Nah. I'd take Lukakus 1 year at Chelsea over Pogbas 6 at Man United, no hesitation whatsoever.

Lukaku isn't even Chelsea's worst signing. He's our most expensive flop for sure but Kepa had much more of a negative impact on the team and also cost a boatload. Sheva and Torres also stuck around for ages dragging the team down.
Pogba joined a very poor United side who didn't even quality for the CL, Lukaku joined a CL winner team.

People get mad a Pogba because they expected him to carry a very poor United side who has been badly coached for 10 years, and he never did.
And United has been the poorest team Pogba has ever played for in his career until now, France NT and Juventus with Marchisio,Pirlo,Vidal, Chiellini,Bonucci,Buffon,Cuadrado, etc are better teams than United from 2013 till now.
Plus he had a shit attitude.

Underperforming in a very good team will always be worse than underperforming in very poor side.

I dunno I'll give you Cech but a good keeper is one that's there for ages IMO not only a few seasons like Courtois was and Mendy I still feel could be improved (don't get me wrong he's been good)
Surely we deserve some credit for spotting Courtois when he was at Genk in Belgium though, given that he's now indisputably a top 3-5 GK in world football (and was pushing that level during his latter years at Chelsea). If anything that should be a bonus for our scouting team which generally has a very decent track record of signing goalkeepers?

So 10m x 2 in loan fees and then 30m transfer fee? He’ll be 31 by then. Recouping half of the initial fee from this low leverage position would be great.

€8m x 2. About £6.8m x 2.
Well I’m hoping he does well enough to trigger the €4m add-ons - €12m = £10m.

I’m talking best case scenario here. I know the fees could be lower and I know there’s a chance no one wants to buy Lukaku at £30m in 2024.

That’s one (really bad) dud. Cech, Courtois, Mendy. Even some of our backup keepers have been very solid like Begovic and Willy Cabballero.
Are we talking just Roman era? If not, Cudicini for 160k is right up there, was superb for prior to Cech joining.

One of the worst big game strikers of all time.

Maybe the worst.

Whenever it's an important match and you need him to step up he never does.

It's a catch 22 because in one sense I can't wait until he throws Inter under the bus aswell but at the same time it's would resemble the last chance of getting something resembling a decent fee flying out of the window

Alternatively, you could enjoy his season no matter what. Find joy in his misery, if he falls flat on his face and causes chaos in their dressing room. Or silently be happy that he’s making himself look appealing to potential buyers, if he hits the ground running :D

We didn't sign him for £100 million or loan him back for £10 million but OK.
You signed him for €100M and he just went on loan for €8M... So it's exactly €92M. The tweet was a bit generous.

They signed him for 115 million euros, which was around 97.5 million pounds back then.

Think overall 90 million is true though, at least close to it. 97.5 million pounds is what Chelsea paid, Inter paid around 6.5 million pounds loan fee and with add ons it might reach around 8 million pounds.

Red Card for Casemiro!
It's not often Chelsea lose so much money on a player. That's a United thing. Even Kepa has had redeeming moments in that blue shirt, Lukaku walks out alone and unique.

#NotForEveryone indeed.

The reaction in Milan is decidedly mixed. Poor Rom might not get the love he expects.

Guess the hope is he'll play well and be able to then get a fee...in that case the loan fee and then paying his wages makes sense.

Certainly the transfer market karma to the Hazard deal...

Apparently he is going to try revolutionary diet that includes not eating and drunk stuff like fries, Coke, etc.

Reminds me of cyclist Mads Pedersen's legendary weight loss plan of "eating less and shitting more". Really cutting edge stuff.

Chelsea fans are enjoying that relief that we had when we finally got rid of him.

Isn't Chelsea pretty strict when it comes to the fitness part of the game, why did he get so fecking fat? You expect Chelsea to better than inter in this regard or at the very least not worse.

Maybe they’ve found that dietary issue again that they claimed to have discovered and solved after signing him from us?

The article says his ideal weight is 101kg. Wtf? That’s 220lbs. And that he weighs more than that now. He’s a big chap but I find it hard to believe he weighs north of 200.

Don't think it's hard to believe at all, the guy is gigantic, with massive legs and buttocks. There were newspaper articles from back when he was at Anderlecht as a teenager, because he had cut down his weight from 100 kilogram to 97 to be more agile. That was him at 18 years old weighing 100 kg and he looks massive in pictures from that time, so yeah...

I expect him to have a very rapid drop off as he gets older, being overweight and lazy is never likely to have a good influence on longevity.

Why post homophobic twitter tripe? "Story going around", "another homo relationship". Fantastic stuff, really.
