The Bruno bashing comes almost exclusively from the same few Pogba fanboys (yeah, I don't understand either).

Make of that what you will.

Yeah it's insane. Can't work it out, carried us for so long, also think his apparent downturn was massive overplayed as well.

Assume you mean Konate. Oddly Chelsea have been talking about Kounde for over 12 months so it’s not just at United these things can happen.
No, I meant Koundé. For the exact reason you pointed out.

Anthony brings that little extra to the field.
He will do anything to win. From score a goal to fake an injury to win time.
He has got a great technique. Is a dribbler but also a one touch player.

This is Manchester United..

Van de Beek is the only deal in the last few years I can remember getting done within a week or two of the first serious links.

I envy that Liverpool and Chelsea for example seem to sign players within days of the first big talk of it happening, Nunez the most recent example
Chelsea haven’t been that efficient for a while.

They need an even bigger overhaul and still haven’t signed anyone.

At this stage the simplest and easiest thing to do is rename Ajax, Manchester United.

Highly doubt that it was "pogba fanboys" the only ones criticising Bruno. By every measurement whether its stats or the eye test he quite clearly had a terrible season when compared to his first year here and an okay to bad season in general. Nothing wrong in saying that.

Well I'm very happy with the targets that ETH is looking at. Hungry and ambitious talent that will be examples for our rabble to follow.

Still unsure why fdj has to be done for us to then focus on Antony? If the fdj thread is anything to go by, there's about 10 million difference....if we just pay Barca then what? No Antony? Surely our discussions for Antony already include scenarios of paying full price for fdj?

I have to say with all the talk about our new scouting/dof/recruitment setup Im a little disappointed that next season we could be lining up with as many as 3 or 4 Ajax players. I trust the manager to improve us but I’m becoming wary of what the actual plan is.

You shouldn't be disappointed because the plan should be clearer in the next summer window. And that's because the two chief scouts have gone and along with them their work, which would've been collated/compiled for the current window. Dominic Jordan has also just started his role in March this year to lead the data analytics department, which will also hopefully contribute to both our on the pitch performance and to back-up the scouting of players.

Said this ages ago myself. Why don't we just figure out our max price for FdJ, or asking price, and spend the remaining budget on the next targets in the meantime? Even if we don't spend all if the remaining money till it's done, at least get one or two of the other targets. Then once FdJ is done, see if we have the money for 3rd/4th/5th targets. Just seems common sense, particularly if our 2nd target is an easier negotiation.

The scouting dept were sacked before the window. The recommendations of the club were the likes of Phillips, Rice, Torres and apparently Erik wasn’t keen. It makes sense that ETH wants players he has a working knowledge of, even if it’s a bit uninspiring for us.

It could even strengthen our negotiating position for FDJ if we start spending our money on other players and Barca see the budget draining away.

Yeah, seems too obvious that. Especially given Barca are likely to remain in fantasy land until it comes time to start actually registering these players they've signed.

Must be waiting for a big transfer to take a bunch of money off us so we can play the pauper in future negotiations. Or it's all bollocks, who knows!

I get Depay vibes from Anthony. Please someone calm my fears.
Looks like a bit of a showman type player who rarely goes on the outside of his man. Would need a very good attacking fullback for that to work and he might be a bit predictable for the PL, but he’s young.

we’re going to end up paying the £72m, might get £68 + guaranteed add ons by waiting until late next week.

I feel like Custis had some pretty big scoops for us recently but I just can't remember what they were
He did break the Lukaku deal which appeared to come out of nowhere seeing as we were being linked to Morata so much. Although, not sure that's as recent as you were referring to.

Depay is a hip hop "star". This guy is a prick who will do anything for the win. Enough?
I think the major difference I take from say Depay, or any other of these players like Ziyech/Neres, etc is that when you see how Ten Hag intends to set up (assuming he wants to go the Ajax/Pep route), is for players to have flexibility during the match to change formation. Depay was good at dribbling and goalscoring, but had little pace, and scored a fair number of free kicks. Thus when he came to the PL he looked garbage up against quicker/better players. Similarly Ziyech and Neres had a similar way of playing, and belong to a prior era of ETH where he used them differently, they were used as inverted wingers that relied on effectively playing around Belhuis(?) I think who was playing as a false 9.

Antony is actually incredibly hard working, he can be frustrating at times from the all touch clips (a bit nani like in that sense), but its the shifts he puts in when in defense and transition. He also holds possession really well, and draws a lot of fouls. He is also pretty clever tactically and obviously understands his role in the setup ETH wants, transitioning easily between RW and RM. So he is nothing like Depay in that sense.

I will also say that Ajax in attack look terrible at times, a few of the games I have watched the amount of chances created for Haller, etc, that are not put away I would expect Ronaldo/Fernandes/Sancho to do better from.

Yeah, Bruno doing well seemed to offend Pogba fans who then scrambled for reasons for why actually he wasnt doing well. Our fanbase is hopelessly divided.

He looks very like a left footed Rashford to me, probably not quite as good if anything. Can beat a man with pace and a trick but not a great technician or build up player like you see at City. I know we need a left footed right winger but the figures quoted of over £50m seem steep to me.

Who should we sign on RW then, can't see us getting Raphinha and see Dembele to Chelsea.

I thougth about that, but Im not sure Eriksen fully fits that to be honest.. I think he is too good in the final phase of the game... Schone mainly complemented Frenkie as he was always sitting tight in the central area behind the ball when Ajax was attacking. I think Eriksen could do that but it would be a waste of his qualities...
Cheers. You make valid points

These Ajax players as you call them have been playing better football than our current squad. Just saying...
