of the £60k he asked for.

The difference of course being that Ashley Cole was easily worth the money.
:lol:Yeah that was a classic tone deaf footballer moment. How players expect sympathy for such is slights is beyond me.

The cynic in me thinks that he purposely made himself a free agent right now, just so he could release this documentary, and pocket all the profit and not have to get the ok from any club to publish. Then after it is released, he will sign with a club.

Watched the first episode. It is abysmally made, all over the place with no logical narrative. Lazy, vacuous and deluded like the subject matter.

Randomly puts in a bit with him getting driven around giving food to 3 homeless people. You’d safely bet your mortgage that they did that just for the documentary.

Excuse me as I’m coming to this after the NBA finals but are the lot of you masochists? A few of the posters that hated the guy when he was here appear to have stayed up to watch & criticise

Mad thing is your clicks are giving the thing more momentum. Don’t do it to yourselves lads.

In 10-15 years Pogba wont be remembered anyways.

He is a very talented footballer who never got it out and believes he's world class

Chelsea (the saviours of football) fan.
He's gone and there are still two threads on him glued to the front page. I hope we move on, I really couldn't be arsed.
There's zero chance anyone moves on. The Danny Welbeck and Ravel Morrison threads still get regular arguments in them.

Pogba's various threads will have more posts next season than any current Man United player.

I hope he tells his side of story on Jose without any filters.

Raiola has convinced him that he's worldcalss irrespective of how he performs on the pitch. I still think, if Raiola was around , he'd made him take the city offer.

More than Ronaldo threads? I doubt it.

Pretty sure there were way more Ronaldo threads the past season than any season of Pogba threads.

I'm honestly tired of the "Ferguson tried his best to keep him" reply whenever someone says he was right about him. Ferguson knew he's a good player and would have liked to keep him. No one saying Ferguson thought he was shit so wanted him to leave. He knew has talent, but he thought he disrespected the club during the negotiation process and at the end had no problem with him leaving.

It seems like the whole "he tried his best to keep him" is based on Evra's story which is a nothing one. Again, Ferguson knew Pogba had talent and would of course like to have a talented player in his squad. His problem with him was his and his agent attitude during negotiation, which, guess what, is the same current problem.

And even though Ferguson knew Pogba had talent, he very clearly didn't thought he was ready to become a main starter for United in PL hence why he was barely even using him while United had a midfield crisis.

So yeah, Ferguson was still right about him, and people need to separate between evaluating him as a talented player and between his attitude during negotiations with the club which sucks.
SAF recognized talent, no doubt about that, but no matter how talented the player if he was likely to cause problems, or had a poor attitude then he was gone. The only player to buck this trend was Eric Cantona, a truly remarkable player who did truly remarkable things, but he never thought he was bigger than the club or the manager, had an incredible attitude regards training and had the utmost respect for Fergie and the Club. Ryan Giggs tells a wonderful anecdote about Fergie blasting him out about dress code when Eric walked in very casually dressed. Giggs pointed this out to Fergie who replied "Yes son, but thats class!" lol! Eric was treated differently but nobody minded or complained due to his importance to the team and club and his attitude to both them and the supporters who loved the man unreservedly and still do and will do long after Paul Pogba is forgotten.

He’s only making obvious what we had to assume all along.

The trash has been taken out. I only wish the club literally offered him nothing.

Don't be ridiculous. He's a World Cup winner and was unbelievable for France that year. He scored in the final.

Not true.

He will definitely be remembered though. You don’t have to be one of the world’s best players to be remembered for a very long time. And the whole PR/marketing machine around Pogba counts for a lot.

I don’t think Fergie necessarily had an issue with his attitude in training or as a person. I do think he realised there were big holes in Pogba’s game, especially when the opposition have the ball. That was why he didn’t want to fast track him into the first team. You’d think that might be an important lesson to Pogba. Evidently not.

He will be remembered. As an overrated showoff player he won the world cup because of his very good teammates. Just like Denilson.

He had 5 good to very good games out of the 8 or so in that campaign. He wasn't "unbelievable" in any one of them.

My memory of that tournament is a bit fuzzy but I remember him being great against Argentina and in the final against Croatia.

Either way he's going to be remembered.

For being good in any single season of football that didn't belong to a one horse league?

He will be remembered because he was one of the teams important players for winning. No need to underplay his involvements because you don’t like him

I hope he gets unfollowed by United fans on his social media accounts. That is the only way to hurt him. In fact there should be a boycott of sorts.

That's another myth that keeps on living.

He'll be remembered as a world cup winner who had a very good tournament (certainly not unbelievable) and as a footnote in United history. Unfortunately a footnote who stayed far too long.

I'm not underplaying shit. Saying he was "unbelievable" is just overcooked nonsense. I said he was good to very good. The first couple of games were actually slow for him and France in that campaign.

There's plenty of true facts to use against Pogba, I don't see why people need to make up stuff like he won't be remembered

We might as well say things like "his friends don't actually like him" and "he has a smelly cock"

To be fair I don't think the suggestion was that he'd fall into the abyss. The poster probably likely meant that in 10-15 years there will be a lot of other midfielders who are genuinely world class and would have achieved the same or more at club if not just national level.

Apart from us, no one at any point in his career has been willing to buy Pogba. He came through our ranks so there was a sentimentality factor but he’s never been valued anywhere near £90m to anyone else.

If he was as good as his marketing team pretends, he’d be playing for Real Madrid by now but they didn’t even want him for free.

His profile while being shit for us was higher than when he was doing well in Serie A. Being £90m and useless for Man Utd gets you more attention than being free and decent for Juve.

What does him winning the World Cup have to do with United?

He only won 2 trophies at United and both aren't really major ones. Nothing really to remember him with.

The first couple of games are slow for alot of teams. The competition comes alive in the knock outs and thats where Pogba excelled

Again, I said he had a few good to very good games in that campaign. He also happened to play for the best team on paper in a format that suits his game and that didn't extend for more than 8 games or so.
This is why he's good for France and not as consistent for clubs.

What are we even debating right now? That Pogba wasn't "unbelievable"? He wasn't. He was very good in a couple games, good on a couple others.

Or are we debating Pogba isnt going to be remembered? I never said that.

No Im saying there is no need to downplay his performance in the tournament, so I’ll move on now since we don’t agree
