Mane won't be a big miss for the cups but his firepower over the course of a full season will be a huge miss, which I feel will be unlikely for Nunez to replace right away.
The main reason they could compete with Peps league machinery is that they had Salah and Mane replacing each other flawlessly when one was underperforming for a certain period. Additionally I still feel their depth can't compete with City, especially their defence and midfield is lacking options.

As for quadruple talks, I fully expect Klopp to throw League und FA cup like he used to do, them winning both last season was more a result of easy fixtures and B/C teams winning their games rather than specific focus. Now that he has bagged them I doubt he'll give a shit and solely focus on PL and CL.

Yep agree with that. We definitely don't have enough to go for another quadruple attempt and not just because of Mane leaving.

Not that we were thinking of going for a quadruple at the start of last season. It's like a televised 147, once you pot enough blacks in a row because the table is nicely laid out suddenly it becomes 'on' and you've got no choice but to go for it or the crowd will boo you.

Their defence is arguably more balanced now that they've added proper RB cover with Ramsay. VVD, Matip & Konaté is a great CB rotation, Robertson/Tsimikas, TAA/Ramsay, plus Gomez. Better keeper, too. Compared to City with their 2.5 fullbacks, who had to resort to playing Aké at LB and Stones at RB far too often.

Midfield, I agree. They need some quality from the bench & the likes of Ox, Jones & 36-year-old Milner are hardly it. Maybe the youngsters will freshen it up, but I can see them filling in across the front three as well.

If City lose Sterling, Silva and having already lost Fernidinio . City not looking as strong in Midfield either.

Met a couple of scousers in the pub giving it large the other day.

Scouser 1, “I don’t think Klopp will go for the quadruple this season”

Scouser 2, “yeah, I think your right. Last season was awersome though. I Will never forget it.”

Then i said, “guys you do realise you never fecking won it last season!”

Some of them are deluded. They actually talk like they won the quadruple!

The comedy is that most years he throws the minor cups in preference of the bigger 2.
The year he wins the minor 2 it leaves them more knackered for the bigger 2.

Lovely.

I see there's still no mention of Jurgen Norbert Klopp who has now equalled the record of Marcello Lippi for the number of Champs League Final defeats, having lost 3 out of 4. He also lost in the final of the Europa League which makes him the manager that's lost the most European Finals. Klopp is the biggest bottler and failure in the history of European competition.

There's a chance they'll win the quadruple next year, but then again a chance they won't
I give them like 20% chance to win the league. CL 10%, League cup 20%, Fa cup 20%.

Then again if they gain momentum they can win it all.

City though got like 60% chance to win the league, CL 20%, Leauge cup 35%, Fa cup 25%.

The bookies give roughly these odds just they rate Liverpool higher in CL, but I think Mane will be a big loss in the big games.
Also I rate Real Madrid higher than the bookies.

Quite a well known story although I thought that both Bellamy and Riise wanted to sing the same song and had a falling out.

Bellamy always had more bark than bite.

I am so glad, and proud, I didn't get a Twitter account. Paying off now.
It's become increasingly worse over the last year or so. The algorithm has changed, so if I happen across some right wing nutjob, my timeline then becomes like the third Reich for the next week.

It's the same after the Liverpool game last week, I looked at one tweet from an LFC account and now anything scouser related is all over it.
Much the same way YouTube does.
I never got a Facebook account for that reason, now it's more Facebook than Facebook.

As a Liverpool fan, what’s your thoughts on Liverpools style of play this season? Do you think Salah and Nunez as a combo can work?

I’m intrigued to see how it plays out. There’s no doubt Liverpool can create plenty of chances for Nunez or Salah to get a shed load of goals but I’m not sure they can set up where it works for them both in tandem.

Nunez will score a shed load of it’s all crossing focussed football. But then Salah would suffer. Salah seems to play best when he can play in a fluid front 3. Be interesting to see how it develops.

Twitter is what twitter does.
For every sensible tweet I send, I have about 99 just winding people up. I find it quite relaxing and as long as your not being any of the ....ists, what is the harm.

My wife used to make me watch X factor and I spent my time tweeting nonsense. I once made a tweet about the one direction judge and it went viral. Thousands of likes. People genuinely thought I was Harry Styles using a fake ac.
I mention this to show that Twitter is mostly full of COMPLETE NUTTERS.

I spend most of my time on twitter insulting Gbeebies presenters and Nigel Farage as well as occasional row with the gammonry.

Sorry but I've really not had time to check out our new team. Not watched any games or reviewed any change in tactics yet. Not had time to recover from last season yet.

I'll be going into this season blind but as long as Klopp is there I'm pretty sure things will work out. Nunez becoming a big flop is a little nerving but that adds to the excitement.

Tbh I’ve seen enough of Nunez to see that he’ll get plenty of goals if he plays his normal game. He’s got attributes that will get him in the right places. There will also be times where he looks clumsy.

It will all come down to how strong he is mentally. Whether he lets the price tag bother him and whether he lets the moments which let him down get to him. He’ll probably be similar to Andy Cole in his first year at Utd where he was under loads of pressure to perform. He would miss plenty of opportunities but also score plenty. Eventually he got himself going.

Think the next 2 friendly games will be more "Illuminating" in terms of Liverpools playing style for the upcoming season.

I would expect Klopp to start playing his starting 11 together for the charity shield game (I know he doesn't really care about it) in 9 days.

Think that the opponents (Leipzig and Salzburg) are semi perfect for preseason for Liverpool and if I was a Liverpool fan and Nunez doesn't look a little more "comfortable" or effective I'd be pretty convinced that he won't be a starter in the short term (which maybe adds some additional pressure).

Realistically their high line / pressure and suicidal tendancy (at times) to play out from the back should present him with chances and I'd be surprised if he doesn't take a couple.

Does anyone know how far behind Germany are from the UK for pre season? Wouldn't be surprised if both German clubs are only half cooked.

The German team just had their first preseason game last week, the Austrian team will play you after the first game of their regular season so will be full match fit.

City are putting a lot of eggs in the Haaland basket, and he's very injury prone. Losing Sterling and Silva will be big losses, and they've signed a dodgy English midfielder to replace a great.

Liverpool losing Mane will cost them plenty of points.

The door is open for us to challenge this season.

They've done okay the last 2 seasons without him.

No problem mate, I was surprised how advanced Salzburg were into preseason already myself.

Good test for you guys.
