Decent to good half.

Some obvious problems remain. A Midfield two with no ability to spread the play being a massive one

Surrounding the ref at half time in a friendly because of a warranted booking is ridiculously small time

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
It’s been total domination playing super high and aggressively sustaining attacks constantly. The fact it’s only 1-0 is irrelevant - that’s been by a very solid performance and the work rate of the front 4 who got slammed last season is very much improved.

Find it strange how everyone but ole prefers dalot… Solskjær was always talking about attacking football yet he was the one that used the most defensive full back.

Please elaborate. He's the worst academy player to be given this much time in the first team. I assume it's just a case of "energy and the right attitude" as it's certainly not talent.
In your opinion he is the worst , doesn't actually mean he is.

I mean imagine not having any talent but still consistently getting selected for your club side and National team. Crazy.

34 minutes gone in that half, McT picks the ball up deep, plays a good pass through the lines, rather than standing still he then goes and makes a fantastic run down the channel, all of that lead to a chance, but I wouldn't expect you to see that as you're probably still seething that he nearly gave the ball away a minute before that.

You can see why EtH wants Frenkie, or a player of a similar profile - so many times when McFred/Malacia/Maguire have the ball from deep you can see Rashford/Sancho/Dalot in wide open space asking for the ball, but none of them have the ability to make the pass.
Frenkie would be the same.

Frenkie is one of my favourite players but some have the wrong idea about him. His passing isn't a big strength of his. It's quite limited. What he brings is press resistance. He will not lose the ball under pressure which brings a whole new level of calm and composure to the team, which we're in dire need of.

He will annoy a lot of people. He takes a lot of touches before passing, turning when he feels there are no quick short passing options. I love it, though.

i’ve given the head honchos at this club a lot of stick but it’s looking like an inspired choice to play two prem sides before the start of the season.

starting on 6 points will be a huge psychological advantage over the rest of the field and having 40 games to amass points could see us go close by the end of the year. important to improve our gd as much as possible now.

Ok half. CP has been really poor, and against a good side this would be a nightmare.

The movement off the ball was MUCH better, and players look technically better. Just the mindlessness of it isn't good.

Scoring goals was never really an issue under Ole though. We found it difficult to defend.

Luke Shaw will need to activate his Super Saiyan mode once again if he wants to keep his place. Malacia's making runs and passes we've rarely seen our LB make.
Place your bets now, Malacia will start more games in the league.

National team is Scotland and he doesn't even start in midfield for them. Not good enough but we're in a ridiculous position where we haven't bought a holding midfielder since Matic.

btw "Refuses to acknowledge existence of Ukraine"? Yeah you're getting ignored.

Agree. It’s been a very good, enjoyable 1st half. Would like a couple more goals but so far so good from the bits and pieces I’ve watched.

Cannot wait till we have new midfielders in. You can already see EtH's impact but there's a ceiling of performance with our current players.

Definitely need another forward though. We looked great in the first couple of games because Sancho was really involved. A quite first half for him and we look a bit dull. Rashford is looking sharp even though he hasn't done much. I think he'll gradually improve and start scoring again.

Eriksen in that case then.

He’s certainly looked good in pre season so far. However last season he was far too erratic. Especially with his end product. He needs to more consistent to be a long term solution.
