Looks like Bayern have got great deal, 27.5 million + 7.5 million addons for player of his quality is a steal.

Was a matter of time after the Nunez deal. Glad he’s going, they’re far worse without his versatility and world class quality. Diaz etc. really need to step up if Salah has a dip in form again.

Wasn't one of the Liverpool fan offended by the mention of a similar offer?

Will he play as a false 9 like the 2nd half of this season? Or will Bayern bring in a proper 9 to replace Lewandowski? (Assuming he's off to Barca)

I rather have Mane than Nunez so they will be weaker this season.

If Diaz and Nunez develops under Klopp though it is possible they reach Mane levels.

Mane carried Liverpool a lot when Salah was taking his usual time off through the season.

This is great news.

Big shoes to fill.

Diaz will get some goals but he's been a clutch player for them.

Reports say Nagelsmann already talked with Mané about his position. Mané said he'll play where he is needed and Nagelsmann is told to plan with him as a false 9 but also as a winger and central behind a striker.

There are rumors we're still looking for a "real 9", but currently only Sasa Kalajdzic is heavily rumored.
Additionally Zirkzee will probably come back from his loan to Anderlecht.

If these 2 are the only options I'd guess that Mané will play as a 9 in most of the important matches.

They’ve been robbed. 30m in this market is an absolute steal for Mane he will be a huge loss for Liverpool.

Sensible from Klopp really. He's gambling that they can maintain their level with new signings, rather than have their stars age together.

It’s scary how efficient they are these days. Mane money spent before it comes in and all transfers done one week after the window opens. I hate them. I really really hate them.

He’s 30 years old and in the final year of his contract. He’ll likely start to decline within a couple of years. It’s a fair price.

Can't say I mind this. I don't think Nunez will get to Mane's level and they're out £70m on the two deals.

What a player he has been for us. Wish him all the best at Bayern.

Huge loss for Liverpool. There's going to be a significant quality dropoff with whoever will replace Mane in the starting XI.

30m is a bit of robbery imo. Maybe 10 years ago it’s fair but Hazard went for 100m with a year left on his contract.

Liverpool definitely weaker without him. Great price for Bayern overall too.

Fair deal for a 30 year old with one year left on contract. Cant imagine him playing at the same intensity going into his 30's week in week out for another couple of seasons.

Guy just made it to the champions league final and within two points of wining the premier league.
and he’s had good seasons, he hasn’t slumped.

i would say he’s proven himself and his injury record is fine

The most painful thing, for me, about this transfer is it offers little hope. Liverpool plucked Mane from Southampton. They've already brought in adequate replacements. Its become a bit of a conveyor belt, like how we used to be. Other teams were always waiting for Cantona to leave, Yorke and Cole to stop scoring, Van Nistlerooy to go, Ronaldo to go to Madrid. That's what we sound like celebrating Mane going. The truth is Liverpool have a system that works and when one piece isn't working they just go to the factory and get a piece to do the same job.

If Bayern can keep Lewandowski and Gnabry their offense looks scary.
Lewandowski, Mane, Sane, Coman, Gnabry, Müller

Of course but age catches up to everyone. Very few explosive wide players maintain a high level post, say, 32ish. Come to think of it Ronaldo is the only one I can think of.

Would have preferred to keep Lewandowski (I'm 99% sure he's gone, at this point), but well, at least that's a pretty exciting signing.

Makes all those memes about Bayern’s ridiculously low offers look pretty tragic when they’ve accepted one of them.

Mane is probably as good a replacement as one could hope for Bayern to sign in terms of individual quality, but as a fan I'd be a bit scared that Nagelsmann can't pull off the unorthodox striker setup.

Especially when Liverpool aren't a Buli club. Bayern are just often smart and target players with favorable contracts situations.
