Good to see that we have finally signed a player, albeit a player that we are unlikely to see play for a while, as Shaw is likely to dominate the LB position.
I hope he succeeds, but as with most young players moving to the EPL, the odds are against him.

That is a positive, but he is young and our existing players might get into his head and turn him into a lazy, apathetic player like they are. This is the very reason I wanted many players sold, asap. Their poor mentality is infectious.
Yeah that's the trouble it's a shame we couldn't have cleared more of them out as the laziness and mentality is absolutely shocking. Hope ETH makes clear to them exactly what's expected and anyone under performing is dropped, regardless of name

He seems like the happiest person on the planet right now!

Absolutely love to see it!
It's what we all like to see, players who can't wait to say "yes" when United offer them the chance to come to the club. I think he'll be my favourite player this season, just because of that smile.

Even if Shaw performs at his best Tyrell will still get plenty of playing time, as Shaw will never play a full season without injuries.
Looking forward to see him in action and hope that he will not be an addition to the long list of mediocre right and left backs we have seen since Evra and Neville.

I hope he displaces Shaw once and for all. Rested on his laurels for far too long that guy, never been sure about his attitude.

Would you say he’s more of an attacking full back? How good is he at defending? Only seen clips of him on YouTube and he looks promising. He’ll play majority of the Games next season with Shaw always being injured and telles bein awful.

Fan of Uncle Pat. When I watched all of 10 minutes of him he did remind me of him.

Know very little about him but he seems an exciting prospect. Hopefully he can challenge Shaw as he always does better with competition.

I think this will be a great signing. He just looks to have the right mentality and lots of ability.

Surely Telles will go won't he? Why would he want to stick around with 2 left backs ahead of him plus the likes of Williams possibly not leaving either. Anyway welcome Tyrrell, mighty fine crisps you make and all.

For sure deserves to be posted over and over again, can't get enough of that!

Nice to see RvP being so enthusiastic as well. Must be really cool seeing young talented players you've played with for a while sign for Manchester United, more so because he's still involved with Feyenoord's first team as a coach.

Where was Tyrell's? I remember Macfisheries. My mum used to send me there for herrings.

Edit: Was it on Ashley Road? I have a dim memory of visiting my brother, who was newly-married and lived on Ashley Road near a fishmongers. This would be in 1965 or so.
It was. Game as well as fish; it had a row of rabbits and hares hanging down from a rail. I always wanted one, but my mother was a bit squeamish. I’m sure they would have prepared/skinned it for her.

It lasted long after I’d left Alty; possibly even into the 90s.

I like how we went about this signing. We allowed Lyon to agree a deal first and then matched it, which probably saved us millions. If United went in for him first up, we'd probably have had to pay a much larger fee.

I think you'll lose that bet but hope you're right.
If he can actually run then I think he'll have no problem displacing Luke "Jogger" Shaw. Unless he's gonna get in shape and start actually running.

We've basically offset his fee by selling Andreas, and I'd imagine they are on similar wages anyway.

This is the kind of signing we should be making more often. Young, full International and seems a good character.

He would have to be awful beyond all comprehension for us not to AT LEAST make our money back if he's not quite good enough.

Best case scenario, these type of signings flourish and become regulars in the first team, worst-case, we sell them at a profit - see Dan James

Only watched him once, the Conference League Final against Mourinho's stubborn Roma side. Was one of Feyenoord's brightest players that night imo.

Good luck to him.

Not just that night mate! He will show you a lot of rushes and sad bit true, he had Anthony in his pocket at Ajax vs Feyenoord
