Chasing him or linked to him. Very different, I'm not sure how real or deep our interest actually was.
Entirely possible he was an alternative if Antony proved to be unattainable. Hopefully this means that Antony is attainable and about to be bought.

He probably got much better assurances of first team football. He can join us in 4 years for £80m instead…

No worries if he’s any good we’ll bid £60m in a couple of years time.

Did we lose out to Palace? Probably a good move for him in his development.
Based on the Romano and Shrager Tweets from a week ago, we most likely did. With that said, there's no way we'd guarantee as many first-team minutes as Palace would. This reminds me of the Aaron Ramsey transfer that didn't work out because Arsenal guaranteed him first-team minutes.

It feels like we are stuck in purgatory where top clubs players won’t join us because we are shite. Mid table clubs players won’t join because it’s a side step move and bottom clubs players won’t join us because of development. Where is our existence ?

[Sami Mokbel] Manchester United and Chelsea both want ex-Liverpool transfer guru Michael Edwards - who brought Van Dijk, Salah and Mane to Anfield - as Premier League giants battle to land him.

If he wants to get back to business so soon after leaving Liverpool, we will get him ahead of Chelsea.

From here to there
I consider myself reasonably sane when it comes to transfers. But even I'm raising an eyebrow at the lack of at least one new player coming in by now.

On the other hand, if Ten Hag thinks he can rejuvenate the rag tag bunch of misfits in the current squad, who am I to tell him he can't try that first. Sure they'll likely undermine him, leak stories to the press and try to get him sacked around November, but it's his decision ;)

Where did i say that?
I just think everyone is losing their shit too early.
And I dont blame them. When you witness similar patterns of incompetence for a decade, its easy to see why the fanbase is frustrated.

The people in charge have proven feck all and have overseen utd's worst premier league campaign making mistakes after mistakes(not sacking Ole when needed, appointing Ralf only to not back him and then sack him later). It's difficult to get optimistic about the next season when you have the same dogshit players representing the club.

Yep fully expect to see him at Chelsea.
Mark Ogden at ESPN is saying that Boehly is working with him to take time off and then take over the recruiting at Chelsea when he is ready. I have no idea how reliable that source is?

Exactly, you need to give them a chance

what went on before was (hopefully) different times. There are signs that the club wants to do things differently.

why don’t you all give it a rest till the window is shut.

Surely if you expect it there’s no need for the hysterics we see in here each and every day

Oh yeah the good old "everything is fine" comment.
Yea and we finished 6th with a 0 goal difference and now have a weaker squad. But all is well and as the days and weeks go by we shld grow up and chill cus there's plenty of time left and are met with laugh smileys galore

Arguably weaker squad I’d say. Pogba, Cavani, Mata, Lingard, Matic etc didn’t really bring much to the party last season.

Clearing out some of the toxicity can lead to a greater collective. It’s not impossible that next season through better coaching and more togetherness could see a significant improvement.
