He's technically fantastic and his weight of pass is one of his biggest strengths. Perfect for give and go football just like Jadon, shame he's built like a shoelace.

Still 19 and yet many have concluded he will never be good enough for Man Utd.

I'd love to see him get some game time. He's just a bit weak and slow at the moment but his technique is fantastic. He could be a great 30 minute sub this year.

He's clearly a great player technically. I'd be keen to give him a chance next season. Start him in every Europa game.

I am pretty sure he is not nr 19 anymore, because that 9 took 180 degree twist…

Not to mention the fact that you watched Rafael Varane wear that number for the entirety of last season.

He is 19 years old, he has not even stopped growing yet and has started hitting the weights more in the gym. He will be fine.
Elanga is a few months older but has been given far more chances. I think Diallo has the higher ceiling and more talrnt yet Elanga is already built like a man.

Hoping this guy gets some chances next season and I’m sure he will under ten Hag, I’d play him in Europa league

Love to see this lad breakthrough and make it here, just something about him makes me want him to succeed.

Genuinely think he could get a chance at being a false 9 for us. He played it really well away to Wolves at the end of 20'

I have a feeling he will be someone Ten Hag likes in training, as he's very good at moving the ball on the deck and has great close control. Not sure how or if that translates into selection or into his side.

I love ETH to death, probably my favourite manager after SAF, but he has flaws.

He sometimes refuses to give those a chance who are clearly shining. Maybe because he understands football is more than what you do on the ball and he wants all to fit together in the machine he is making.

Noa Lang was by far the best player in pre season 20/21, but ETH just refused to give him a proper go and he was sold.

Naci Unuvar was a huge revelation for Jong Ajax last season, and he just didnt get any look in at any point. He's a smallish #10 who might miss the stamina and work rate I guess.

On the ball, I think Amad is amazing. He works hard, he presses and is visibly getting stronger, he really could be like a new signing. The boy is just gifted.

Haha, mate if you're like 1.72 at 19 chances are you aren't getting any taller.

Anyways being short isn't a big deal for wingers, it is an issue that his other physical qualities don't seem to compensate for his height though. Extremely lightweight and easily bullied off the ball, and he isn't rapid either. No exceptional sense of balance and change of direction like other slow players like Saka or Foden. Technique is great and all, but without height, great pace, agility, or strength then he's unlikely to succeed. I don't expect him to.

Scientifically, he is still at an age where he will still fill out a little bit more though, I wasn't taking about just height.

Me too. I think he's a real talent. Not sure why it hasn't worked out so far, but with a good coach (that could be a clue) I'm sure the possibilities are there.

We could see him a lot on pre-season as United let's be honest struggling to create anything on the right side at the moment. Mata was done a long time ago while Greenwood... well, the situation's fubar.

The way Ten Hag revitalised Ajax with Haller and Antony in one window was somewhat close to a genius move. Can he do it the same in United under Glazers reign ? Very hard to tell and I definitely wouldn't throw the scenario where Martial and Rashford continue to struggle while Amad needs to step up at some point, if the lack of transfer movement continues.

Scientifically, the vast vast vast majority of boys stop growing at the ages of 16. When they do keep growing, it's usually between the ages of 16 and 18 and it's usually not noticeable (like half an inch). Freak of nature stories like McTominay's just aren't common. They're like the 1% of boys. Chances are the only changes in height Amad will have from now is shrinkage from old age.

But yes, he will get fuller in terms of muscular structure. There's that going for him. Don't think that'll be enough though.

but filling out as the poster mentioned is nothing to do with height

And that's worrying considering he'll be 30 in ten years time

I hope he goes on loan. I don't think he can handle the physicality and pace at the top level yet. He needs a loan where he actually plays, which hasn't happened in the past.

If he starts to work hard, he could be golden and our own Antony without spending the money on Brazilian. The question is, does he have the elite mentality? Because off the ball he seemed alway not overly interested to press nor win the ball, which is worrying he should be all over the pitch like Hannibal at least and try his absolute best to please manager.
