Are you serious about paying this fee for Schick? That would be absolute madness.
You guys are living in some dream world. The same mentality made us lose Nunez. It isn't the time to pinch pennies, that's what's ruined the entire window and makes our best player want to leave. Schick should be for 60M but he went and signed a new contract and it takes money to pry away players in a new deal because more than likely it means the club and the player both agree they want to move forward for at least the next season or two.

Liverpool signed Nunez, City signed Haaland; Schick is the only striker with numbers that looks like they can compete, and that comes at a premium.

Damn, I can't edit my post and quote Invictus.

To what Invictus said I don't think we should give up when we should be signing 6-7 players this window. We should pay whatever is asked for who is proven in their position and have statistics to back up their game. There will be bargains in other positions but we'll have to pay the piper for a striker because we let Vlahovic slip right from under us for no reason. The excuse for this club? They weren't sure if the manager would want that striker; pathetic.

I would go for Patrick Schick if i was Ten Hag.

Schick and Eriksen can be as good as Haller and Tadic. Not only with Eriksen. If Ten Hag can get De Jong to support Schick and United attack. United will be really strong in the attack and upfront.

Raphinha - Eriksen - De JOng - Bruno - Rashford + Schick . A dream 6 for me. Ideally. Harder to come up with better line up.

Patrick Schick. I update him to "MUST BUY" category. Why?

Life after Ronaldo. Which CF/Striker out there. Closest to the top and world class level. Will cope and be able to come to that level?A realistic but still close to the top level of a CF? And deliver on a consistent top level in 4-5 years?

I end up with the name Patrick Schick. He is as closest as you can come as a CF. That is good in everything. Link up with your teammates, beat and pass defenders. A really good finisher with both head and feets. Schick overall performance and basic ball skill. Is really really high.

I think and recommend Ten Hag shall drop thinking buying Antony this summer. Save that money and spend it on Patrick Schick. Why?
Because there are not many others alternatives out there that are close to the top and world class level. Haaland went to City and Nunez to Liverpool. Schick will solve United CF spot for the next 4-5 years at least.

And with Schick instead of Antony. I believe United and Ten Hag will rise the chance higher to get top 4 and better. Why? Because of Ten Hag drop the wing this season and go for 4312 for the most of the games. Like this. Then i believe United and Ten Hag have good reason to get top 4 and champion league next year.

Like this is a 4312 :

Eriksen - De Jong/Fred/Garner - De Jong/DVB + Bruno/Eriksen + Schick/Martial - Rashford/Ronaldo/Garnacho

There you have. And with Schick. He is skill ful and can pass players. He might can play as RW as an alternative to his CF abilities. This video show he as skill and abilities to do a really good job as RW:

Clearly in the video. The boy has the skill and flair to beat and pass players. Beside his really good finish skill.
A really good finisher + a good link up CF + skill and flair to pass opponent players. And of course he has the fighting and winning mentality. Sum of all those attributes and abilities. You will end up as a complete attacking football player and CF you can.

Again trust me on this. Drop buying Antony this summer and buy Patrick Schick instead. You can go and buy Antony next summer.
United and Ten Hag this goal is to get top 4 and champion league. For that. Ten Hag and United need Schick more than Antony.
Schick is more versatile than Antony. Antony as CF for United?Schick is really close to 1.90 cm tall. Antony hasn't has that height to play as United CF to score goals from precise crosser.
And Schick as RW like this:

Eriksen - De Jong/Fred/Garner - Bruno + Schick - Ronaldo/Rashford - Sancho/Martial. Alternative to 4312.

Schick end product ability is much higher than Antony + versatile. And in the end. Think long term. Life after Ronaldo. The best CF which can take over do a immediately impact is Patrick Schick. Closest to the top and world class level out there. And to deliver it consist the next 4-5 years. Most and best suit candidate is Patrick Schick.

How about Brian Brobbey?

1.59 goals per 90 under Ten Hag is a ridiculous record, and he's publicly begged to come to OT. Send Ronaldo to RB Leipzig as a swap deal.
I called this yesterday - now the difficult bit of packing Ronaldo off to RB Leipzig...

OK, we all know Ronaldo won't end up at RB Leipzig, but as well as getting Brobbey, we could do worse than demanding Joshua Zirkzee from Bayern Munich in exchange for Ronaldo. Brobbey and Zirkzee are probably the two hottest young Dutch strikers around at the moment, and could come in as back up for Anthony Martial, and I wouldn't be shocked to see them end the season as first team regulars.

Ronaldo wants out, so we can either have a toxic influence in the dressing room, (or awol as he currently is) on £350k a week, sell him to our rivals Chelsea, or sell him to Bayern. For the amount we get for Ronaldo (say £15m), plus savings on his wages (another £15m), you tell me which strikers we can get for £30m that are realistically available. Nkunku is not available, and next season is c£50m, so the only one for that price is possibly Schick. I would rather buy two players with potential, who would play Ten Hag's style, and would be hungry, rather than a washed up Dybala, who wants another big pay check and was brilliant 5 years ago.

You mention two players that aren't getting in the national team ahead of Malen or Weghorst.

If we're getting a Ronaldo replacement we're dipping into our transfer budget, even if that means passing on Antony. I'd rather we make due with a false 9, Tony and Radishford than signing Dutch shite.

They don't have the potential for United's first team, especially not Zirkzee. Brobbey can't even start a game for Leipzig without getting subbed off in the first half and Zirkzee was Bayern's 3rd or 4th CF that didn't set the world on fire at any of his loan destinations in Belgium or Serie A.

I'm genuinely surprised you weren't taking the piss suggesting a Parma flop.

I'm surprised Conte didn't go for Eriksen, though imo Spurs are really looking much stronger than last season.

Great post and I agree Patrik Schik at 26 could be the next big thing, we should use Antony money roughly £50M plus £15M for Ronaldo sale and go get this deal done but he won’t be £25-30M he’s just signed a new 5 year contract and has CL next season so we would have to pay £45-50M and offer 200k per week massive upgrade on Martial or Rashford down the middle. Keep A Ellanga and go for Antony in Jan transfer window, however if he stars for Brazil the £60M we could probably get the deal done for now could be nearly double in this ridiculous market. Ideally we could get both plus Dyballa simply by pulling out of Martinez, this guy is not worth £45/50M and we don’t need him as much as a new CFW if Ronaldo leaves. That would give us Rashford, Ganaucho(WIL), P Schik , A Martial( CFW), J Sancho,Ellanga, Dyballa (WIR) giving us 7 options for 3 places. If we started with Rashford, Schik, Sancho as starting with Martial, Ellanga, Dyballa, Ganaucho as our 4 attacking options from a bench of 9 substitutes, at best I see 4/5th however it’s a lot better than Martial Starting and Brian Broobey as back
Up and Shoretire, A Dialo and Ganaucho on the bench.

Why the hell were we all over Eriksen on a free yet seemingly not interested in Belotti. No brainer for our yankee leeches with no transfer fee to be paid.

I wouldn't be shocked to see anyone that comes in as back up to Martial ending the season as a first team regular tbh.

I'm convinced some of these users are covert Liverpool agents, hoping Murtough and co will read their posts and take their suggestions so that ultimately and finally Manchester United can get relegated. Only reasonable explanation for their consistent recommendation of terrible players.

Nah, he's part of the recent influx of Dutch/Ajax newbies. A minority of them really overrate Dutch/Ajax players or don't know much about other players.

If a big club like United pay a good price for Bayer Leverkusen. They will consider to sell.

+ Plus. I read, not sure if its true. Schick did mentioned Manchester United belong to 3/4 he could dream playing for. Back the time he was playing for Sampdoria or Rome.

I suggest and recommend Schick because of Ronaldo age. 37. Not if Ronaldo is only 30. Not many years left right. Maybe his last for United or leave this summer.

But if you want a natural CF/Striker that are good to hold on the ball. Turn 180 around and still have really good ball control, calmness to finish. Good link up with his teammates and pass and beat players.
Schick click most of the boxes.

After been and share the top scorer with Ronaldo at Euro 2020. He went on and keep is scoring form in Bundesliga last year. Behind Lewandoski with better teammates and support and a bit above Haaland.

Sum and conclusion of that. I think he is a conistent CF and football player. A CF and player you can trust on.
In other words. I think and believe. Schick is not a one season striker. I think he will keep this scoring form and rate in the years to come.

Personally think we need two stikers still....well unrealisic myriad of signings we need really, I would say still 7 afer Malacia.

I like Schick, tall strong, limks up play well, technically good.....but I like him as a second choice striker. I dont think he is super decisive or top top level in terms of a goalascorer and frankly £60-80m, my opinion he isnt worth close to that fee....dont think its penny pinching, more total lack of value.

The problem is, there really arent that many good strikers about at the moment, certainly not available young ones, still doesnt justify that kind of fee for me, smacks of desperation rather than a good buy.

I still cant believe nobody is in for Amine Giouri though and £40-50m he is my choice

Schick would be a fantastic signing.
I have serious doubts about Brobby given how average he was when playing for Leipzig.

Can’t go wrong with €13mn. He’s as much a physical freak as Lukaku but better with back to goal. One thing I liked hearing about him is that his penalty box movement is excellent which would be a big improvement for us as none of our strikers except Cavani like to stay in the box.

Maybe we should go for the latest guy from Molde. David Fofana. If Brobbey is an option I dont see why not.

The issue might be how much he relies on this physique. As soon as he came to the Bundesliga and met more seasoned and better defenders his great form completely evaporated. And the premier league is a lot harder.

It's not unrealistic. We have the money to do it, we just no longer have the ambition to do so. We're not going to do what's necessary to improve the squad. I've made my peace with it.

We definitely need 2 if Ronaldo is leaving that's for sure.

Trust me Schick isn't my first choice or dream striker but that's the market right now. The thing about a rebuild is you are desperate because you're not going about normal business just tinkering with the team. A striker like him is £70M and ain't much we can do about that, the market has changed.

I don't think we're even in for Schick to be honest and that makes me wonder what's going on. Our striker wants to leave because we haven't made moves in the market; shouldn't we be signing someone in case he leaves but also on the other hand to compel him to stay?

I'm not gonna lie, I haven't seen much of Gouiri but the tiny bit I've seen has me interested and if I was to choose based on that I'd want him at the club. I'm all for a striker that can play LW; that was one of my main attractions to Nunez.

It's not unrealistic. We have the money to do it, we just no longer have the ambition to do so. We're not going to do what's necessary to improve the squad. I've made my peace with it.
So, Arnold, Murtough and ETH are targeting mid-table then in your opinion? ETH would leave a multi-championship-winning team and come over to be mid-table and collect his big bump-up in salary only?

I don't really care what their inner "ambitions" are, their activity in the transfer market for the past 3 years is leading us to mid-table mediocrity. This summer transfer window doesn't seem to be any different, as once again we're ignoring key holes in the squad; the same holes we've have for almost half a decade, and some of them even a decade. No "top team" has been playing without a right winger and a defensive midfielder for 5 years, except for Manchester United that is. We're looking to end the transfer window with 4-5 players, with only one of them is addressing an actual squad issue (De Jong), and that certain player isn't even guaranteed to come.

No club with a management as ineffective and incompetent as ours should be claiming that their ambitions are anything but persistent mediocrity. I'll change my opinion of them once they change their ways.
