Every player who doesn't play for united is better than every player who plays for united.

I think it is unfair to compare the two, as they are different types of players. Eriksen is a better playmaker, and better at reading the game both with and without the ball. Also, his set-pieces are world class. Bruno is better as a direct attacking threat.

I think it would we wise to bring in Eriksen at no. 10 that can help us build up play, while Bruno are used as a LW where he can drift inside and create chances, without loosing the ball in dangerous positions.

If Eriksen hits and hopes as much as Bruno does, his numbers would dwarf Bruno's. He has been a completely different level of talent to Bruno at every stage of their careers. Bruno has lucked into an absurd number of penalties in the last few years which inflates his numbers. How much was he rated before this?

Their productivity as attacking midfielders are more than good enough respectively, but as footballers, Eriksen has always been better. He could do everything Bruno could with much more control. Take out penalties, and Eriksen's career numbers betters Bruno's, and numbers are only ever Bruno's argument.

In the No. 10 role it depends on the type of football you want to play:
Counter attacks I would go with Bruno.
Possession football I would go with Eriksen.
Playing like a 2nd striker or similar I would choose Bruno
Playing with 2 No 8 (and without a 10) I would choose Eriksen.
Eriksen has shown he can work through a bad spell and get back to level without going to the press. Bruno is younger and now has to prove he can do the same.

fecking hell Eriksen doesn’t half get overrated on here. He isn’t anywhere near the player he was in 2018, and he fell of a cliff big time then.
Exactly. Eriksen was better till 2018 after that he was on a massive decline, even at Inter he wasn't at his best .

Before 2018/19, it's Eriksen, post 2019 it's Bruno.

Today I don't know but at the same stage of their careers I would say Eriksen. Eriksen is a better technician, tactician and today the question is about his athleticism. To some extent I would say that Bruno is a sort of Dele Alli and I don't know if he is better than the better version of Alli.

Thinking about them both at their best, I'd take Eriksen (~2017) but they're different players really. Beyond the odd nice pass, Bruno does all of his damage almost exclusively in the final third. Eriksen is a lot better at controlling the tempo of the game from midfield but can still do just as much damage in the final third.

I don't think there's any shame in that though. Beyond Silva, Eriksen was probably the best #10 in the league in the 2010s.

Bruno is at the age now as the start of Eriksen’s very sharp decline. Eriksen before that yeah, he was pretty great, but he’s not been at that level for 4 years, what’s to suggest he’s capable of getting back there?

Don’t get the Bruno and Alli comparison. The latter was an off the ball runner and good finisher but on the ball was mediocre at best. Bruno is high risk and erratic on the ball but is capable of brilliance that few others could execute, a bit like Rooney.

Apparently if you kick and hope you can.
People will drool over played like Trent’s numbers but Bruno’s is just as impressive. It’s shocking how vilified Bruno has become on here, it really is.

KdB is the best 10 in the league, after that David Silva.

Also don't think many teams played with 10s, so don't think competition is that high. During Spurs' best run, Alli played as 10, Eriksen as playmaking RW. Have to check the seasons again, at least that's how I remember.

Eriksens body has given up since the player he was at spurs, so no real point referencing that player. Fyi I don't say that because of his health issues, that was consensus before he moved to inter even.

I still think he would be a coup for us on a 1 year contract, he can play a number of positions but he is more Mata than Bruno

Apples and oranges. Both part of the same fruit salad but makes no sense comparing them

Who copied who? Expected someone to make this retort and not surprised to see it. It's a pretty easy one. Eriksen is one player who has as much ability to put up much better numbers if every footballer in the world had Fernandes' mentality. Eriksen's career numbers are as good anyway for what it's worth.

I hope Eriksen and De Jong joins. Plenty of Manchester United fans seem to have forgotten what midfielders in football play like.

Eriksen might be better player, Eriksen might be creating more chances with his willy than Bruno creating chances with this strongest foot. Doesn't change "kick and hope" nonsense.

Eriksen's numbers were fantastic for years, hit more than 10 assists in the league 4 seasons running.

People act like Bruno has been dominating the league for years, he had one very good year and then followed it with an appalling one. The jury is still out if he can function in a team where he isn't the focal point of attack.

Different players. Bruno is such an enigma - one thing that is for sure if Eriksen is a lot more consistent and will lose the ball less though.

Everyone really is scarred by last season huh?

Eriksen's form at the tail end of his time at Spurs was just as bad, and those claiming his set pieces are world class etc, I remember quite clearly Spurs fans bemoaning his corners and free kicks for a long while before he left. He has not been as consistent as many are making out, although undoubtedly a very good player.

Bruno being 'better these days' looks like one and half seasons with us and another one and half in Portugal in a three-year period he converted 34 penalties to Eriksen's 0 penalties in his last days at Spurs, and in a period he was trying to find his feet in a title winning team.

The day fans look beyond the sheer number of penalties Bruno has been privileged to stand behind, combined with his glaring weakness with the ball is when the hype goes out the window. Without the penalties, his numbers are still very good, but nowhere near good enough to ignore the negative values he offers in possession.

I think its unfair to judge any of our players on last season. A dysfunctional team within a dysfunctional club. Prior to that Bruno was one of the best players in the league. He hasn't lost that ability.

As for the comparison, different types of player. It depends what you like in a footballer.

Bruno is the better chance creator & playmaker, Eriksen has better technique and is better in possession, but as of now, Bruno is by far the better option for Manchester United.

Eriksen has never been at the level of peak Bruno
Considering that goals and assists are only ever Bruno's argument, in his best four consecutive league seasons, he returned 0.68 non-penalty goals or assists. Eriksen in his best four consecutive league seasons returned 0.60 non-penalty goals and assists every 90 minutes. That's an extra 3 goal involvement in a 38 game season. Basically the same level, and the first of Bruno's four was in Eriksen's third season.

Bruno's 'peak' that gets shoved down our throats everyday was literally the period he got to convert 34 penalties in three years. Look beyond the sheer number of penalties Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United won during that period, and Bruno has no argument against Christian Eriksen as a midfielder.

Better at football as in all round game? Eriksen.

Better at winning games and putting up insane numbers, Bruno has the highest potential in the squad for that.

Bruno is a very good player but he doesn't put insane numbers and he hasn't shown that he is better at winning games.
