Ajax Re-united

I can foresee a time a couple of years from now where United have 7 ex-Ajax players in their first team squad: De Ligt & Timber at centre back, Martinez as a CDM, De Jong, Van de Beek and Eriksen as midfield options, and Antony on the right wing. All of these players are quality players who thrive in a Ten Hag system. It wouldn't surprise me if he took Brobbey as a back up striker as well.

Although some will mock, the Ajax re-united approach, I think this provides a relatively low cost, low risk way of giving Ten Hag the right players to fit his system, and make us competitive in the short term.

Over time we can continue to pick up the most talented kids in world football, and allow Ten Hag to develop them into world class footballers. In some ways, because he has been at Ajax who are renowned for doing this, I think he will be better at bringing through the youngsters than Pep Guardiola, who does not have a great track record of promoting from the youth team. Promoting youth will allow us to compete financially against the state-backed teams for the one superstar per year we go head-to-head for, as they need to buy two ready made players for each position, whereas we just need to supplement the youth products. It should also create more harmony in the dressing room rather than brining in expensive signings with overinflated egos.

Not perfect but acceptable. We have players that Ten Hag can work and suit his system

The bare minimum.
DM, RW, CB, ST in that order

As much as I'd love for us to get DeJong, I don't think a CM is as much a pressing need as a DM. Fred is a decent player and can do a job if the front 4 can be creative and if he has a DM alongside him who can control the tempo of the game.
Sancho definitely deserves a run of games in the lineup, so we need another winger for the right side.
We cannot start Maguire, he'll be a bigger liability in a possession based team.
Ronaldo will be first choice but we'll have to manage his work load.

Realistically speaking it will be difficult to recruit more players in a single window.

Next window, we could target a CM and fullbacks. and suddenly we'll have pretty much replaced the entire 11.

By what we are reported to be in for, FDJ. Would be the top 1. Antony I would love to see he s the one that could be a OT fav. Pau Torres, Eriksson. Martinez. If we get 3 of those I'd be OK.

Martinez to play DM presumably if we had both him and Torres, however think it's unlikely

De Jong, Timber, Goncalo Inacio, Eriksen, Neves, Antony, Gnabry, Joao Felix. Obviously not going to happen but if we get 4 or these 8 I'd be delighted.
Think there is a real possibility of being able to get De Jong, Eriksen & Antony but hard to see any of the other 5 coming

Think you're right, mate. Unfortunately, those 3 alone won't be enough.
Could be enough to get us in top 4 but only IF some of the current squad are coached properly which hopefully leads to them finding form

Possible if we had City/Chelsea/PSG/Newcastle's finances but no bottomless pit here

My three biggest concerns are Erik being able to get a tune out of AWB/Dalot, finding that DM who would allow De Jong to fully flourish and someone to take the pressure off Ronny a bit. So dream window for me is

RB
De Jong
DM
RW
backup ST

I disagree. If we were savage in moving players on we could easily afford 6-8 players this summer.

Out

DDG 20m
AWB 20m
Dalot 10m
Bailly 10m
Jones 5m
Telles 15m
McTominay 20
Matic free
Pogba free
Mata free
Lingard free
Rashford 30m

£130m + jillions of wages off the books (would probably have to subsidize some obviously)

In

Pope 10m
Mazraoui free
N’Dicka 25m
Malacia 15m
FdJ 60m
Eriksen free
Antony 50m
CdK 20m

£180m (50m net spend) and a massive reduction in wages clearing paths for squad roles for youngsters like Laird, Garner and Mejbri etc.

Not easy but possible if we were ruthless.

Under the duvet, with a laptop.
Be nice if we got De Jong, Eriksen, Anthony and a defender or two wrapped up nice and early, then when everyone thinks we're done and is relatively happy, the club slap £80 - £90 million on the West Ham table and top the window off with Rice. Game on...

We should be realistically be able to make around 30m from players sales of Bailly, Williams, Tuanzebe, Pereira, Chong, Jones. That would make it 150m from the reported budget of 120m. I think this is the window we would have, looking at our targets and their reported prices we can get them for

De Jong - 70m
Martinez/Torres - 45m
Eriksen - free
Antony - 40m

Total - 155m

Ronaldo
Sancho Bruno Antony
De Jong Eriksen
Shaw Torres Varane Dalot

rehire Ralf Rangick and let him fix this mess of a club
He is the worst choice. A manager is not just about tactics, but how you manage your personnel. Rangick is good with players who can immediately follow instructions but with players who are reeling from mentality issues or taking more time, he just loses it. You can see from ETH's interview that he refuses to adopt Rangick's approach of shooting down the players and rather, have a objective assessment of the squad.

Ideally the midfield needs to be addressed. If we can get at least 2 central midfielders or 1 central midfielder and 1 defensive midfielder, the window will be great. Although i will be interested in Garner taking up the mantle, he needs an experienced player around him, so a central midfielder signing is certainly needed.

Lets at least try to be abit realistic:

De Jong 70m
Ebiowei 0m
Sangare 30m
Malacia 20m

Total: 120m

De Gea
Dalot Varane Maguire Malacia
Sangare De Jong
Ebiowei
Bruno Sancho
Ronaldo

Now don't give us fantasy like we will raise 40/60/70m from players sales. No one wants to buy our players. I repeat, no one wants to buy our players. Our best hope is to loan Henderson with option to buy for 20m. Hence, we only have 120m to spend this summer.

Also, Timber is already off, Eriksen would prefer Spur for sure. Antony will depends whether we are going to spend big on FDJ or not. And of course, FDJ won't come cheap, especially in a market where Tchouameni cost 80m+ and Nunez cost 100m.

But good news is, we can promote some of our promising youngster to the first team squad:

Garner - DM
Garnacho - LW
Meijbri - AM

So that will be like 7 new signings in total.

GK - De Gea
LB - Malacia, Shaw
CB - Varane, Maguire, Lindelof, Bailly
RB - Dalot, AWB
DM/CM - De Jong, Sangare, McFred, Garner
AM - Bruno, VDB, Mejbri
LW - Ebiowei, Elanga, Diallo
RW - Sancho, Garnacho, Rashford
FW - Ronaldo, Martial

The perfect transfer window would also involve shipping out Rashford, and expeditiously.

He's another toxic character who brings nothing to the squad, and is constantly briefing the media according to his own agenda.

I really like this team, however with Europa league and a more condensed schedule because of the World Cup we need a squad of 26/27 and need rotation for Thursday night Sunday football. We have 16 PL games, 6 Europa League, 2 or 3 League cup before the World Cup commences on 18th November and the 5 sub rule was brought in for exactly this to freshen things up so the PL will become even more of a squad based game this season.

Reserve team
Daniel Bachmann or T Heaton (£5M)
A Teles
H Maguire
V Lindelof
A Tuanzebe at RB utility cover CDM CB
J Garner
S Mctominay
Fred or Hanibal
Ganaucho or A Martial
M Rashford or A Martial
A Elanga or A Dialo

I Can see a lot of this lot playing for their career or being moved on in winter or summer transfer window, basically we will try and play them into form and sell most.
F Pellistri, T Mengdi, D Henderson, T Chong and maybe A Dialo and Garner going on loan.

We will try and sell A Pereira, P Jones, E Baily, A Martial, B Williams, AWB but maybe sell 4 at most and get a maximum of £25-30M for AWB, Eric Bailly, A Pereira and B Williams.
I think Axel, Hanibal, Ganaucho will get a chance under ETH and if Axel stays , keeps fit , he might finally become what we all thought a few years ago.

I actually quite like this. I think it would be one of Bruno/Eriksen in the cam position and one of Mcfred in cm with fdj.

I think it would be decent window, though. New striker and DM next summer!

Somewhere in your mind, touching a nerve
De Jong - 65m
Eriksen - Free
Antony - 40m
Malacia - 20m
Ndicka - 30m

4-3-3:
Sancho-------Ronaldo-------Antony
-------Bruno--De Jong--Eriksen-----
Shaw----Ndicka----Varane----Laird
-------------------DDG------------------------

Although I'm not sure how balanced that midfield is. It's very technical but maybe not enough graft - although I thought the same about the Scholes-Carrick midfield and look how that turned out.

Subs:
GK
Maguire
Malacia
Fred
Garner
Donny
McT
Rashford
Garnacho

That midfield is way too imbalanced. Without a proper DM we would get torn apart. I think Eriksen will rotate in a front 3 and no.10 role from Bruno. In regards to the latter, he might end up being more effective than Bruno in that role. I think a better pairing will be De Jong and Fred and if he's ready, De Jong and Garner. Hopefully though we are in the market for an experienced DM.

Not going to bother with names but I'll say positions and whether they should be starters.

Bare Minimum for me is:
CM (Replace Pogba and Bench Fred)
DM ( Replace Matic and Bench McTominay?
Attacker (Replace Greenwood)
RB (Replace Dalot and AWB)

If we have ambition we should also get:
CB (Can be young if full of potential)
Backup LB (Replace Telles)

Sadly we will do less than half this business and everyone will be shocked when we are still shite.

An important thing to remember to the people who say the above is unrealistic is look at our competition. Look at how they use transfer windows. Look how few players they have leaving. And also look at the fact most of our competition strengthened well in January.
