Jovic - Fiorentina, very close.

Key meeting today in Florence. Everything is on the way to a transfer agreement. Good harmony between the three parties.

It would be Madrid's fourth departure after Bale, Isco and Marcelo.

Witsel-Atlético: done. RTBF Sport has already said it and we confirmed it. Witsel was not closed by OM because the player had to think it over. The red and white option had been on the table for weeks. Everything has accelerated these days.
Witsel has already made his choice and wants to play for Atlético.
  • He arrives free from Borussia and will sign for one season plus an optional one.
  • Marseille considers him out of their hands.

Who knows, but there’s a real dearth of quality young strikers. But he has it. I doubt we could finance a deal this summer, although with these sorts of clubs, we could possibly do a loan with obligation if we wanted him. Which I have no idea if we do.
He’s more of a support striker isn’t he? He’ll be fine but we have a surplus of players who feature in that role.

He can be anything. I see him as a central striker in the contemporary sense of the word. Think he has 20+ goals in him. I see him developing similarly to what Kane has been in recent seasons. A ‘support’ striker but not necessarily to a 9, but to a 7 and 11.

Sounds right, definitely a big game player though. Chelsea might snap him up as they have a hole there with Lukaku off.

More from that interview:
Have you found an agreement with Nice for Christophe Galtier?
No, not yet. We have a shortlist of coaches, we’re in talks with Nice, it’s no secret. I hope we’ll reach an agreement soon but I respect Nice and their president [Jean-Pierre] Rivère, everyone is defending their own interests.

Why did ZInédine Zidane not want to join Paris?
I love Zidane, he was an amazing player, with incredible class. Also an exceptional manager with three Champions League titles. But I will tell you one thing: we have never spoken with him, neither directly nor indirectly. Many clubs are interested in him, national teams as well, but we have never spoken to him.

`When you say “we”, does that include people over in Qatar?
When I say “we” I mean PSG. I am the president of PSG and I have never spoken to him.

So PSG have never spoken to one of the best managers in the world, who is French, and most of all free?
We chose another option. We’ve gone for a manager who will be the best for what we want to put into place.

The supporters had dreamt of Zidane and now find themselves with Galtier. Are you not scared that they will upset?
Dreaming is one thing, reality is another. Maybe we should also change our slogan [Dream Bigger], it’s good but these days we have to be realistic more than anything. We don’t want to be flashy or bling bling anymore, it’s the end of the glitter. We’ve done some great things in the last eleven years, but every year we have to ask ourselves how we can progress, how we can get better.

Al-Khelaifi also held an interview with Marca:

Key highlight:

The other relevant parts of the interview:
Can Pochettino's time at the club be considered over?
We can't talk about that yet, we will do it at the right time, not now.

Is Galtier the favourite and has Zidane ever been an option?
About Zidane I want to say something important, he is a person I liked a lot as a player and I like him as a coach, I love him.

But we have never spoken to him, directly or indirectly, and I respect him a lot and I appreciate him a lot. A lot of things have come out in the press but we have never spoken to him.

Mbappe's decision has been widely criticised in Spain, can you give your side of the story and the reasons for his choice?
I have great respect for Real Madrid as a club, they're a great club, but Kylian has never decided to renew for the money, that's the first thing. Madrid's offer was better than ours. He is our player and he had other clubs in England as well as Madrid, but he chose PSG and we didn't talk to him or his family about money until the last moment. Kylian was above all interested in the project, in football and sport. He is Parisian, he is French, and he wanted to stay here to represent his city and his country, his club, and it is not fair what has been said about him. For them, money is not the most important thing, they want to win and they want a sporting project.

According to Florentino Perez, the player changed his mind ten days before. When did you think Kylian was going to renew?
I don't know what Madrid says, whether it was days or months ago. I know 18 months ago that Mbappe wanted to stay. I heard that Madrid said he wanted to play for Madrid, but it wasn't true. We are talking now about Madrid's latest offer, but in the summer they made an offer of 170 and 180 million [euros]. That means that Madrid's offer, plus his salary, was already better than ours, as it is now. I turned down 180 [million euros] and they told me I was crazy, people I trusted, because he could leave for free, but I did it because I was sure Kylian was going to stay because I know him and his family well, I know what he wants. Kylian is very serious, professional, and he wants to play and win, he doesn't care about money. I understand that Madrid are disappointed, but it's not fair to say that about Mbappe.

Could Mbappe's new contract jeopardise PSG's Financial Fair Play?
Every year, every summer, it's the same thing. He says we don't respect the Fair Play, we don't respect the others? We know what we can do, who we can sign, we know better than him what we can do and nobody has to tell us what to do. We don't have to be told by someone from outside what we can or cannot do. If we do it, it's because we can. Look at the case of Messi. It was the same, they said it was financially impossible and we have made money with Messi. He has no idea and he should focus on his league because LaLiga is a bit dead.

Does the arrival of Luis Campos as football advisor have anything to do with Mbappe's renewal?
I also want to make it clear that Mbappe has never interfered in sporting decisions, not about the coach, the players or anything else. What he wants is to win and it's true that he has given his opinion on the project because he wants to win, but he doesn't go into that afterwards. What he wants is just to play. If he tells us something it's because he thinks it's the best thing for the club, but he never gets involved in the planning.

What can Luis Campos contribute?
He has a clear objective, different from other objectives in the market. Young people, talented, involved and with a winning mentality and people who want to die for this badge. We want to be stronger collectively, that the players play more for each other, play as a team and with the club above all. The club will be the most important thing.

Is Neymar part of the new project?
We can't talk about these issues in the media, some will come and some will go, but these are private negotiations.

Official: Bryan Reynolds goes on loan to KVC Westerlo from Roma

@Zaphod2319 @WI_Red @bosskeano He is in dire need of regular minutes, and he won't get that under Mourinho. This loan should be good for him to earn a World Cup spot.
he's too young and inexperienced to be sitting on the bench not playing. It's a good move to get games but not the biggest of clubs or league

Not sure if this guy is legit but seems that Minamino is off to Monaco for 15 million EUR. Paid in five installments which is odd.

Translation: Info: Agreement found between #Monaco and #Liverpool for Takumi Minamino . Price: 15M € . • Paid in 5 instalments.

This report is originally from Sébastien Denis, and it has been corroborated by both Loïc Tanzi and Fabrizio Romano. Both Denis and Aouna are quite speculative, but they get a few scoops right from time to time.

It is a really good move for him to advance his minutes. Unless there are injuries, I think GB knows who he is going to have playing. I doubt anyone will agree with all of his picks.

Also:
  • Fiorentina are interested in Torino's (and former Manchester United youth goalkeeper) Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
  • Galatasaray have enquired to Arsenal about Lucas Torreira.

This makes more sense. I have no idea how they were supposed to fit Lukaku, Lautaro and Dybala into a front 2. Lautaro doesn’t want to leave, and their front 2 has been a big man-little man combo, so Dybala is the odd one out. They never needed him and I’d be surprised if this transfer is revived.

It's now Ernesto Valverde's turn to be linked back to Bilbao.
The candidacies of Ricardo Barkala and Jon Uriarte have announced that Ernesto Valverde will be their coach should they win the Athletic Club elections.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan
I can't see the players being happy about getting priced out of a move away. Surly they'll want to test themselves in a higher league regardless if that's England, Spain, Italy or Germany. I wonder if a few toys will be thrown out of the pram.

Toni Juanmartí explained it yesterday in Relevo: Barça thought that Bayern's position would soften a lot and instead the signs are still rigid. Some opening but not definitive. The thing: Lewa will do everything he can to go to Barça, but the Germans are not giving in for now.
The quoted thread:
Uneasiness with Lewandowski at FCB. Bayern didn't even respond to the first offer, will they do so with the second?

Despite Mané, Bayern remains firm (today) and tells RL9 that they are counting on him. The Pole only wants FCB, who are still hopeful that the situation will change.

The situation is not favourable at the moment, but there is still summer ahead and Barça will try by land, sea and air to get Lewandowski.

It is a priority and other alternative strategies are being considered to tackle the operation (if it remains stuck as the days go by).
